I started my 12 y/o boy on a honda 300ex. If I had to do it again, I would buy a stock banshee and just buy parts for it for a few years and put them on when he is ready. My son never really rode harder than he could handle in the beginning even the 300ex was too much. Now all he wants to do is ride my banshee :verymad: :yelrotflmao: Btw.. most aftermarket thumb throttles have a screw stop at the throttle. If worried, just screw it in to stop the throttle early.

You guys might wanna set the date for one week earlier. April 2 is the Snakehunt. I know from experience that those crazy snakehuntin mofos start renting the campsites at least one week before the hunt, and they start arriving there a few days early. That weekend will get a little nutz. I'm in either way, but vote for the comfort of the earlier weekend.

I have a 2003 Polaris Predator 90cc. I bought it for my daughter. Has run really good for about a year now. We have not ridden for a few months, last weekend we rode, and had problems with it. It will start and idle fine. When trying to take off, it wants to die. You can choke 1/2 to 3/4 and it will take off strong. When returns to idle it dies if you dont turn choke off. I removed and cleaned carb, but it didn't help at all. It seems like it is very lean at WOT, but I never changed anything. Anybody have any insight that might save me a little time? Maybe a common problem for these bikes? Thanks

I agree with last post. But, when changing jets, I have not always had to remove the carbs, just loosened the intake clamps and rotated carbs enough to remove the bowls. You can then easily change the jets. Watch your choke tube, you will need to make sure it is still connected when you re-clamp the carbs. This will not work though if you still have TORS on.

And..... With your setup, you have to be buyin race gas or something. I know race gas runs about 5.50/gal minimum here. You can pump methanol for 1.95/gal, and buy for 1.75/gal by the drum. Even if you use 2x, you are still ahead.
