ya the last trip over presidents day i was talkin to the sherriff out at gordons and he said that the price was gonna stay the same if you order your pass off of the internet but he also told me that you have to order the pass 2-3 weeks in advance. hope this helps. Tom

thanks for all the repiles guys. well one of the main questions that i was asking was that with a dune port will the motor rev higher causing the oem pistons to fail? or will they still be ok to run? i was planning on keeping the stock pistons till i need a new top end because the cylinders still look really good i was just gonna hone 'em and put some new rings on. but if this is gonna cause me problems i will replace the pistons also.

ok guys i did a search on this but didnt get the answers i was looking for so maybe you guys can help me out. i am in the process of redoing my motor the question i had for you was do i go with a set of weisco pistons or do i use a new set of oem yamaha pistons? the cylinders look really good no scrathes or anything so i was just gonna get them honed when i have the dune port done. the local shop that i spoke to here in phoenix. D&M racing said that i should go with the weisco's because with a dune port i will see more rpm on the motor and that the oem pistons will not support the higher rpm and the pistons will break. how does this sound to you guys? i kinda wanted to stay with the oem pistons because it seems that in my personal experience alot of people i know have had problems with wiesco. what is your opinion on wiesco pistons? or on oem pistons?

mine was also a repo me i was meeting my wife to take her out to dinner the day before her birthday and i see an '04 limited edition at a small atv dealership. this was september of '06 and i had wanted an 04 limited edition since i first saw them but never had the financial resources. so i stopped to look at it it was really clean looked brand new it still had the factory tires on it so i asked 'em how much they said 3900. so when we were at dinner i had told my wife that i looked at it she asked if i liked it and i said ya it was nice not to much more talk about it well the next day the day of HER birthday she calls my best friend while i was at work to help her go pick it up. needless to say she bought me the banshee on her birthday and gave it to me that night. 3 months later i bought her '06 special edition for her and the sickness was started for both of us.

most of the time it is just ridden at the dunes about 70 percent duning and 30 race or shootin hills but i occasionally take it out here by my house lots of open areas so when i ride its usually a fast paced ride not to many tight trails. i have about 1000 to 1500 throw down at it.

well i dont WANT to spend that much so i'll go back to my little dream world of either a dune port or a 4 mil thanks guys.
-
thanks for the replies guys. what about if i went with the aftermarket cylinder route with a stock stroke how would that compare to a dune ported 4 mill? also if i did go with the aftermarket cyinders could i use my carbs and pipes?
-
thats what i was talking about im sorry it would be a dune ported 4 mill if i go that route.
-
ok guys ive been searchin for the answers to these questions with no luck maybe you can help me. I have to pull my motor so i'm lookin to get some more power my question is how much difference is there between a dune ported motor and a 4 mill? Is it really worth all the extra money? Also if i do go with the 4 mill would i be able to keep the pipes and stuff i have now? I might try to get t5's at a later time. Also would i have to replace the carbs with a 4 mill? Or should i look into some aftermarket cylinders? like maybe cheetas? they are cheaper than the 4 mill kit.if i went with the cheetas what else would i need besides the cylinders themselves? thats all i can think of right now thanks in advance guys.Tom

does this sound like a jetting issue?
'04limited replied to '04limited's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
air screws are 1 1/2 turns out. if it is the pilots what should i got to from stock? -
the last time we were at the dunes new years a buddy of mine jumped on my bike and was shootin the hill after a few runs he came back and said that it seemed to be running lean since i put my timing plate on. i asked him why he said because after wot he would pull the clutch at the top of the hill and it didnt want to rev down that he would have to blip the throttle to rev down and that it just didnt pull as hard as his it felt like it was falling on its face. the trip before he said that my bike was faster than his the only thing i changed was the timing plate. the plate is set at +4 with a 320 main ,stock pilot ,needle on the 3rd clip do you think i need to richen it up? i think its runnin good but any info would be great.. thanks in advance. Tom

i have a buddy that just boughts the vf3's and he had to change his jetting he went from a 320 main up to a 370 because it was lean. does this sound right all he has for mods are tr6's pods and the reeds. i was thinkin about buyin the reeds but every one around here is just tellin me to buy aftermarket reeds and keep the stock cages. any reason i should get the vf3's over replacement pedals?
-
i ordered 'em thanks for the info guys.
