  1. I don't have any neighbors Cleaning is going ok. These paper towels suck thats for damn sure!
  2. I'll try to take some of them google earth shots for you in a little while. Right now I have to head outside and try to clean my buds quad with no hose. I got soap, a bucket, and paper towels. This should be fun....
  3. I have been riding dirtbikes my entire life, but not nearly as long on quads. I am borrowing my buddies YFZ thats in my sig right now, and I had a raptor 660 for a month. First time I rode a quad was a banshee in 97 and I have been wanting a banshee since. So yeah, my quad experiance is highly limited compared to the time I have spent on bikes. I have been trying to get someone to come over and film me for like a week now so I can see. I know I can feel the difference when I turn right. It's either knee in the bars or thumb having trouble with the throtle. It's driving me nuts.
  4. this is the left turn that I have all the fun on (my fav turn on the whole track) and I can hammer down fine on it... after the left turn there is a set of whoops, then a small straight into this turn which is a tiny bit sharper. On this or any other tight right turn I just can't seem to keep my thumb on the throtle and I get lots of oversteer. I am guessing my weight might be too far back and thats whats giving me the oversteer?
  5. For some reason I can never find a comfy spot for my throtle thumb. I wack the berms on the track behind my house and I realize I am a lot faster taking my left turns. Anyone got any advice for me? As I was leaning off I was rolling my hand over the grip a little and using my index finger. Seemed to work ok. I'll head into my yard right now and take some pics to give you guys an idea of what I am riding on.
  6. check the cases for cracks, especially near the chain.
  7. Why o why can't it be an A arm frame! Damn! Right now I got no use for grills unfortunately.
  8. 4mm Dune/play port on stock jugs for a play bike, a 4mm drag ported cub for my fast bike.
  9. So pretty much everything I said aside from the crank. I was thinking get the crank so it helps with low end torque.
  10. J arm or A arm? I should have said A arm only in the original post. I'd prefer the frame has it's paper work with it also. I am located in massachusetts.
  11. I am broke but want to do what I can to get a banshee project under me. I am wondering if anyone ould be interested in trading my 1/8th scale 4wd Hot Bodies buggy or my tmaxx for a shee frame. Tmaxx's motor needs to be refreshed or replaced. The rebuild kits for them are cheap. It still starts but bogs and runs like crap. Everything on the buggy is 100% fine. It was ripping last time I drove it, then I sort of lost intrest in it. I'll also consider parts trades too, but I really want to get a frame first. thanks guys.
  12. sweet, thanks for the help! Think I can still slap down a yfz with a cam, full exhaust, good tune, weighted flywheel, k&n's, and holeshots using t5's? That quad is usually the fastest out of the bunch when the guys drag race. That and my pro skater buddys ported and modded suzuki 250r.
  13. I posted all that to see if the motor combo I named can handle that stuff. Not the best, but make it without having reliability issues, over heating, fouling plugs every half mile, toasting the clutch etc etc. I know it won't do squat without good suspension. As far as budget, nothing at the moment. This is just all talk and idea's. Once I get a set plan I will probably buy a part here or there until it is done. Might take a while, but I don't mind.
  14. I am no expert but yes the heads will make a big difference. I second or third the noss head too. 21cc and you should be fine on pump gas. Did you advance the timing at all yet?
  15. I don't care about the best trail bike. Thats my least desired type of riding. I'd get a 4x4 if I wanted to do lots of trails. I love wide open screaming. I love blasting as fast as I possibly can. I like the feeling of top end wanting to rip you off of your bike. I personally like the fire roads, open fields, snow runs, and drag racing the most out of the riding we do. I dig MX stuff too, but I only do that for fun. The guy that owned my house before me owned a construction company and was big into MX. Now there is a huge MX track behind my house barely getting used. I'd blast the straights and table tops on that all day if I had my own bike. Bottom line is I want a ripping fast banshee weather it is the best choice for me or not. I had an 01 RM250 with a dune port and pro circuit pipes, and I still wanted more straight line power. I'll post a pic of that in a minute.
  16. I know I am flat broke and can't afford a thing right now, but I am still trying to get a game plan set for when I do get a Shee. My friends around here do lots of different riding. I have been going out on my friends 07 YFZ a lot lately. We ride everything from long sections of whoops, to jumps, to muddy rocky hard to navigate trails, old fire roads, and even occasional sand. Winter time as soon as it snows everyone is out cruising on the quads having a blast. As soon as all the guys hit open area's we get drag racing sessions going. Everyone lines up one after another and we do lots of side by side drags. Sometimes we get carried away and start throwing down 10 bucks a race. All the guys I ride with are hardcore into drag racing cars, but when it comes to quads it's all about all around fun with them. That drag racing side of us is still there all the time though! So I have been for ever trying to think of a banshee combo that would work good for all of this. My thoughts lately would be a really aggressive dune port from Kerr with a 4mm crank, CPI in frames since they come on a little sooner than shearers, and possibly a 2 into 1 carb set up? Would a 2-1 be better than small duals for this combo? I want to be able to do some of the slow trails we have, but I really want to be able to crack down on thier modded 450's when dragging. Would the set up I just named be too much for a shorter swing arm? I really don't want to go much bigger than stock unless I have to. I'd really like to go shorter if possible, but I don't want it to be a steady battle of trying to keep the front end down. I realise most people with a 4mil on a dune port are running +4's but most of them are also in the dunes. Could I get away with that for the riding I do?
  17. Going too rich is just as bad as going too lean. Going rich makes it very easy to wipe out rings. There is only one tune and thats the "right tune". Yes by the looks of that you are running rich.
  18. http://www.dragstuff.com/techarticles/plug-pictures.html the hell with it. There is a good link. Read whats on that page, look at the pics, and do a new chop. I am sure you can get a good idea of how close your tune is just by that article alone. If you want more info I will throw a link up to my page with more tuning tips and plug charts.
  19. I agree on chopping with afresh set of plugs. I have a lot of useful info on plug chops and reading plugs with cars if you want to check it out. In the end reading a plug is reading a plug weather it be car or quad. Make sure there is no black pepper dots on it anywhere too!!
  20. While this thread WAS great, I think my IQ dropped reading the last 2 pages.
  21. Working in the high performance autoparts industry I see this kind of stuff happen all the time. Manufacturers promise me X amount of time to get a product just to make the sale. In the end it ends up making them look worse than saying the wait will be a little longer but it is worth it for a quality product. Sometimes it's an honest mistake, other times it's not.
  22. 100% true. Tachs can also help prevent over revving. Hit up a dyno and see where your motor starts falling off and make some shift points and chances are you will run faster more consistantly by staying in the peak power of the power band. Not to mention how much practicing launching RPM based can help.
  23. Be careful! Not much of a need for that at all. Much of a need for us to see the video if you do go through with it though! What ever you do, don't hurt your self or innocent people.
  24. Sounds like a fun time! Once I get my hands on a quad let me know about these. I will definitly attend.
