Alright screw that then im going +4. Race gas will break my wallet because I usually ride our about 15 gallons when I go out for the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!! My timing key is +3 that is in there now and I always add some octaine booster to the 91 pump gas. I will set the timing at +4 and continue to run octaine booster in my gas... is that cool you think?
-
Okay so when I purchased my banshee it had a "timing key" already installed on it. I do not know where exactly this timing key is located, but it needs to come out and I need to replace it with the stock one! I bought a 200 watt rickey stator with adjustable timing plate and am going to need to take this key out. Where should I get a stock one at and am I going to see this timing key to take it out when I install my stator and timing plate?

DAMN now I need to lighten the flywheel... *** sigh *** the list will never end. =) Im in San Diego is it a simple and cheap thing to have done?

*******update************ new sh*t now! I talked to the guy recommended above for the port job. I will be getting a port job when I take the cylenders off. I told him about the mods I have and he recommended that I 1. take off the stock air box and k&n (with no lid) and get pods 2. take off the timing key (+3 deg) and get a timing plate and adjust to +6 he said it will be a different bike and I will smoke my friends and that is exactly what I need. =) What do y'all think about it? After I do the port these will be my mods (vforce 3 reeds, noss head w/ 21cc domes, K&N pods, +6 timing plate, toomey t-5's) what type of gas do you think I will need to be running? I for sure will have to rejet after doing the pods. I heard that they suck in a lot more air so that is a good thing. Now im excited. I just need to gather these parts together and install before I hit the dunes for halloween weeeknd! GORDON'S WELL woowoo!

Well hopefully your mom didn't get mad that you took her nail file. hahahaha j/k thanks for the tip im glad they give instructions on how to do it! =) I sent the "port man" as I am going to call him an e mail. I think that I might actually do that. I went to his website and he is in San Diego and so am I so that should not be to hard. Is this like your friend or something or does he just do really good work? Thanks for the tip. I will have to borrow a torque wrench... My dad has a pretty nice craftsman one (Yota) as he calls it (and has it labeled) actually. Kind of funny, but its a man thing, im sure you understand. Wait, will I need like a really small torque wrench? I wonder what the minimum setting is on his... dang i'll have to find out damn maybe i'll have to break down and actually buy one. That kind of sucks the wife is alreay mad enough that I spent all this $$$ on the shee and its not even desert season yet. She said to me "you guys are starting early this year" because me, my brother, and my best friend all have 'shees and there is the standard "friendly competition" going on about who has the fastest bike. I for sure will if I get the above-described port work done. =) Its okay if there is a little vasoline on the rings when the final assembly is torqued down to spec? Thanks for the tip!

Banshees suck a$$ when they are stock. Because of emitions laws they are majorly detuned because they are 2 stroke. You will need to put some money into the banshee to wake it up. I suggest some good pipes, a K&N air filter element and a removed air filter box lid, head mill, and a few degrees timing advance and you'll be good to go.

My friend just bought a banshee on Sunday and is dying to ride it. I agreed to go out with him and we also recruited my brother so we'll have 3 banshee's out there this weekend. We are going to leave Friday night and come home on Saturday sometime. I cant believe I agreed to go out there with him its going to be so frekin hot!!! I looked up the weather on weather.com and its going to be 87 degrees Friday night AND Saturday it will be 104 with intermediate thunder showers. That should be interesting. At least I

Okay cool well I just talked to Mr. D. Noss. I purchased the head w/ 21cc domes and said for riding in Glamis it would be fine with premium pump gas. Then he asked if the timing was advanced and I say yes it has a timing key witch I think advances the timing 4 degrees. He said I should run 1 gal Av. Gas and 4 gallons preminum pump. What do you think would be the wisest decision for power and making the bike last the longest!!! Removing the timing key and running premium pump gas only with no av gas. Keeping the timing key and putting in the 1 gal av gas and 4 gallons preminum pump. *** Also the timing key was installed on the bike when I purchase it. It it hard to remove and do I need to put something in its place if/when I remove it??? ***

Im thinking about getting the noss machine cool head but I have a few questions. I want to continue to use pump gas (91 Octaine) where I live (and I ride at Glamis and Gordons Well) but I dont know the altitude. What domes would you guys recommend for pump gas? I can throw some octaine booster in there if its just going to be a little, but I dont want it to get to expensive in the fuel department it already costs me enough to drive out there. Also when I order the Head what else will I need besides domes and the head itself? Do I need those O-rings displayed at the bottom of the page? How hard will it be to install the head on my own? I have all the basic hand tools and a buddy. At the time I install this head I will have a 2005 Banshee Milled Head for sale with ~15 hours on it if anyone is interested. Thanks! Here is the noss machine page link if anyone is interested. Does anyone know how long the shipping takes if its in stock? Click me for a good time.

Sounds good thanks man! I checked around online. Why does porting range from 400 to 650? -

Okay, last question, I think! =) If I was to get it ported do I need to worry about any other components being to weak to handle the power? If there anything I can do/buy as a precaution to keep it running its best for the longest amount of time? I used to have a quadzilla and that piece of crap would leave me stranded all the time. Breaks, head gasket, blew it up twice it was fast, but not worth the grief! geez im so glad to have a Banshee now -

They work awesome. My dad and brother both had them and loved them so I went from sand skate II's to the sand gear and the are much better in the dunes. I ride at Gordon's Well they throw a fat roost as well. -

And i'll notice a pretty big difference in power? =) What about the CDI upgraded box that is available for like $350? Do you like those? I already have a stock head mill and a timing key so can I still get that box? Should I take off the timing key? -

Okay that's cool they are cheaper on the FAST website. Do I need to get reed cages with them?
-
Use AMSOIL Pre-mix! Its da bomb yo

Do the VF3's come with cages for what I saw online for about $260? Im sorry I know what the reeds look like from online pictures and I assume the cage is what they go into, but generally do the cages come with them for that price? Where do you guys go to get them and how much are they if you have to buy the cages with them on top of the $260 that the reeds themselves cost. How hard are they to change out? Could it be done in 1 hour? Does a banshee have to be re-jetted after the install?
-
My brother said the same thing. He likes the v3's better.
-
Thanks all for the compliments. If I have any trouble with the adjusters i'll buy something else for it or i'll just lock tite it. I don't know yet. We'll see how it goes.

I know im going to need to do something about the stock shock. How much does a re-valve usually run? My bro has the quicksand swing arm that has the round style carrier. I did not have enough money to spend $700 on that arm. Mine was only $150 and $30 for a brake line. I bought the e brake block off at a locak motorcycle shop here in San Diego. I do not know if they are on e bay or not. Im liking the X ring chain so far and it looks pretty cool too! Here are some more pictures!
-
Will this one work the same? The swing arm has to be removed at the pivot point to put this on, right? What a PITA. I'll probably do it though. I still have a few weeks before my 1st REAL desert trip on this thing.
