  1. Been using benol for years.. no problems here. I dont run in the winter or I'd use supertech.
  2. I'll be pullin in Friday morning.. By the way Roger... Would it be alright if I tried your 16's if your not using them? I think the 16 rippers are too much and need to try a few things before winter.
  3. the WSM pistons come with larger windows.
  4. I prefer the 28pwks myself.. You can pick a set up for under 100 used on ebay.
  5. I'm gonna try to get some CPI's for next season.
  6. So what are we up to now Jeff? About 15ish? that would make for a awesome day a racing!
  7. Dave... is that your way of saying " I'll see ya there!!" lol
  8. At this point.. it looks like Sunday is the day. I saw JT was in for Sunday also. Is this a track rental? How many guys do we need to make this fly and how many are in so far?
  9. ??? :blink::rolleyes:
  10. yeah.. I'd say about 75ish give or take.. I've never seen a triple port on gas though.. so I'd have to say it could see 85ish hp on gas...
  11. I'm all in if its on sunday!!!
  12. Pablo didn't say you did... He replied to your post. Then he typed "also.. snop" so the comment about 90hp stuff was directed towards snop.
  13. we had a bunch of stock cylinder engines in drag chassis's here too.. And they flat out ripped!! They were running 4.2's and 4.1's in 300' on our slower MI tracks. Also..we have a stock stroke 350 (in a drag chassis) here in MI that runs 3.9's all day.. I dont think pablo was saying that it can't be fast.. but to say but "it will tear anything less than 90hp a new asshole on the drag strip. " is simply not true. On a side note.. I've yet to see any impressive times from a zilla based motor on any of our tracks.
  14. I've always used stock coils on all my builds.
  15. Maybe try Dan Hull @ A&S
  16. With so many variables involved dyno to dyno, it is impossible to make a "accurate assessment" of performance from one motor to another based of dyno#'s A dyno is simply a tuning tool used to measure changes in performance made on the same engine on the same day. You could be tunning all day and peak hp might 120hp.. come in the next day with the bike still strapped in and it will only make 117hp with no changes made. Now.. as a dyno operator.. you could use the data logged from other bikes to make a estimated assessment on where it stands and where you should start with setup. But.. its still just a estimate. Nothing is 100% accurate from a dyno. and As Dave said.. HP is only one part of the formula.. you can't have HP without torque.
  17. I've seen dyno's vary as much as 15%... You can't use dyno #'s from 2 different dyno's to compare 2 bikes. Every dyno has a reputation, Some read high, some read low..
  18. He's saying that just because it makes big numbers on one person's dyno.. Dont mean that motor will be fast. Every dyno reads different, and every dyno reads different one day to the next.. One motor could make 100hp one day.. come in a week later without touching it and make 90hp. A dyno is only a tuning tool to compare changes/parts on the SAME bike.. the SAME day. Using a dyno to compare two bikes is useless.
  19. Yep, I'll agree with Dajogejr. That rubber boot will not cause a lean condition. It would pull more air from the cable going through the cap. I'd be looking else where. I'd be leaning towards fuel supply. Depending how far you want to investigate.. also check the crank for any twisting if it hasn't been welded.
  20. WSM makes a quality piston.. I prefer them over wiseco myself.. But thats just my opinion. I used them in my 4mil for 2yrs with ALOT of passes and they came out in great shape.
  21. Alot of nice parts here guys... get them while you can. TTT
  22. I do consider a 90hp 660 based motor a "monster" build. It takes quite a bit to get a raptor to 90hp. A 4.1 is VERY respectable for a 4 stroke. I'm sure its a close run in the dunes.. but at a track they start to separate. I was running 4.1's with my 421 cub and I'm 220lbs. Everyone knows a 421cub is considered small by banshee standards for drag racing. The name of this thread is "Still king of drag?" At this point in time.. there is no 4 stroke atv based engine (of any size) that can hang anywhere near the bigger banshee based twins on a track.
  23. yeah.. I'll agree.. Its gonna take one MONSTER built raptor to keep up with a average 10mil cub on alky. Numbers dont lie. Post some track times.
  24. I use a X-ring for sand.. But.. Only cuz I'm a lazy and dont like to clean and lube my chain alot . I actually did have a non sealed chain goin on my bike this year (RK MXZ3) but I changed my mind on it because I wanted to get away from the clip type master links and I found a master link that I liked.. but was only available for a x-ring chain (EK SRX). I'm just kinda paranoid about case damage for some reason, so I try to take every precaution. So.. For Sand either will work. But definately a sealed chain for water and mud.
  25. The D shaped slide is actually the only rounded face slide out of the top 5 carbs. Mikuni's TM, TMX and lectrons all have flat faces as well as the PJ even though its called a oval slide. I dont think the shape of the slide has as much to do with throttle response as much as other differences in carb designs like emulsion tube lengths, venting and what not. I wouldn't say that one is inferior to the other. I think each carb has its place. Being that the PJ carbs are so common and cheap I think that makes them a more popular choice over the 33pwk. Dan hull suggested 34pj's to Bansheedan on his build over 33 and 35pwks.
