  1. I ride the lines down in the cape all the time. I live in new bedford. Some really nice sand down that way. I got a lot of good local riding spots too. I don't have anything to ride right now, but will hopefully have a shee soon. Once I get that all set we should meet up!!!!!
  2. wheels or crank?
  3. I'm from massachusetts!!!
  4. you know, thats one thing I never did take pics of. I used to take the targe bar off, and take out the passengers seat. I would toss it in rear tire towards the dash, lift the front end and close the tail gate letting the front tire hang out of the back
  5. well if they are up that late all the time I can only assume they sleep all day. Get equal revenge and get them back at like noon time.
  6. I used to put my RM250 IN my suzuki samurai, so I am used to stuff not fitting!!!
  7. Lifting the tires over the wheel wells is expected. i was thinking early 90's mazda (pretty much a ranger) or an early 90's toyota. Just curious if I put 2" wider A arms if it will still fit width wise. I guess thats my main concern.
  8. not a hijack at all, it's all stuff I can learn from and gets more info for the questions I asked
  9. If I am going out alone, it is a pain to load up the trailer for one quad. I am in the market for a small 4 cylender truck. Can anyone confim what small trucks a banshee can fit in? I don't care if the tailgate closes or is open (I know chances are it will have to be open unless the front wheels are on TOP of the cab)
  10. perhaps run a few 9 volt battery's to power them with a switch mounted on your controls? Just change the batterys out before a ride so they don't die halfway and you get cold. It's a thaught, but I am far from an electrical guy. If anyone can find a way to set up a set of these and still use the lights let me know!!! I do a lot of night time snow riding in the streets.
  11. oh yeah, I also google searched the paddlemasters. I couldn't seem to find thier website. I found a few places selling them, but I am not to sure if it was a deal or expensive. What are a set of those tires going for normally? Do any of you have a link to thier website if they have one?
  12. I realize you said jet up when you take the airbox off for the summer. Yet when you ride in cold you generally have to jet up (lor at least I do) so I am wondering if there is gonna be one jet that will work with both and tune by adding an airbox that would be some funny stuff right there!!!! As for the tires I was also thinking about the razr's also. I see a lot of people running them and having good luck. I also thaught about holeshots, but the razr's seem more aggressive. About the shocks, I HAVE been searching so I read all about the clearance issues. As far as I am concernd them are very minor. 2 minutes of grinding total. thanks for the additional heads up though!!!! I am also at sea level. I live in the city the book moby dick was based out of I want to run the bottom end stock for a little while. Once it comes apart I will probably be going 4mm bigger Until then I will deal with it the way it is and hope it holds together.
  13. the only ski's I have seen in person seem to bolt onto the caliper. It was weird, but rather neat.
  14. ok, I do not own a banshee yet (check my other post in this forum for info) and I have only rode one before. I have been reading and researching them for quite some time now. I had a craptor, and like 12 different 250 dirtbikes from stock to HIGHLY modded. here are my questions.... I want to ride my banshee year round once I get it. I live in massachusetts so we get some decent snow. I am worried about ditching the air box and riding in the snow. Is there some kind of mod that keeps the water out a tiny bit and still makes good power... or great power? Tires....what tires should I run that cover EVERY terrain. thats what really sucks about riding in my area. One second you are on hard pack hill climbs, then the other side is sand, ythen it's loose dirt, and mud. I was also thinking of getting a set of paddles and ski's or just my regular fronts for the winter. How would a paddle react if it were to cut through the snow and hit the concrete? Would they tear apart fast? I used to ride my raptor in the snow as soon as we got like 4" on the stock tires and they SUCKED. Once I got like 10" of snow I would barely move. 4-6" was cool because it would slide everywhere and be fun, but it sucked because I didn't get crap for speed. Also, I am a fat tub of lard. I weigh 280 pounds and I am 6 foot tall. I was thinking quicksand arms, and YFZ450 shocks, but how should I set them for my weight? I had pro action (I think thier site is pro-action.com) do all my two wheeler stuff. I am just curious what exactly it is that they did for a rider like me. I also wonder if it is something I can do my self (I can build a car from chasis up) or if it is something you need specialty tools for. I am thinking get the YFZ shocks, quicksand arms, and bring them and my stock rear to pro action and tell them to have a ball, but if I can save money doing it my self I am all for it. I think first day I get my shee some of the motor mods are gonna be done. "Should" be putting on a noss head, new carbs, intake, toomey t5's, new reeds, and probably a few other mods including a timing computer. Is this bad for a brand new motor with zero hours on it? I know on my race 250's I would just slap them together and go but I was rebuilding a lot. I want to get a good 8 months or so out of the motor before I tear the top end apart for new postons and full porting. Do you think with the mods I mentioned above it will be faster than a highly built RM250? Full race gas, race ported motor. Do you guys have a list of what octane fuel you need per CC head? I don't want to go too high compression just because of gas cost. If there is something where I can do a pump gas/race gas mix that would be cool and somewhat cost effective. sorry for another long whinded post asking you guys so many questions!!!!! Thanks for the help in advance guys.
  15. do you ride your shee in the snow?
  16. I would guess not. I could be wrong. Maybe use the 450 bearings and get a proper sized shim? Just a thaught, and could possibly work!
  17. I am from the east coast too. Massachusetts here. I honestly doubt I can get approved for the quad yet. I really mean I just started my credit history. Hopefully soon though Thanks for the welcomes everyone.
  18. Hey everyone. I have been lurking the boards for a little while now, reading post, learning, and just chcking out this really cool community. I finally registerd here yesterday when I decided I couldn't take not posting anymore. I have been riding 2 wheelers for many many years. My last 2 wheeler was a highly built 03 RM250 mx. After that I got an 04 Craptor. That bike sucked!!!! I baught it cash in late 03 and fell into the hype of huge CC's and Banshee replacement. Ever since I was a kid (I am 23 now) I have been in love with banshee's. My buddy Kevin used to let me ride his when ever we went riding. It had tomey t3's, K&N's, porting, and some suspension mods. I am sure there are probably other engine mods that were done to it too like reeds etc etc, but those were the main mods. That bike was sick!!!! It made me fall deeper in love with them. Now I know the Banshee's unfortunately have to say bye bye. This made me realize I better act now if I want one!!!!! I don't have the same job I used to have and I do not make nearly as much cash, so buying bikes cash like I used to is WAY out of the question. I was a bone head kid in auto sales making 70k a year and blew all my cash. I never once thaught about building credit. Now that I am not in auto sales anymore and I am doing retail sales I realize how important good credit is. I got my first credit card a few months ago, and I have been paying on it ahead of time with some extra cash. I couldn't get a cell phone without a huge downpayment before, but now I got one with absolutely no cash down Since I need to finance a new bike since I can't go cash like I used to, I am going to have to wait a little while. I am expecting that by march or so I could have a large enough credit line to get approved for a new banshee. Here is the important question, will the banshee be available then, or do you think it is going to be all gone? What kind of production numbers are they having this year? I want to say thank you to everyone for having me here, and sorry for the long whinded first post. I hope to make a lot of new friends and have a great time here
