  1. That must be based off the 94 Purple and Yellow color.
  2. I thought about going with those colors to match my 03 LE Raptor 660R.
  3. In yamaha's web pics you cant really see the purple. It looks like it just has siver outlined medevil flames. They are really purple. I think if I build me another banshee I would do the 2006 50th anniversary colors. The yellow and black retro graphics. Here is my 97 banshee with the 06 LE plastic.
  4. When ever your having withdrawls just sit on it and act like your riding.
  5. It made my banshee run cooler. Maybe all aftermarket radiators arent equal. I got the PD one because it was the biggest looking one. Has big end tanks and and barly fits under the radiator cover. It takes 1 and 1/4 jugs of engine ice to fill up, where the stock one can be fill with just a little over 3/4 of a jug. And it is bare aluminum instead of painted aluminum.
  6. My manual says 2.64 US Quarts. 2 quarts make 1/2 gallon. I cant ever get a full half gallon of engine Ice in my banshee. I would say you have it full. Just make sure it doesnt over heat. josh
  7. So increasing the surface area of the radiator and increasing capacity of the cooling system does nothing? My banshee ran ran 190 tearing down gravel roads. Now that I have my pd radiator it runs 160. It runs 180 trail riding off the pipe at slow speeds. josh
  8. I would run belray 80 w gear saver oil. It is made for 2 stroke transmissions. You dont want a hypoid gear oil that stuff is made for differentials. josh
  9. I would also put a little 2 stroke oil in the crank case and on top of the pistons. I am sure that everything is going to be dry. josh
  10. I would just pull the head off and look at the cylinders. See if they are rusted. If not I would clean the carbs check fluids and fire it up. Then drain the oil and coolant and put new in. josh
  11. I have a Pro designe on mine. It helped out a bunch. I do some trail riding and playing around at a hill climb when I go riding. I dont really even have to worry about it overheating now. I would run engine Ice too. If you get a larger radiator you will need 2 jugs. dajo was selling 3 boss radiators on ebay. 299 with free shipping. My PD was 375 shipped so it is a pretty good deal. josh
  12. When you stratch chrome it will rust again. so buy using sand paper your only going to make the problem worse. try using 000 or 0000 steel wool.
  13. No I never ran won with a gauge. You can try one if you want. There just isnt enough surface area to dissapate heat to make a noticable difference. The fins are thick so they wont dissapate heat as well. When you put it in the lower rad hose it is sitting between 2 hot exhaust pipes so there isnt much cooling that is going to take place. If you had a lathe you could make one your self.
  14. Yea the hotwires only come with the end that snaps on the spark plugs. The coil come with the other ends, the ones that snap on to the coil. josh
  15. They really dont work. I do keep on on hand incase I blow a hose. They work great at splicing the hoses back to gether. I would buy a half gallon of engine Ice Before I would buy one of those.
  16. Nology Coil with Nology Hotwires. Banshee started much easier with it on. I also run B8ES non resistor plugs. Jeff at fast has the best price on the kit. You will need to make a mounting bracket, but that is pretty easy. Just use a small pice of angle Iron. The nice thing about the coil is you can chage plug wires just like on a car. You could also get a MSD Superconductor kit if you didnt want to run the expensive hot wires. Make your own custom wires for the nology coil too. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.a...mp;autoview=sku http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/partdetail.asp?partid=46
  17. Call them up and see what they say. Maybe they sent you one for a CR twist throttle intead of the stock thumb throtte. I believe PWK carbs use the same cable as the stock carbs with tors eliminator kit so maybe you can find one of those close to you. What is the part number on the package? josh
  18. New throttle cable should come with it. What brand of cable is it? My Motion Pro cable came with one. Where did you get the cable from. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Bans...sspagenameZWDVW
  19. You cant report them for the 4 mill. 4 mill crank allows the piston to fall 2mm farther down in to the cylinder, it also pops up 2mm out of the cylinder. First thing a 4 mill port job does is lower the intake and transer ports down 2mm. So when the piston is at bdc the ports are even with the top of the piston head. Your stock stroke cylinders have alreay huge ports. You cannot take 2mm of the bottom of the ports because it will make it run like crap. they will be to big. just call up www.nossmachine.com they will have the domes you need for your cool head. BHQ members get 10% off too. josh
  20. You wont loose a lot you just wont gain near as much. When you port a 2 stroke it is like putting in an aftermarket cam shaft in a 4 stroke. The porting controls when air and fuel go in and when exhaust goes out.
  21. If you have the stock stroke long rod crank then you just run the same pistons you ran with it. You ethire need to run Cut Stroker domes or the Cylinder Spacer Plate. Cut domes is the way to go. There is no other work that is nessessary for the crank. Port work would be a great bonus but not requrired. josh
  22. I run the ESR one on my Raptor. It is a good unit. On my banshee I just have a trail tech vapor. It has an engine temp with warning lights.
  23. A trail or dune ported banshee will not have the top end a cub has. The cub is a drag ported cylinder right out of the box. The banshee is a very give and take motor. You have to give something up before you can get something in return. Get a pair of Jugs ported. Keep the Cub for now. Try the new ported jugs out. If you dont like them put the cub back on and put the ported jugs on your wife's banshee. Maybe get a hot trail port. Try them out. Not agressive enought slap them on the wife's shee and get the other pair of cylinders dune ported. You cant have 4stroke bottom end and cub top end power out of the same motor. josh
  24. Yep. Long Rod Crank 795 Pistons Cut Cool Head Stroker Domes Port work is preferd but not required to make it run.
  25. Why waite. The head wont require any jetting change.
