  1. OK, so I spent the last 5 or so hours searching the HQ for different fender cuts. I live in new england so we got every terrain imaginable over here. I drive 15 minutes east, and it is all sand, or I stick around my area and it has everything under the sun. I can hit anything from water crossings and mud, down to hard packed clay, dusty dirt, sand whoops, really really rocky hard pack (seems to be a lot of that around here) so I still need my fender to be functional. Problem is I LOVE race cut fenders and think they look a world better than stock. I want to trim them down, but have still function a bit when turning in mud, or hitting shallow puddles at speed. So far wompasprez on this board has the best looking "semi cut" fenders I have seen (I attatched a pic below) and I'd like something like that. Does anyone else have any pictures of cut fenders that still function a bit, or any idea's that can help me out? Anyone have any more pictures of his fenders by any chance? Thanks in advance guys!
  2. The suzuki samurai site I moderate has drawings once a month. I am used to never winning o I guess I will carry that losing streak over here!!!. Count me in!!!
  3. I was thinking about doing a really simple ski conversion a while ago. My idea was leave the bike how it is, and make my own stuff that bolts on like a wheel. Main think like that is the fact it can still spin like a wheel, so I was looking for a way to either allow only a little bit of travel (some kind of stop... like junk calipers, and master locks in the rotors) or perhaps a spring system that returns them to nuetral all the time. I thaught maybe run a light tension spring from the toe of the ski to the lower shock mount, and another from the heel of of the ski to the shock mount. The slight tension from the springs will also work sorta like a steering damper. If you did that, it would be as easy as swapping a set of rims, and unbolting and rebolting the bottom of the shock. Let me know what you decide to do because I am really interested. I wanted to make it mostly bolt on for 2 reasons... one it is nice and easy, and 2 with it not fixed the ski's will ride the terrain better. Picture fixed ski's trying to go from flat ground to a steep climb instantly. They might dig in.
  4. yeah that was very very funny unlike the screaming nude pics.
  5. I have a part time fabrication business if that means anything to you. No fancy union for me!!!!! P.S. get me a union job!

  7. holy crap.... I had that exact same thaught, and I was just about to post it but I figured "ahhh, I'll read further than the "little Tithead" post" and sure enough you beat me to it. A-cup!
  8. OK, I realize a lot of people do not really know what a flex - grip is. It's basically a suspension system for your non throtle side hand grip (and on the case of thumb throtle both sides) here is how it works.... There is a tube just like a twist throtle tube, and then a metal casing on the end. The metal casing has 2 bushings in it. One for the forward direction and one for the rear direction. So basically it doesn't move easy like a throtle tube, but more like a grip with a built in shock. It also comes with 3 different hardness of bushings and you can mix and match for 9 different settings. Here is my review.... At first I was obviously skeptical and I thaught it was jsut going to be a shitty product that was gouing to end up in the trash. I put it on the bike (2003 RM250) and sat there in the garage twisting it. It was a lot more firm than I had expected. I'd really have to put some power into it for it to twist. At the time I had the firm busings in just because I was skeptical of having a moving grip. I went for a ride later that day and in no time flat I completely forgot it was on there. I still had my typical tired left arm pump as I was riding so I thaught the product was a gimmic. I realized later on that night it really worked. Usually when I stop riding my left wrist hurts me really really bad because I have bad tendon problems. I figured I would try riding again the next day but go to the soft bushings. Well them cured the arm pump (it was dead on even with my right arm which it had never been before....I even used to work out just my left arm so it could catch up) but I didn't like the way it felt. For me it was moving jsut a little too much. I am sure if I rode it long enough I would have got used to it, but I like things to feel natural, not get used to them. So two days later I went out with the medium sets. Arm pump was the same as the soft set, but I had more control and a better feel. Now I was starting to get impressed. I did notice on the whoops it had a tendency to over rotate forward (for my liking) and I figured "hey, I will swap in a hard one in the front and keep the medium in the rear and see how that goes!" .... Next ride, sure enough I was hooked. I am not sure I will ever have a bike or quad short of a drag specific ride that will NOT have the Flex-Grip. I give it a big 2 thumbs up!!!! anyone else here o n the HQ use one of these? What do you think? What bushings are you comfortable with? If anyopne has any questions about these let me know. I also have some pics of them on the bike if anyone wants to host them.
  9. I don't see the I'm feeling lucky thing....
  10. Don't get me started on the odyssey's E start. Mine shit the bed so many times it was rediculous. thats also another thing.... E start is just one more thing to break.
  11. my kawi jet ski has an electric start.... 3 cylender 2 stroke 1100
  12. ok, I am going to shoot for a realistic one here..... Fullbore or more modern looking yet still banshee like plastics. At LEAST YFZ 450 shocks Some suspension geometry changes +2 A arm option from the factory Noss head with choice of domes some form of better tire (I hate the stock tires) smaller headlites (hopefully better ones) renthal or pro taper bars like they are throwing on the 450 two wheelers Better air box set up some good pipes from the factory welded crank from the factory?!? stronger clutch maybe a few more dress up parts for the engine Fuel injection may be a little much to ask for, but will make the twin run better, cleaner, and probably have better low end TQ. The tuning would be great, and it would be pretty easy to match the cylenders. I realize the twin scares a lot of people off. If they were to do them mods from the factory, I bet it would sell a TON more and still have some competition for the newer quads. What do you guys think of that?
  13. I used to love the old ones. Too bad he doesn't do them anymore!
  14. how do paddle tires do in the snow?
  15. anyone ever see a banshee motor swapped into a YFZ? I really like the YFZ's other than the lack of two stroke power. I really am a two stroke type of guy. That just made me curious about the swap. I think it would be pretty mean.
  16. What do you think is a reasonable offer for that? It would be a nice swap for my odyssey. PM me with a price.
  17. If you guys need vintage tractors I am really good at locating them. My best friend owns a HUGE tractor repair store. Let me know what you need and I will see what I can get. Just shoot me a PM.
