kickass dude I had that same problem once. Ususally when messing with carbs that piece ends up forgotten. And if you need some help with jetting post in the jetting forum and they can help you out there. Where does it seem to be rich at? What throttle position? ildle to 1/4th 1/4th to 3/4th or 3/4 to WOT?

did you put the carb choke crossover tube back on? When its running try pulling out the choke 1 click and 2 clicks and see how it runs then. And whats your compression?

maybe a piece of rag clogged a main jet? just an idea clean the carbs and jets real good.

Ask him if you can do a compression test and if the bikes fine then he shouldnt disagree to it. Do a compression test. See if its hard to start warm or cold. and when you have the plugs out look at them hopfully there not white...unless there new. Ask him what the jetting is. TEST RIDE IT!! ask him about how many hours are on the topend..or if its stock how many hours are on the bike. I got kinda screwd over when I bought my banshee...I didnt check the compression or ask him about jettting. HE WAS RUNNING STOCK MAIN JETS WITH T5'S NO JOKE. I almost burned my banshee up the day after I got it. Just some ideas.... Hope this helps. -

compression doesnt change jetting. so no. What is your jetting and compression at?

Went to the bike shop and took my Pilot Jets in. And he couldnt find them then he ordered me some and they were the wrong ones. So anyone got any 27.5's for stock carbs.

If you switched the plug wires and the other side starts running better and other side worse. Then def an electrical problem. Try new spark plugs and caps. If thats not the case then Test the ignition coil and stator with an ohm meter. And you might want to check your pickup coil gap.

You mean you need to remove the flywheel without using the thread in flywheel puller? You cant get one? Or it wont thread in or what? Do not use a jaw type puller cause those will ruin your flywheel? Ive heard of flywheel threads being stripped and people welding the puller to the flywheel if you have too. Give some more details. -
I think the air screws are about 1.5 turns out. Compression is 110 both cylinders. Ill get some 25 ansd 27.5s tomorrow and try that. But what makes it rev up and idle fast when I pull out the choke when its idling?

It will start cold but when its warmed up it will only start by tow start. Cant get this problem fixed. And when I pull the choke out when its idling it revs up and idles alot faster. Does this mean that I have an air leak?

Couldnt really understand everything you said. But ive seen 4 things so far that will make a banshee backfire... 1. Dirty carbs. 2. bad Stator. 3.sheared flywheel key. 4. Jetting is too lean. I had the same problem. Only one side would run and it would backfire like crazy. My problem was a bad stator. Switch your plug wires and see if the right side starts running good or it stays the same then get back to us.

Maybe you can take off the back fenders and the airbox off or pods. And when its running Have a friend or you if you can, rev your motor and look in the carbs and see if they are sticking. That should tell you if the slides are sticking or if you have another problem. just an idea.....

what happend when it overheated? did the water bubble in the overflow bottle under the seat? or did it shoot or steam out of the overflow hose?

Whats the temp there? When starting a cold bike it requires a rich mixture (more fuel) to start. 108 octane for 130 psi compression doesnt sound right.Im pretty sure you should be running pump gas. Are you using the choke? wheres your air screws and needle set at? -
Not sure what kind of tester it is. It doesnt say so I took a picture of it. When I rebuilt it last time the rods were not blued at all. just like a brownish color. Ya I just brought a brand new Ricky stator and put the timing at +4. The flywheel gap is good I checked it with a feeler guage. Mods and jetting are in sig. Im in arizona so its pretty hot about 100 degrees. Elevation is 1400' above sea level. I never had this problem before. It used to start first kick every time.

You can get a flywheel shaved for faster revs or added weight for trail riding I think.

When its warmed up it still wont kickstart. Ya the choke crossover tube is in place. I didnt get to wam it up completely completly cause the cops came to my house for riding it on the street. It runs excellent but just wont kick start. I checked for spark and its sparks every time. Thats why I think its compression. Ya I should be running Castor 927. It will usually kickstart when its cold after 1-2 kicks when I put new plugs in it then shut it down and it wont kickstart again.

I just cleaned both carbs. Took them completely apart and cleaned them with carb cleaner. I use Yamalube mixed at 36:1 I use a ratio rite cup so its exactly right. It runs so good but will only push start. Brand new stator and coil. So im pretty sure its not an electrical problem. You think a leak down test would be a good idea? I was thinking about doing it. I know your real good with banshees dajogejr.

As much as I want to put a hot rods crank in it I really cant afford it. What would make the connecting Rods blue?
