  1. it has to do with insurance , atv's and dirtbikes can not be on the track at the same time , if someone gets hurt they can sue the track . at least thats what my track told me .
  2. i think any color will look better than the purple , for some reason i cant stand that color combo . no offence , get your self some plastic paint and start spraying .
  3. never buy the pistons before pulling it apart , even if you got the bore size what would you do if 1 of the cylinders is scared up and needs a bore job , even if the guy told me it was the stock bore i would have pulled it apart first .

  7. you are out of your mind , he dropped a 1000 into his 450 and it sucks ? you cant compair the new 450's to 250 2 strokes , new geomitry frames , 250 2 strokes havent been changed since 2000 . my crf 450 turns 100 times better then my cr 250 and i dont even have to mention the power , on not clutching coming out of turns in 3rd gear . my 450 is 11 pounds heavier than my 250. rebuilds are alot cheaper on the 2 strokes , but if you dont over rev a 4 stroke your motor will last a long time , my brother has a 2002 crf 450 and it has over 230 hours on it , original top end , i just check the valves a couple weeks ago and they are in perfect spec .
  8. get the 250 4 stroke , 125's suck ass , no bottom end power , i would say you are a little heavy for a 125 or a 250 4 stroke , (225) just my 2 cents , as for the cr 500 , it has way more power than the 450 , i have owned both , the 450 will kick the shit out of a 500 around a motocross track but in a straight up drag race you would have to do a lot of work to the 450 to get it to hang with the 500 . i had a cr 500 with a procircuit pipe and reeds and it was a total beast .
  9. just went to look at a used 94 banshee some kid was selling , was sitting out side for a year , rusted to shit ,beat to shit. no compression in one cylinder , needed complete rebuild , he was firm on $ 2600 , i offered him 700 , every piece on it was rusted , fucking crazy . couple days ago went to look at a 2003 raptor 660 , kid on the phone told me it was super clean like new , was a total piece of shit , needed one way starter bearing , tires , valve adjustment , probably a top end (burned alot of oil ) , rear carrier bearing , one a arm was bent ,rear sub frame bent . plastics beat to shit , had no air filter , rear shock was soft as hell , he wanted $3700 . i would say it needed $2000 worth of work easy with me doing the labor . i really wanted to kick him and his father in the nuts for wasting my time . i dont know whats going on with these people lately , but they think they are sitting on a gold mine when its really a pile of shit . i wasted alot of time going to see these pos's . just wish people would be honest on the phone . l

  12. i love my 450 , the 700 felt a little bulky and top heavy to me , if you are going to ride trails you will love the 4 stroke .
  13. i live near island motocross track , i ride my crf 450 there every weekend , they stopped letting quads ride there now .dirtbikes only . its more of a supercross track and would be pretty tough for a quad.

  17. pt mids are great low end pipes . dont laugh about the DG pipes , i had a set back in the day and they were alot better than you would think . went from DG's to fatty's and really couldnt tell the difference .

  19. i couldnt give 2 shits about their project , i voted for pics of bbcmudtruck's wife . honestly why would you need to turbo it , 1000cc street bike motor doesnt make enough power on its own ? turbo is over kill if you ask me .
  20. yes i read it . im not trying to be a ass either but the 2 stroke wasnt killed by the government , technology killed the 2 stroke . 4 strokes killed the 2 stroke .
  21. i am talking about atv's not fishing boats , why would lawn care people rather mix gas and oil than just put straight gas in ? there is no laws controlling off road close coarse atv's right now . bottom line is 4 strokes sell . all the companys are putting all the research and development into 4 strokes because thats where the future is . especially in the birt bike market , more power better traction , fuel injection , 2 stroke dirtbikes dont sell and thats a fact . so why would they still make them . same goes for quads , they take the dirtbike motor and stick it in a quad . except for the small percent of banshee enthusiasts people dont want to buy 2 strokes , why did they stop making 500 's in 1990's , because they didnt sell like the 250's , bottom line is money . companys can make clean burning 2 strokes but its not worth it .
  22. the tree huggers hve nothing to do with the death a the 2 stroke , atv's and dirtbike are considered off rode machines and are not controlled by the EPA or any other organization , the do not need to pass emissions . the only thing that killed the 2 stroke is sales , the companys will not produce a product that they think will not make them money ! and thats the bottom line . the AMA also helped to kill the 2 stroke by allowing 450cc 4 strokes to compete agains 250 2 strokes , ever since that the 2 stroke has been going the way of the dodo bird . they still sell 2 stroke in other countrys becuase there is a market for them , as soon as the sales go down the will stop making the altogether .
