I squeezed the rubber mount into the wholes. By tightening the screws it simply compressed the rubber inside the whole & fits very snug. Don't have to cut anything. I took the screws to the local wardware, told them I wanted the same screw but loonger & bigger washers. So that holds it all together! I had the same problem where the plastic would not line up. I didn't like how the tank would rest where the seat rests so I simply shaved off the ends so the tank would sit flush on the frame. That allowed the screws from the hardware store to fit just perfect. Hope this helps.

I see that coffin tuck material at the local swap meets all the time! I personally don't like the look, it' doesn't look sporty. I really like the checkered seats that Atvcovers.com has.

I don't see why not. As long as they're standard travel for the stock a arms. Any mod you can do to your stock suspension is a big plus. Specially when replacing stock shox. They suck!
