well i just got my domes in on tues.. so i havent put the head on yet. i just figured 140lbs with a shaved.30 head(19-20 dome) was low so i got the 17 to try and bump comp.. up to 160 range. u think that will hurt me in a 300 ft drag ??

this comes from the thread i had a couple of months ago--pipes--dyno ??........ im going twith a 17 dome for my k&t head and was thinking about putting my cpi's back on. id really like to get some in frame but dont want to fork out the cash yet...lol

well ,i asked because when i got these pipes from my friend he said they were small bores... but the tips were broken off. he ran them like that and said his bike ran good. i had some pipe welded on for tips,could that cause a problem ??

i had mine drag ported and 0nly had 140 /142 on a new top end..... with a .30 thous shaved head.

what kind of shape is your wiring harness,my buddies shee did that .ended up being a short in harness.

im running a stock head right now...shaved .30 thousands(19-20 )dome. after my portjob and new top end im only running 140lbs of compression.. thats why i am going to a 17 dome , to try and bump my compression. after looking at my mods,u think i could run cpi/shear in frames ??? ive raced a 4mill stock cyln at little sahara(oklahoma) in march and had no problem with it. my friend is going to put a 4 mill in his stock cyln bike. at this point ,im not sure i really need a lock out clutch....

thats what i want-- a bad a$$ sleeper.... i have a drag port,+5 timing,f.a.s.t. clutch,bored .40 over,shaved fly wheel,std hot rod crank,34 pj's,k&n pods,boysen reeds,reed spacers,just got my k&t head--17 domes,looking at getting some inframe drag pipes. its right on a 4 mill cubs ass.... they pull me alittle on top.... about a bike and a 1/2

if you were going to build a bad a$$ stock cyln..std crank banshee , how would you build it ?? more or less a drag bike .... baddest 350 . id like to hear your .02.. carbs ,pipes,domes,gas-alky,porting any thing you can come up with.

is there any way to tell the diffrence between a big/small bore drag pipe by looking at it. i have a set of used cpi's and bike didnt like them on the top end.friends wondered if maybe they were big bore's instead of small ... ??????????

no no... this isnt about the dyno run..sorry.. this is about me going to a 17 dome and wondering if i should go with a cpi/shear drag pipe or go with a toomey ?? i really wish i could put my cpi's out of frames back on. the whole thing with them was..... they felt strong till the top end. then they felt rich--- it wouldnt fall on its face but it wouldnt pull hard. my port job is mostley top end so it was hurting me,put it on dyno and everybody said way to rich..dropped mains and still cut out some on top. buddy said pipes were small bores--others say it acted like i had big bores.he used to run them and said they ran good,when he had them the tips were broke off(stingers).. i had some pipe welded on for tips.

well im bringing this old post back up. sorry--lol !! ive decidied to put a k&t head with 17 domes on my shee.. as stated before not good luck with my out of frames,put my old fmf's back on and ran better. well i have a drag port done on stock cyln and im sure the fmfs arent the best for it on top end. im wondering if i should go ahead and get inframe drag pipes are toomey's.... the cpi out of frames i have are on their third owner. i got them from a frienf,he said they were small bores..... as stated at begaining of thread...my motor did not like them !!!! is there any way to tell if they are a big/small bore ??? my compression is about 140 ish with my drag port.... thats why im going with the 17' domes (i know race gas....) do you thinkl the added compression will be enough for drag pipes ??

thanks ... im not the 1 buying it,i have std hot rod ,stock cyln, drag ported... just ordered some 17 domes.my buddy is looking 4 the 4 mill crank. thought about putting my 34pjs on alky...

dajogejr...... i ment to ask you if youd like this crank. i had my oldone that separated but i threw it away because were the key goes was all messed up.i was going to junk this one to but you are more than welcome to it. pm me a address and ill send it out when i get a chance. i also have 4 mill cut domes that i got from a friend with a cool head. i was going to give them to my buddy if when he gets a crank... so am i just looking for a 4 mill or 4 mill long rod ??

thanks for the info and help... i took a look at it and the crank has started to separate. im not going to risk fixing and putting it in my buddies motor,mine maybe but a friends no. he's decided to save up for a 4 mill crank(going to use stock cyln).... so im keeping my eye out for a 4 mill crank. is there a diff.. compared to the 4 mill in a cub ?? would he need a long rod or not ?? im trying to talk him in to sending cyln. and all to jeff and get it done right !!!

i have a stock crank that i was going to hook my buddy up with... his hot rod f@#ked up... i was going to throw the stocker in for now so he could ride till he gets the money for a 4mill hot rod,porting and more... the stock crank i have ,one of the rod bearings is shot,the rod pretty sloppy,can u fix that, we have a shop in town that does atv repair work,been working to much to get down there.what do you all think,just trying to help a buddy out. thanks... rico

u should beat it.... my buddy has a praire 700-with a fundy 730 kit,ported -carbs everything.... he's about 300lbs but i walk all over him..eben my other friend that weights the same as me will ride his and i still walk all over it... he doesnt get a good bite in the sand even tacky sand,on dirt that4*4 will grab the hole shot... just dont get cocky... i run vp's c-12 gas in mine... 108 octain i think..
