  1. the guy i bought mine from ran Amsoil @ 80:1 (low hour bike). i switched to Yamalube @ 40:1 mainly because of the ease of mixing a 16oz bottle into 5 gallons of gas = 40:1. cant beat that. i cant tell a lick of difference in how it runs either. still a bat outta hell 93/94 octane only
  2. i'm looking too buy 4 new wheels and tires for the shee. i'm after some 20x11x9 rears and some 21x7x10 fronts and would like the wheels to be aluminum with a black finish EBAY has buy it now prices of $499, is there cheaper out there, if so where?

  5. went out riding today...muddy trails hardly ever got out of 1st gear, ok anyway. whats the best way too clean the quad now?
  6. evolution, be glad they arent going backwards too steam or coal power lol. like new musclecars, it makes for killer factory competition and then fuels the aftermarket. in the end, the consumer wins i like my shee a shit ton but 2 strokes are out like whale oil lamps

  9. if i'm not mistaken tho, GM made the switch away from the SBC's of old in '98 for the trucks (which if his has a 350 it would be the Vortec 5.7) and into the new LS based motors in '98 for trucks (i could be wrong tho, thats why i asked) and with that switch, the trucks never got a 5.7L 347cid LS1 that only went into F and Y body's, they got either an aluminum block 5.3, iron block 6.0, iron block 8.1 or deisel find out which it has for sure, once you open the hood it should be in plain site either on the engine cover or stickers on the radiator support

  11. well, i rode it for about 2min when i bought it. but sunday i put about 2hrs. on it just getting some seat time. i must say i am in love fucking thing pulls hard and puts a big ole smile on my face. best money i have spent on a toy!! amazing how easily it slides the ass end around

  13. what motor? 5.3, 6.0 or 8.1 (5.3 is the only all aluminum of the 3) if it happens on cold startup, i will have too say it is piston slap (which is normal in the all aluminum LS based motors). it is very common! some motors have it worse then others tho. if you have some sort of warranty, try and get GM too install a crate motor (they have done it for others because of the piston slap) my guess is that when the weather warms up in the spring and summer, it wont be as noticeable but will still be there
  14. how do those tubes hold up too rock hits from the sides? i know real carbon fiber is strong. but i've seen carbon fiber driveshafts for cars explode from a rock hitting it (looked like a broom and cleaned the undercarriage of the car tho LOL)
  15. i would say, if you are going to see the guy after the sale then sell it too him for what you payed for it or slightly over. if not, and he wants too pay a premium then go for it. "one mans garbage is another mans treasure"
  16. how much boost? i didnt see an intercooler, is it hot air or did i over look it? when you gonna have it at US41? i'm building a mid 10sec combo (at turbo regal weight) buick V6 too put into my '90 mustang notchback. with a Limit Engineering TE45a (66mm) on pump gas and alky injection. should weigh around 2800lbs with me in it the red camaro at your guys shop is disgustingly fast. i love that is has the M6 still

  22. whats that (waterpump) lol? what kind of damage can it cause? the guy i got it from used Amsoil at 80:1...would it be a good idea too stick wth that mixture since thats what he ran? thanks for the good info....so far i didnt get too ride today,, spent all day updating rearranging and cleaning my shed so the the quad has a nice cozy home lol (crappy weather anyway)
  23. thanks folks, for the good info a clymer manual was definately at the top of my parts too get list! i'm gonna take a pic of the fliter kit it has and see if someone on here can tell me which it is and if i can upgrade too a better design or whatnot i went and picked it up tonite....rode it for just a minute or 2.... WOW, just WOW is all i have too say......... cant wait too ride it tomorrow its an all black with red grill '03 that has about 20hrs on it, Toomey T5's, some filter kit, jetted, DG nerfs and shock covers after tomorrow, i'm gonna start my maintenance schedule with a crank case oil change, filter cleaning, check out the coolant, check the plugs etc. steve
  24. i'm picking up my 1st ever banshee, let alone a 2 stroke.... i'm wondering what are known problem areas that these quads in particular have? things i can do to the bike instantly for free or for cheap so some factory part/device doesnt give me headaches down the road. maintenance is something i have no trouble keeping up with. are there items most people dont need, or the motor doesnt need that can be removed that could cause issues? etc. etc.
