  1. Hmm before buying all of that stuff being a certified mechanic you should have tested the coil and startor and pickup coil with and ohmmeter or multi tester. When you put the new stator on you didnt bend it by chance did you? Usually a cdi box does or doesnt work. It could be the cdi though.
  2. IT could be low compression and top end rebuild time. or the wrong main jets or maybe jus need to change the screws on the carbs. What are all the mods you have and where do you have your air/fuel screws set at?
  3. Haha. Hide a pipe in the front bumper. But dont smoke and ride. Maybe on your own land but not in plublic places.
  4. What mods and what main jets do you have? Running it hard while its running lean will cause overheating.
  5. ya definitly 22 mains are way too lean maybe try at least 260s -280s and ive had the backfiring problem before too. A few things it could be is the flywheel key is sheared. Bad stator....my old problem. And dirty carbs. And make sure the carbs are in sync do you have tors?
  6. I was gonna ask about the carb crossover tube. and with Just pipes and .60 bore i dont think you have to change the pilot jet.
  7. The only few things i could think of is the carbs out of sync and if you forgot to hook the cross over hose that would make the right cylinder run extremely lean and then a airleak.
  8. Here this will answer all your questions.......start reading lol http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/elecfaq.html
  9. all I can think of is running too rich due to too big of main jets and are you carbs in sync do you have tors and where is your needle set at? And it might be the ignition coil going out but usually it revs up fine in neutral and it bogs in the higher gears.
  10. Here read question 58. This is the best overview of a banshee electrical system ive seen yet. This will tell you how to do it exactly right. http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/elecfaq.html And any other electrical questions you might have of coarse
  11. there is 3 things that i kno of and seen that make a banshee do that. 1 dirty carbs and airfilter. 2 sheared flywheel key. 3 bad stator. possibly and airleak
  12. Ya its gotta be the floats. There always either sticking or bouncing out of adjustment. So just take the carb off and take it COMPLETELY apart jets and everything spray everything out with carb cleaner and maybe measure the float height. It should be right about 21 or 22mm not sure which one. and put it back together and it will stop leaking. Ive had this problem many times.

  14. I had the exact same problem and went through everything. Found out that it was my stator. it was really rusted around it. And it was bent. If you have a multitester you can test it. You only have to unhook one cord. Or maybe pull off the side cover and look if the flywheel looks real rusted.
