  1. Hi guys, im from australia so dont have access to a heap of good banshee tuners like you guys do! The guy i want to build my motor is an old two stroke guru, sets up all the best cr500s for the finke desert races, and has done a few banshees as well for the desert race but freely admits to not being all that familiar with them. anyway i explained to him that i want to flattrack/speedway race my quad but also keep it fairly reliable and tame enough to trail ride/play ride. this is what he reckons he will do to it... "The exhaust ports end up just a little higher, mainly to get a better flowing entry into the passage, and wider for more area, the transfer ports all get raised, reangled, and widened. The reed faces on the barrels are machined to raise the c/case compression, and the head machined as previously discussed.(Machine head face, squish, chamber on std head) Case matching is not really worthwhile. This will not make it peaky and will certainly fatten up the power curve" what do you guys think? the quad currently has fmf fatty's and power core 2s, k&n filter with adaptor plate, and i want to run either pwk 28s or 33s, not sure what size to go with. also will advance the timing by 3 degrees and run on 98ron fuel or better. what compression ratio should we aim for? will probably be first oversize wiseco pro lite pistons.
  2. i would buy a set if you will ship to australia. of course would be willing to pay the extra for shipping. could you also get me the 450 spindles and shocks?
  3. can the banshee spindles be modified so that the ball joints dont bind? what would that involve do you think?
  4. does the standard yfz450 bottom arms have this problem too? i want to powder coat some 450 arms that im getting for my banshee, but i think you can replace the ball joint on them?
  5. what is the best sprocket to use on a banshee? i want some bling so was gonna go a gold renthal, what else is good? does aluminium wear much quicker than steel? also will a 43 tooth sprocket fit without modification? thanks, mark.
  6. i was about to go ahead and order this kit.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Bans...1QQcmdZViewItem when i started to think about the quality of the stator cover. has anyone had issues with them not sealing properly and letting moisture etc into the stator? obvioulsy there would be good ones and bad ones, does anyone know anything about the above kit? thanks, mark.
  7. has anyone got a .jpg or any other file type or a link to a picture of the standard "BANSHEE" logo that is on the rear fenders of say a 2000 onwards banshee? does anyone know what im talking about? its just the word banshee and its black in the middle and fades out to white at either end. i want it so i can get em made up for my quad. even if someone could just email me a good photo of theirs? mark.tomarchio@cardno.com.au thanks, mark.
  8. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Seat-Cover-...097776737QQrdZ1 I am in australia and really want to buy this seat cover, but in the guys ad it says to discuss shipping overseas b4 bidding, however i have tried messaging him 3 times but he has not replied! i first tried 3 days ago! anyone know where else i can get it? or anyone bought from this guy before, is he legit? thanks, mark.
  9. thanks for all your replies looks like i will grab the 2s and spend a bit of extra time ensuring they are installed correctly!
  10. I can save about $100 getting the 2s over the 3s, is it worth spending the extra money? my quad has fmf ssts, & k&N filter and the reed blocks will go on in conjunction with ported cylinders, modified head, 33mm PWKs and +4 timing. at the moment the quad puts out 42hp at the wheels with just the pipes filter and shaved head, what sorta power can i expect when im finished modding? i know it all depends on the porting specs (local 2 stroke guru with many years experience prepping desert racing cr500s is doing the porting), but i just want a ball park figure of what to expect. i have told the tuner i am going to use the quad for flat track racing but also want it to be able to do the odd trail ride, so he's going with mainly a mid to top end port job but not overly savage (if that makes any sense!!) thanks, mark.
  11. Ryan, your bumper looks exactly like the duncan one, so that will do me! if you could get me some measurements and email them to me when you get a chance i would be very appreciative! mark.tomarchio@cardno.com.au Thanks mate, Mark.
  12. Has anyone got a duncan racing bumper on their banshee? I want to get some measurements so i can fab up my own. any help would be much appreciated. thanks, Mark.
  13. Hi there I have an '02 banshee with FMF SST pipes, & k&n filter. its currently at a enginer tuners shop getting a strong mid to top port job and the head modified. i want to also upgrade the carbs. the quad is going to be used for flattrack racing but also the occasional trail ride/play ride. what would be best? 28mm, 35mm single 35mm? keihin or mikuni? whats the gun setup? thanks, mark.
