Im working on a 70 chevelle I got about a year and a half ago. I took the motor out of my 80 trans am and put it in the chevelle and drove it for a bit before taking it all apart for restoration. I got the motor torn down and parted most of it out (the heads carb and intake) for some bigger ones. The block is going into the machine shop in april to be fitted with a 4.25 stroke crank 4.28 pistons on 6.135 rods to make 489ci. with the new intake carb and roller cam we are shooting for 720hp on the flywheel. After awhile I also plan on planting a roots style 8-71 on the top. The body was in ok shape it needs full quarter panels and a trunk floor. The fenders are already gone. I got the trunk floor and new deck lid for it already as well as all new glass all the way around. Put in front disc brakes. Right after the motors done whe should have the frame prepped for the body to go back on with new brake/fuel lines, bushings and rear linkage. then the sandblasted body will be primed and layed back on for final bodywork. Im hoping to have it done by this time next year, but itll probley take longer. Its sitting on weld draglites with M/T et fronts26x 3.5x15 in front and 28x11.5x15 M/T slicks on the rear. I will have the 400 tranny modified for reverse manual shift trans brake and currie GM/ford 9" rear. Of course a roll cage is goin in to or they dont let you in the track. Thats about it for my hobbies. Oh and I lift weights alot too. Drag racing-banshee ridin-weight liftin.

just remember to put it together the way it was before you took it apart. do one at a time so you have a referal off the other, make sure the slides are in right, make sure your floats are set at the right height, and I dont have a clymers so I dont know what it sez and doesnt. I like to feeler guage set my idle screw setting under the slide so I can turn them in or out even turns, and sync em right when yer done. and watch the threads on the tors/throttle caps. really easy so put on crooked and really east to strip out. and clean all the boots n filter before putting them back on too.

whats the gap measurment for a stock motor/gas mix? snot in my manual. well .030 over. not sure of comp ratio

I like the twist. All Ive had are twist on my first kx80 and my first banshee after. then it got stolen and i got a four choke from a friend because it was free and it had a thumb. I jammed my thumb alot and it got tired. when I got my newest shee,. I got a twist tors elim kit and I love it. Ive almost gotten fuct a few times in turns and hills and once on a cypress stump I didnt see hit the outside of one of my front tires and jerked my bars to one side really hard and throttle went WIDE open. almost went right off track into a tree but saved it in time. Ive gotten used to it more and more though after a half dozen 1-2 hour sessions I havent had any problems. Was just used to the thumb on the four choke I was ridin for a while. I think most people prefer thumbs though.

I havent tried those out yet. I should give em a shot one day. They a good woods/trails/mx tire? the kendas?

I think holeshot was the first (x) tread designed tire and they havve always been my favorite. From what Ive heard,. razors a just a hair better in comparison tests for an all around tire as in the design of both was voted best all around of any type brand. Any tire I put on wears out fast. I dont caer as long as the perform well. I have to pay $180 a tire for drag slicks on my car for about 30 runs. But they hook up every time.

being that cold a 270 -280 might be you. colder air is more dense,. so more oxygen molecules will be packed in a particu;ar displacement, so you`d probley be lean at 260. need more fuel to make up for the denser air. some 250-280 `s might get ya all year round. only about $2.50 a pop. but then again if your running with a lid 260 might be you. JBut yea,. try to 280`s you already have. better to run a lil rich than lean. ust gotta test n tune.

last time I needed one for my race car really quick,. I went to a trailer/hitch shop. They make alot of hydrolic lines. They can custom make just about any size and fitting. worth a shot.

fmf sez something like 260 mains 27.5 pilot stock needled clip on 3rd 1.5 turns out lid off for ballpark. but that was for your alt at 70 degrees.

way back when the x games started,. I think it was just skateboarding,. rollerblading,. and BMX. Then they added snowboarding and this and that over time. It hasnt been long since all these guys started doing all these really gnarly dirt bike tricks and then that was added in. Atvs will be next or soon now that guys are doing backflips over moving trains and grinding handrails on stairs. Im waiting to see dirtbikes and atvs on giant halfpipes! Itll happen eventually.

they are simple to build and you have the guidance of the hq and many other sources if you need help. plus youll have something to work on over time,. you wont have to save up so much for part by part, and you said you wanted to build you dream bike, which to me would be my own custom creation built for myself. Plus youll have more respect for it and take good care of when its all done. I bought my first one when I was 15 mowing grass just the same,. but I beat the shit out of it and it ended up getting stolen.

I build`t my recent one for about $2400-2500. frame to finish 85% stock. the only parts I got screwed on where all from the same seller on ebay (minkia38) ,.. carbs, coil, and a rear hub. So it wont cost you much more. You can spend between 2-3000 and get a good bike.

If I could find just the motor to one of those,. Id start another sideshow,. I mean side project.

when ours was open it was only for dirt bikes. It closed down once before and then re opened. I think the reason too was because they were`nt getting enough members to keep up the place n recondition. From what I heard it was like $400+ for a year to ride and about $30-40 for a day per person. Maybe itll reopen again one day. Its been closed for well over a year and there arent any for sale signs up or anything. (not any no trespassing either !) Id throw in some cash if the owner was ever around.
