  1. Rodger and larry told me to spray wd-40 on them after a wash and work the a-arms up down a couple of times to work the oil down in the heims. They are the manufactures and deal with all r&d and warranty problems. Thats what they do on their quads as well. I spray wd-40 on mine, I have the heavy duty joints, run mostly pismo/sand, haven't had a problem yet, no signs of wear. They have just develpoed a new cover system for their heim, it has aluminum cap cover with a rubber boot on the spindle side. Supposed to take care of any debree getting in and will hold lube in, making it pretty much idiot proof for care an maintance. They are having the rubber boots manufactured right now and the new heims will be on the market soon.
  2. samdust, you said you have never done any kind of jetting. Didn't know you bought your shee already altered. sorry, thought you just put pipes on, and that would explain why you think of lean and bluing of you pipes.
  3. Sorry Barrymaxx didn't mean to take this another direction. I ran my shee with t-5, reeds, jet and filter, +4 timing for 5 years and 40-1 with 927, never had a problem. Tore it down to port it and it was still fresh. Lost some compression, but nothing that required a rebuild. If you treat her nicely she will do the same in return.
  4. Samdust, i see pipes on your picture. I hope you rejetted for the pipes, if not you are lean, and you probably don't have long on your motor. I have the v2 and love them, the three's are even better. They will not make a huge difference right now, but when/if you get some porting done it will.
  5. Hey SAMDUST, I run 40-1 927 oil and its just fine. The bigger the number before the one is fuel to oil ratio. 24-1 is a lot of oil not lean. If you are running lean it is in the jetting of your carbs not the oil ratio number. The oil is in the gas to lube the cylinder walls and bottom end. Your crank is not in any oil and gets lubed by the oil in the fuel as it gets sucked into the engine before it goes up the ports into your cylinder. Blue pipes are because of the oil ratio. What type of oil do you run? Have you checked your plugs to see if you are rich or lean?
  6. Fireball makes aftermarket j arms with hiem joints and would a lot less than $1000.00, get nice 4130 chrome moly arms with chrome or powder coating. You might dry sanddragon see if he has a set.
  7. The trade would be a good one, but have your son's banshee ported for the cpi pipes. The builder or person doing the port will port the jug for the type of pipe and style of port you want. IE dune port,mx woods, drag, he or she will want to do that port work based on the type of pipes you are running.
  8. I ran a 15 tooth up front before porting and it pulled it just fine. I ride dunes mostly and the 15t made first gear a lot more useable. Could still drop the clutch in 2nd dragging and not bog. Front tooth is also a lot cheaper to buy to see if you like the gearing better.
  9. I have run 927 for 5 years, never had a problem. Rebuilt the motor recently to upgrade and when it was apart everything still looked fresh inside. No complaints about 927. Never had fouling problems, run 40:1 from 20 degrees in winter to 110 in summer.
  10. Fireball is a very strong a-arm they make the +2,+1 mx arms and the +3+1 long travel. They are a company that manufactures a-arms and swing arms for other well known companies. High quality 4130 with awesome welds. They use the heim joint, i would get the stronger heim's. I have the +2+1 with Elka piggybacks and I love them. They also come with a lifetime warranty. It's harder to find Fireball named products here in the U.S. because they are making them for companies and I am sure those companies have agreements with Fireball not to be in competition with the manufacturer. You will not find a web site for Fireball, they do not have one. There are other good a-arms out there as well, but you will love these and probably break the quad before the arms. Just my 2 cents.
