well, yea if your float isnt letting enough fuel into the chamber,. itll run lean and empty quick. And on hills youll dump it off the the side and itll crap out. Check your jetting to right after you check that with the 1-6 chop.
make sure they are both at the right height then. Should be 21 mm from the bottom of the float to the bowl mating surface with the carb turned upside down. gasket off of course. If its not that then its got to be a clog. If you leave the petcock on it will sometimes make your carbs overflow as well.
finally got my timing plate on and my jetting was dead on before and now its crisspy in the bottom middle. not sure if its lean or rich. Generally, when timing is advanced,. does it need to go richer? 4 degrees.
swap spark plug wires and see what happens. Floats work but are they the same height? maybe ones to low. if you swap the wires and you get the same results,. you isolated it to carbs/fuel.
is it a really modest pop,. or a quiet bang pop? mine did that before I had the Idle screws holding the slides at the same height. see if it only does it on one side and if one side smoke more than the other.
a k&n with T5`s @400`-32+degrees I would start with 350 center clip and work down if need be. Im at sea level 75-85 degrees and 320 is right on for me. Since its cooler in your area,. you might need to run a little richer.
Did you have the k&n filter on with the stock jetting before? If not, thats probley the problem. Dont be suprised if your jetting is off when you put those pipes on with the jets they gave you.
yea, but whats the right compound? and wheels? should an automotive paint store have them? or a hardware store? Are there smaller wheels for like a 4" angle grinder or a dremel for really tight spaces?
you could always put the radiator and cap to a small car on your bike. Get ya some bungi cords and duct tape...... they would match
I am kidding. stop considering it!
when I get my porting done,. I wanna polish my cylinders, clutch cover, and cases. whats a good way to do this? I have die grinders,. drills, dremel, ect. I want it to look like chrome.
I do all the riding you asked about and I prefered the stock pipes over T5`s for the MX track,. but it was a tight track. Im going to get a spare set of FMF pipes for MX to get quicker response out of turns. But as far as everyting else goes and 80% of my riding, T5`s are awesome.
Maybe I didn't understand everything correctly. Does the adapter have a volume of 1.5cc's between the bottom of the adapter and the check valve of the compression tester when it is threaded on to the end of the compression tester?
yes.
I dont know if you can get just that part. I just threw one away that was good. Check a parts finder or a dealership or find someone about to buy a new stator. It would be a pretty easy fix,. I think its just 2 phillips screws and some taps.
