Made some changes to my banshee
RagunCajun replied to Woolfman's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I think i went up one main jet size when i switched. From 320 to 330. But i might of been a tad rich. But i did TONS of WOT runs. So better safe than sorry i guess. The engine pulls fine on top. It even did so with stock carbs. Only reason i went with 30's was easier jet changes and it's something i been wanting to do. I wish i had more mph but with no 6th gear and 20" tires, oh well. What makes you think just 30's wont be enough on top end? Just curious. -
That's fine. payment pending

+1. If things are welded together, the adjuster is keeping the plate on. Hopefully after that it off you can pull the adjuster, ball and pushrod out. If not, you'll be splitting the cases. :ermm: . It might help to tip the bike on it's side to let gravity help. But that's after the pressure plate is off.

Made some changes to my banshee

The CPI's rev out more and pull more on top. Youll have to rev the bike out hard to see it's full potential. I'm sure youll like it. They sound wicked too. But IMO a banshee always sounds better when someone else is riding it. -
Made some changes to my banshee
RagunCajun replied to Woolfman's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I run 30 oko's. My builder recommended them over bigger carbs so i wont lose power down low. I'd recommend talking with whoever ported your engine to find the carbs best for you. How do you like those CPI's? I went from t5's to CPI's and i liked the change. But those pipes are apples and oranges. Any plans to cut the rear fenders? -
I have a brand new Wiseco Top end for a Banshee. They are new in box. Opened just by me and the machine shop guy last year to match my bore to the pistons. The reason i am selling this is because the juggs i had last year he did were lost in the mail. The new juggs i bought are a much bigger bore so these are useless to me right now. Top of the boxes say 2.540" and the other 2.5405". I guess that's what he measured them at. My old juggs were stock bored so i guess this is .10 over. Not sure. I can measure them with a caliper at work tomorrow evening unless the sticker can tell you. Here's some pics. http://rc.superdave2u.com/new%20top%20end1%205-17-09.JPG http://rc.superdave2u.com/new%20top%20end2%205-17-09.JPG Note: One circlip is not included but the other 3 are. When i was doing my top end on my current engine, one flew across the garage and i lost it so i took it from one of these. But you can just reuse your old one im sure. Also the stickers in the boxes are messed up. Price is $120 obo shipped w/ paypal fees included. I am looking for a set of NEW prowedges mounted on light rims. I would give these plus cash. Shipping will take place at the latest, the fallowing morning after i receive payment.

I cant ride all that well, should i stop posting vids as well?

When i had 6 HD springs on my bike, it was a hard to pull. I hated it. It cant hurt to inspect the ball and rod. While you are in there, put a pancake bearing in or a thrust bearing.

Mines 19cc and im at 150. My port work brings it down though. The usual charts show stock porting. I had to ask my builder what's the lowest i could go and get away with pump gas. He was right on the money.
-
What he probably means is yall are under estimating a 450 with a lot of work done to it and more importantly SET UP right. Your gonna need more than the stuff listed. You might end up having to set up the bike so different it wont be much of a play bike anymore. It might be closer to a drag only bike. When you got spanked by 4 lengths, were you spinning at all any time in the race? Also by "clutchless" do you mean the guy had an override? Meaning he can up-shift w/o using the clutch while WOT?

So what if your shee isnt all clean with tons of bling. Hell, mine a lot worst than most on here but i still rock it. Just take pictures from far away. Dont be ashamed of your shee. Be proud that you own and love your banshee!

(Revised Post)Parting Out EVERYTHING!

Do you have eye ball light covers for the front? -
I had a good port job on stock juggs and 6 hd springs worked fine. I just went with a 4mil set up and then i needed a lockup. But if i had to do it over again, i would get a lockup. Reason is for easier clutch pull. You can run 3hd/3 regular with a lockup. Then you have easy clutch pull and a clutch that doesnt slip. I run a vito's undercover slingshot style. Works great! Only $220.

800 renagade vs banshee?
RagunCajun replied to BANSH-alena-jol-EE's topic in General Banshee Discussion
See how hard that 800 launched in that last vid.....you WILL be playing catch up. video the race and post it. -
Check to make sure the cross overtube is there. It's a tube that connects both carbs. If a tube is not connecting both carbs, then it isnt there. If it's not there it will take tons of kicks or even getting pull started to fire up and it wont idle. Go to the auto parts store and buy a set of feeler gauges and set that gap correctly. It's like $5 for a set. You need air, fuel and a spark. Someone isnt there. If you have no idea about the cross over tube. post a picture with your seat off looking down at the carbs and we can tell you. Id take a picture but i dont run stock carbs.
-
IMO stay with stock carbs.

Your sig looks like the creator's other sigs(scroll down a few post to see what i mean). Two pics cropped on each side. Then feathered to appear faded. Something in the middle with something catchy as well. "4 poke eater" looks like your basic newbie text. Seems to have a layer style with inner glow elements or something of that nature. Most importantly it doesnt look clean overall. But if that isnt your banshee, then IMO shouldnt be posted. Or at least say it isnt yours.

Damn it sucks that it's your coil. I think 450's have those too.

800 renagade vs banshee?
RagunCajun replied to BANSH-alena-jol-EE's topic in General Banshee Discussion
My money is on the 800 unless the banshee gets only hell of a holeshot. A fast AWD bike is nasty. Video it. post it. -
Im awaiting my cascade bearing as well. I welded my damn crap together and had to split the cases to get them out. See how those light springs work for you. If it's not enough go with 3hd and 3 light, then if that slips go with 6HD. If the clutch lever is too hard to pull you can always go with a under stock cover slingshot lockup and 3HD/3 regular springs. That's what i have and it's very easy on the clutch hand. No hand pump at all. But im not sure how well it will shift for you w/o an override so a lockup might not be a good idea. To be honest, i only have a lockup because i need one. Since the cases are split, inspect all bearing, all 3 shift forks. Go ahead and change the seals as well unless you recently did that. Cheap insurance. That way when you seal those cases up, you know everything will be fresh and ready to go.

4mill cub against 4mill dune port
RagunCajun replied to bansheejoel's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
+1 on the override and lockup. I went with an override because missing shifts blow ass in races. And once i tried my override, i fell in love with it. No 6th gear sucks with my dunable but you will be in sand so you have to worry about that. Gearing changes can solve that anyway. I chose to go with a 4mil on ported stock cylinders because i wanted mid range power for playing around. I didnt want the late/violent powerband that a cub has. And another factor is i didnt wanna run race fuel. A properly set up 4mill ported stocker is a great running bike. Not on the same level as a cub but to each his own.
