  1. Big bore sleeves have a larger OD.. Which = less transfer area. The sleeves I had were damn near right on top of the cylinder studs. Most of the cylinders I have see with bigbore sleeves usually have the transfers welded up. I've even seen some stock bore cylinders with the tranfers welded.. They might make good power for the trails and what not.. but.. for drag racing the stock bore cylinders are putting down better times around here.
  2. He had to use that intake since Duncan was his sponsor.. and they built the bike for him. I was on duncan's support team back in the day and I had to use their exhaust and shit... I like the pipes.. but the rest of the stuff is junk. That intake is just a rebadged pro-design. I dont use boost bottles or balance tubes anymore.. ALOT cleaner looking and they dont do shit either way..
  3. hey.. if they dont work.. you can send them my way! lol
  4. whats the model number on the VF3's? V305B?
  5. detonation is caused by alot of things. usually jetting. Not saying that your jetting was off.. but a airleak changes your jetting wich makes the motor run lean.. Lean conditons run hot, and that inturn brings on detonation. Incorrect dome designs can be more prone to detonation then others also. as stated before.. A crank being out of phase can cause detonation also as it could increase your timing to some ungodly amount.
  6. u sure it was CR500 intakes and reeds and not CR250's? I thought only the bigger DM's used CR500 intake. I know the smaller DM's use a adapter plate to fit the CR500. Onewickcrewcab and Blewbyu use CR250 on their cheetah's.
  7. At this point for the most part.. I will agree. BUT.... at this stage of development its about the same as what the DM was over the cheetah. there IS more power to be made. The builders are just now starting to really find it. By this time next year the DMX will be a powerhouse. I know of a 18DMX that is just flat out nasty!!!
  8. Give him the axe.. we dont need him here pedaling his shit and fucking people over..
  9. I agree... something needs to be done about shity deals that arn't made right for the buyer. could also use some more mods to give Loco a hand..
  10.
  11. I was jus gonna say it look like deto. Probably caused from lean condition (air leak). If something is wrong with a motor and I'm about to tear it down.. I always do a leak down test to rule that out first. You gotta make or buy a leak down tester.
  12. Bigger bore, intakes and trasnfers. They need ALOT more case work over a cheetah to fit the 78mm bore pistons. They use the CR500 style intakes as compared to the CR250's all though some of the smaller mil DM's still use the CR250 style with intake adapters. A cub uses all stock componets. Stock head, Reeds, pipes.. None of these will fit on a DM or cheetah hence the term Cheetah cub. The Cheetah use bigger reeds/intakes, different head and bigger flange on the exhaust. and the bore goes up to 73mm compared to the 68mm. Although I think I have heard of some 74mm cheetahs out there. In short.. The Cheetah DM (Dominate Male) goes even further then the cheetah with a 78mm bore, bigger reeds/intakes, and bigger exhaust flanges if the builder prefers as the exhaust flanges are removeable. Then you have the Cheetah DMX wich is a 85mm bore.
  13. Go ahead, Call me out all you want.... I got my opinion and no one will change it. I STILL think builders put more effort/time into their personal/shop bikes and their sponsored riders/friends builds then the average joe blow build... I can give lots of examples.. but the open forum isn't the place for that. If anyone happens to catch me in chat I'd be more then happy to explain myself. But its not needed for me to write a novel here about this subject.
  14. kinda describe the problem and we might beable to help ya out.
  15. shearer sends out spring mounts with the pipes.. They go underneath the nut on the cylinder studs. I sent a few to onesickcrewcab and docjcwatson. Maybe they can take a pic of them for ya.
  16. With all the BS he always has going on.. I dont think I'd send that guy a nickle. He has a few good deals.. next thing you know another drama "poor me.. poor me.." "my fucked up GF poured milk in my car.. so I bashed her lawn gnomes.. blah blah blah.." Then he's gone for a few months and peoples shit gets lost.. Just my take on the dude...
  17. whats your definition of "competitive"? lol
  18. on that build.. my vote would go to a chariot reed cage.
  19. I use 1.5-2lbs in my paddles. Same concept. 6lbs is definately over inflated... that would spin like a mofo for sure.
  20. I just got the slingshot and not very familiar with it.. especially since my motor isn't even done yet.. But... I'll be using the 7plate clutch on the new build..
  21. 10mil huh??
  22. did it pass a leak down after you assembled the topend?
  23. Make sure your sparkies are on!!! lol They almost got me on labor day.. I just got done with a run and got back onto the start line.. then a DNR truck come flyin out of no where and fliped the lights on. Ran out of his truck and said you dont have spark arrestors. I was like "I dont??" "Isn't that what them big shitty looking things are? and (laughed about it)" he said " Ohh.. didn't see them, Just saw the flash of chrome and thought you weren't runing any... Sorry about that." I was like "no problem" I wasn't pissed at him.. he was just doing his job.... Yeha the rule sucks.. but... It is what it is.. like it or not.. If you dont like it and choose not use us spark arrestor.. then we you get caught... take it like man and dont bitch about it..
  24. You break the law.. your rolling the dice.. If you dont like to gamble.. Dont break the law. Its pretty simple. Yeah we need sparkies here too.. but.. if we dont use them. its $150 or we dont ride.. hmm.. I think logic tells me to use the sparkies. It cracks me up when people complain about getting caught and payin the price. Yeah.. there is dick head LEO's out there.. but.. They gotta do what they gotta do. and if you know there out there.. Then dont do anything wrong.. and you wont have a problem.
  25. I agree with rubberneck.. Straight cuts arn't needed on a build that size. If you got the coin.. feel free. Its good insurance, just not needed.
