yep my banshee was hard to start warm and it turned out to be low compression. about 60-70psi and it still ran :woot:

I got it When the fly wheel fell off it sheared off the key and when i put it back on the timing was wrong. Silly me chevshee

Ok Im at 2500-2700' main jet 158 poilet 48 needle 2 clip air skrus 1 1/2 turns out Keihin 35mm carbs i don't have a compression tester. the gas i am using is from October. chevshee

Well hear i am feeling retarded, I thought i knew a lot about carbs but i guess not. What is the deference between all the different needles? makes me wonder whats in my shee's carbs. How can you tell what needle you have? thanks chevshee

Well i just recently did some work to the trans in my banshee, I had the cases split and everything well i put the moder back together last night and in the frame today. i got it all put together and went to start her up. The third kick it went plu... plu. plu waaaaaa plu plu silence then i kicked it again and again nothing. So i checked my spark... No spark! I checked all my connections and thay weer good so i pulled off the fly wheel cover ans i had forgotten to tighten the fly wheel nut. so i got that on their and now it has spark. So i commence kicking, all i do wont make this thing start choke, no choke, half choke, new plugs, cleaned plugs alli can get it to do is go... plu. Plu.. PLu... PLU then die. the plugs come out wet with gass and have spark. its about 30*f in my shop and the last time the banshee ran was October. So can some one help me Why wont my banshee run? all you need to do is get a sign that says "if you can see this i can see you thru the sights of my 12 gage" and people wont mess with your stuff. I wood get one of those big laminated cables and string all the bikes together and lock it to a tree or something.

Ok so i just went threw the same problem. my banshee only had 2-3-4 gears tho so i tuck off the clutch cover and the clutch. then i pulled the little thing that keeps the shift hub in one place off. after that i played with the shift star a little bit till it freed up. i think that i have a bent shift fork so i will replace that.

Keep the banshee you will like your self a lot more. EDIT; To add to this earlier this year i was offer a trade, I wood get a 83 Chevy Scottsdale with a 454, and 750 in cash but. All this for my banshee but i chose to keep my banshee and now i am very happy i did. Whats a pickup with out a Banshee sitting in the back?

What he says is very true, First i got my carbs then i needed a drivrent Intake after i got that now i need some better pipes after i get that i;m going to need a new clutch, Then i will get some porting and the hell if i know what i will do from thare. p.s Thos carbs are to big for your banshee it will be a bitch to jet.... maby a set of 30mm pwk's that wood work. :thumbsup:

Yep just waiting on the fly wheel puller Yamaha shops fast... Real Fast... Super Fast!!

All i can tell you is that the vin is under the fly wheel cover on the frame

If i was you i wood go with a set of Keihin 30-33mm pwk's. You will get more out of those than 28mm.

Ok guys im going to order a fly wheel puller and dive in. :biggrin: the hard part will be getting to the shift forks tho... O well i have a climers and that tells how to do that!! :thumbsup:
