long story short, last sunday i spent 2 hours in the hospital. had a cat scan, sang the alphabet, walked a straight line while counting to 10 with my finger on my nose (LTM stuff). i got a concussion some nasty road rash (read big rock rosh) an extremely soar collar/shoulder i had short term memory loss for the better part of 2 days and still dont remember sunday at all. not even the trip or loading up the bike or even planning to go riding at all that day, nothing. worst thing is i was told i was only making a very slow turn around on the dirtbike. and the front tire slid out too which i did a head plant onto a ~12x12 rock. just glad i was wearing the bucket, if i was that bad with it on.... i would be mucked up bad veggie style if i didnt

bike is located in Springfield IL. i will deliver within a couple hundred miles for a small fee of $0.25 a mile. i've owned the bike since January of this year since i've owned it, i've only used Yamalube 2-R oil with 93 pump gas at 40:1 mixture it has toomey T5 pipes and silencers. pipes need repainted (see pictures) i might take care of that before i sell it. also has Toomey filter and jet kit (280 main) still has the stock airbox and lid but no snorkel DG aluminum nerf bars. i have the factory heel guards that work with these nerfs. which i will reinstall. YFZ450 shocks on the front FMF shock covers all around comes with but not installed DG aluminum grab bar also comes with but not installed is a new Pro Armor tether kill switch IL OHV sticker good til next April race cut front fenders (see pics) stock tires all around (with a decent amount of tread life left still has TORS on it but its disconnected. other then those mods, the bike is completely stock. still has a fair amount of chain adjustment left in it as well bad things. plastics are scratched up from trail riding (normal riding wear). there is minor rusting areas around some welds on the frame where the factory paint has chipped off. nothing major at all. the kick starter rattles which is annoying. and i bent the front brake lever, and when trying to bend it back, it snapped off. its about 1 inch shorter then stock and still useable other then that stuff, the bike is in great shape i have the title. buyer will get it plus a bill of sale. also a new Clymers repair manual and a whip flag serious inquiries only please. i am a motivated seller asking $3300. you can contact me at 217-341-4043 cell# if i dont answer, leave a message and i will call you back! pictures say a thousand words.... http://i6.tinypic.com/1zf7v2h.jpg http://i6.tinypic.com/1zf7xtx.jpg http://i6.tinypic.com/1zfh3iv.jpg http://i6.tinypic.com/1zfha14.jpg http://i6.tinypic.com/1zfhiqe.jpg http://i6.tinypic.com/1zfhldc.jpg http://i6.tinypic.com/1zfhmo7.jpg http://i6.tinypic.com/1zfhp38.jpg http://i6.tinypic.com/1zfhs11.jpg video clip... http://video.tinypic.com/player.php?v=1zfikrb thanks Steve

i wouldnt rule 2 strokes out yet. some of the new 2 stroke boat motors are more reliable, longer lasting and cleaner then their 4 stroke equivilents... never know. -
weather isnt looking good for the next few days :yankyank:

sounds good man. i like riding spots like that. hopefully it is better then Pekin, that place is lame. i'll PM you sometime soon. i also edited my 1st post as i put my old # in there. it now has the new one in it :baseball_sleep:

i'm not sure what i will be doing in july. im in the process of moving to Dekalb right now. dont know how much free time i'll have next month or any time after once i start working again. what else do you have left to do to it?
-
i'm not sure what a good date is for everyone so post up when you are available. also if you know how much it costs and if you need the OHV/conservation sticker to ride there (much info as possible) i'm pretty much good to go on any day this month LOL i'm not working right now so riding is good time killer for me i think i could get "eazy" (adam) from Mason City to go as well and maybe a couple other non shee riders from here (a z400 and 400ex) since i got my truck running now, i'm itching bad to go riding again! 217-341-4043 is my cell# the more the better Steve (MM)

sorry guys. my truck was down with a broken timing belt and i just got it going again this Thurs night. i really want too make Badlands again for sure before i move to Dekalb. plus my internet time is limited as i destroyed my laptop with a baseball bat a couple weeks ago :baseball_bat: its hard for me to keep in touch with meeting up i'm gonna make a post about Astoria to see if we can get some people to go sometime. i havent been there but i love hillclimbs MM
-
i'll see what i can do, a trip back there is a must. love that place
-
thats pretty cool but pricey for the universal system....have to think about that option. i do like the idea behind it tho!
-
where should i look for the cam type throttle?
-
i'm not trying to be kinder or gentler to her lol she is a Marine, yes, USMC for 5 years. in a sense, kinder and gentler have no meaning to her...but ease of operation does for a beginner. she has quad experience from when she was younger but 2 wheels is a whole other ballpark...especially a 2 stroke i appreciate your input on whether or not a thumb throttle is doable on a dirtbike (the original topic) MM
-
i didnt know "riding properly" meant having a twist throttle!? i'm not taking her racing. she isnt learning to race. she isnt starting a career, but rather a recreation. if this was on my shee with a twist (which it doesnt, it has a thumb so there goes your emergency scenario), i wouldnt have a problem with it. but since she has never ridden a 2 wheeled motor driven vehicle before where there is alot more focus and involvement then on 4 wheels, i want her to have as little too worry about as possible, while she is learning knitting needles.... get off your soapbox dude. you say you have crashed 4 times in your 16 years of riding with a twist throttle....well, i would like to see her only crash twice with a thumb. get my point?
-
braxton, are those nerfs for sale too?
-
yeah man, definately good ole springtucky. dont know too many places where you can stretch your beasts legs tho LOL.... pm me sometime when you want too ride, i'm only in town on the weekends. hell we might know each other without knowing it lol. few people i know who would probably hook up also
-
w3rd, i think i will bring the shee and the 80. see how the 80 does on those hills
-
that aint no shit lol it has umph for sure
-
cool to see someone has done this. she wont be riding whoops anytime soon LOL. i was just curious if it was possible. safety is key here for her sake so there was nothing special that had to be done for it to work?
-
i just picked up a '93 RM80. i intend to teach my girlfriend how to ride it. but i rode it for the 1st time today and i'm having second thoughts about the twist throttle on it and the power it has for how touchy the twist is. its been a while since i rode a dirt bike and it surprised me for about the 1st few minutes. has anyone on here ever put a thumb throttle on a dirt bike before? i think it would be much safer for her to have a thumb throttle instead of twist. i imagine it wouldnt be difficult at all to do, just looking for a brand to get or ideas in this direction, cheaper the better! does anyone think i could retro fit a thumb throttle setup from a 4 wheeler onto this thing? lots of those on EBAY thanks MM
