  1. insted of pulling the clutch in and out, you can just steadily feed it in while holding it at full throttle to control your rpm's and wheelspin, thats what i do.
  2. jeff can port for bottom end. the problem is that not what he asked for, he asked for a dune port, and shoulda got a wood port..
  3. get new tires and run him again...my FAST dune port hauls ass in the dirt with holeshot HD's..
  4. if its a digital camera, if you got into the photo options menu or whatever, there should be on option for close-ups, its usually the sillhouette of a flower..
  5. doesn't matter, he told you which one to drill and it was the wrong one.
  6. go back to the dealer and tell them they're buying you new carbs. thats what i'd do..
  7. i meant length, i dunno how that snuck in there on me....lol
  8. from what i udnerstand, alky motors are alot more sensitve to being run lean or too much timing. am i right or wrong? i really don't know much about alky... and, yes, when ever last hp is critical, its worth if you have the money. to me, it would never be worth cuz i just ride dunes/desert, and all the dynos in my area charge $20-$30 and around $100 to "rent" the dyno, so its just not worth it to me..
  9. i'm sure yuo can get more by spending hours on the dyno, but the standard curves it comes with are gonna be on the "safe" side so your not gonna see much more gain then just using the timing plate if you're not gonna spend the time on the dyno. that and stock port timings don't react as much to timing advance as a drag motor. even on my dune port, jeff only reccomended +5 timing
  10. you already have a timing plate at +4 so...the only way you are going to notice a power increase is to get it tuned on a dyno, and then you'll know that you have another 2-3hp, nothing you'll really feel in the seat of the pants..
  11. no they're not. they come trued to .003", but i think jeff gets 'em to .001". but they don't come welded.
  12. i think he either has too many paddles, or he just needs to learn how to ride the new motor....getting out of the hole is gonna be different than with a stock port. and there is no way you are falling off the pipe if you are redlining the motor and dropping the clutch in first gear..
  13. i have an aggresive dune port from jeff. the trick with it is to start in second and you have to slip the clutch, otherwise it'll spin the rears for like ten feet and then fall off the pipe...that is of course on sand with 8 paddle haulers and 14/41 gearing... DON"T get the 2 into 1 carb for that motor, i've had bad luck with mine in the dunes. and it makes the the left side run a lil leaner then the right. you need to adjst your riding style to the motor, trust me on this one. it took me awhile to get used to it..
  14. umm, stock banshee jugs are sleeved... post up some pix of your problem area in the cylinder, we should be able to tell if its salvageable or not..
  15. i'm pretty sure lonestar still does it. and the ultimate long travel desert bike is the sundahl chassis, 16in travel in the front and 18in of travel in the rear..
  16. hotrods is fine. and the crank alone is usually $350-400. if your buyin a crank, i suggest you get it trued and welded, or buy one from a builder that already has it done. i know jeff @ f.a.s.t. sells hotrods cranks (stock stroke and rod lenght) trued and welded for $400
  17. hell ya, but they haven'tanything new in a long ass time.... i like martyr machine the best..
  18. call 'em, cuz i don't know. i'm pretty sure lonestar will still build ya one if laeger won't. and i know you put this in the mx forum, but what are you gonna use the bike for?
  19. don't buy a new stock rear shock to revalve it, just get it done to yours. I'm still say an aftermarket shock is better, cuz i'm thoroughly dissappointed with my redone stocker..
  20. scotts is definetly the only way to go for a steering stabilizer
  21. www.farmandsandtoys.com give jeff a call. he usually has a few trued/welded cranks ready to go. and yes it will be a hot rods crank.
  22. measure the inside diameter of the small side of the carb, that'll tell you what size they are..
  23. thats what i was thinkin, a well ported 4mil cub usually makes about htat form what i understand..
  24. if you have 35mm duals, those carbs are WAY to huge..
  25. upload the pix to photobucket and copy th img code over..
