is jetting a must when changing domes ?

i ve dealt with my local shop alot(always like to help local shops), sometimes good sometimes bad, finally got tired of getting screwed.ive ordered from jeff acouple of times and now he has all my business.

im running 50/50 because i have my timing on 4 1/2..... think i may jump it to 5...... i was thinking of going 18 if i do... i bought a set of 17 but my buddies say i could try his 18's first. if anyone needs some 17's i go a set brand new..... my bikes like a freak of nature... bought for $500 in pieces... put the whole bike together, frame cracked missing half the bolt. rewelded the frame ,spray painted it... and so on. this bike is FAST.... and never breaks down. thats why im so back in forth on the cool head. i guess im just wanting somebody to say the o-ring arent really that bad and its really now problem.lol !! i kind of like the saying "if its not broken dont fix it ".... BUT.... i always am looking to go faster, and more torque is POWER !!!

what im trying to say is , its runs damn good right now.... starts on first kick,holeshots in second gear and i dont mind race gas(i run it straight in my kawi). i guess im trying to say is ive heard so many people say they hate cool heads because of the o-rings. im just not sure i want ot mes with them,but.... i do want more compression.im at 140 now--- id like to be around 165 . but... not sure if i need it, you want more compression to pull hard out of the hole. well mine pulls great !! but you dont want to much or it would hurt u on top end ,right ....

here's my problem.... i have a k&t head with a set of 18-17 domes. right now im running a shaved head(.030). after i had my cyln drag ported my compression was 140lbs on my new rebuild.this bikes pretty much just a drag race/play bike. my problem is , my bike started everytime on 1st kick... and runs good. im running a 22 inch 9 paddle tripple buff hauler. this bike comes out of the hole in second great abd pulls hard. ive heard so many people complain of dealing with o-rings. im running c-12 race gas 50/50 right now,if i go with the 18 domes i'll have to go 100% r-gas.. this bike runs great,should i go with the head and try and get more torque ?? i always hear 165lbs is great for compression , im at 140lbs.

i was at my local atv shop today. owner has put together of 421 4mill cub motors, he was working on a bike today that was a 435 4mill...... he said u an order them like that. is anyone running a 435 4mill ?

cool... im not trying to build one, just got to thinking about wgat kind of set ups you were running. my stock cylns are drag ported ... so all its good for is keeping the throttle pinned !!! plus my bike sits to low to the ground. just wanted to see what a hill climbing bike would be compared to drag,mx or dune bike.

hills .like in the video's rippen has.... do you like low end torque and low gearing ???

this is for rippen/friends and anyone else that shoots those hills !! what would be the best set up for a hill shooter ? gearing ,porting,suspention ,compression ????? i read you all say "building a hill shooter" ....... what would be a great hill shooter. you have mx, sand drag,and asphalt bikes....... throw down some info on hill shooter's.

easiest way to get stock head bolts out .

i ordered a pair from bansheesuperstore--12" black and chrome.... $120 i think. my a-arms sit flat....or go 300 ex shocks

id ask who ever will be doing your porting.i had a drag port done and my builder said not over 34.so.... i went with 34 pj's .....lol!!!

throw some pj's on. easy to rejet.

id get some 280-310 to try. throw the 300's in and work down if you need to. what are you mixing ur gas at ? better to be alittle rich then lean !!! at least you were smart enough to not ride it and to ask first !!!!

what size jets u running ? whats your elevation ? what do your plugs look like ? do a search on plug chops.... that will help you out. yamaha shop sells the jets.

2 hrs.... thats not right !! it takes my group 8 hrs just to go up and play.so lucky ............ have fun with your shee !!

well, are you in need of a top end ?? if not i'd do the head and save up for the port. they head isnt going to give you the power a port will but if moneys tight ,id save up.

its a still a craptor ,it will break down !! lol !! no,really ... i hope it doesnt . he has to much money in that damn thing.
