???? I was under the impression that the stroker plate went between the bottom of the cylinders and cases. You dont have it on top between the head and cylinders do you? Or is that even possible? Anyway, what does the extra smoke smell like? Like burning oil or heavy premix? You might have a bad crank seal on the right side. Check your tranny oil.

CPI In-Frames, exhaust collars?
Hilarious replied to BansheeBruce's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
I would use some collars. I had some made by TM Designworks on mine. They just slip on, none of that clamping crap. They have o-rings inside of them. I origonally had them on my fattys. And further more, i now have them on my shearers. They fit very well. -
That motor ought to run pretty good. I'd definately go with the fast clutch and a magnum billet basket for sure. Not sure you would need the lockup. You should also look at installing a pancake bearing on the adjuster.

Dutch, did you go sunday? I finally got around to going down Saturday. Wasnt a whole lot of people there. Its a very fun place to ride. We had a very good time. Jeff, the guy that runs it is a very stand up, great guy. I will definately be going back, now that I know hot to get there. Lol

You mean, ya'll don't have one next to the coffee despenser in the break area in your office? I like the raspberry the best. Cpis are great pipes, mainly depending on your current engine mods and future plans.

Yes. I would like to hear (or read) an engineer's well thought out explaination of how those (2) things operate. The ones I work with just get red in the face everytime they are questioned on that subject.

All that shit is hooked together into the electrical system. Look under the gas tank on the left side. There should be a small box, bolted to the frame. You should also remove that.

stupid question, but i need to ask!
Hilarious replied to 04titanse's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Haha. Dont feel stupid. Only stupid question is one that isnt asked. I got one of those too. The o rings are SUPPOSED to hold the flag on but they dont. I put a small hose clamp on the top of mine. -
Rapt 700 gives 5 & go in 1/8 wut add-ons 2 win
Hilarious replied to Sheebang's topic in Roostin' Room
I am callin' BS on the little punk kid that started this thread simply for being a total ass of all things and that's putting it lightly. I thought the 700's were turds also, untill i got one to play around on. I think they are fast, fun bikes and like you stated that's my opinion. -
D.G, the chrome on your pipes looked really good in those pics you posted up yesterday. I have to agree with firehead. Whomever is doing is matt's "production chrome" is really doing an awefull job. The set of shearer inframes that I have just picked up have the worst chrome job I have seen yet. :geek:

Post up some pics of your bike. I wanna see this super dragster blaster that you have. :geek: -
Post up your mods and carb settings. Have you tried adjusting your air screws? Best way I know of to diagnose a bad crank seal would be a leak down test. You would have to take the stator cover and flywheel off. And remove your clutch cover and crank gear to be able to see the seals. while doing the leak down test, if you have an air leak, spray around the seals and such with a soap solution and look for air bubbles. It's a real pain in the butt to do. :yucky: You can make a tester out of parts that you can obtain at home depot. I think RNBRAD has a brake down of one. You can do a search on it.

Here's a picture to look at. :geek: From my experience, comparing the shearers to the cpis, the power deilvery was not similar, on my bike. The powerband came on a little later and kept going as with the cpis, the powerband came on sooner and didnt rev out as much. And I cant really tell why by just looking at em side by side. Thats just the way it is.

CPIs are good pipes. They just fit like crap and the stinger placement will burn holes in your air filters. So you ride wide open trails and dunes? Who did your porting? You may want to shoot this question twards whomever did your porting. I would suggest a drag pipe if your trails are not anything technical and are wide enough to launch a bus down sideways, LOL. CPI if you want a good boost in midrange and a bit of top end. Shearer if you want an abrupt boost later on in your powerband and a lot of top end.

John the farmer was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young layers (hens), called "pullets", and ten roosters, whose job it was to fertilize the eggs (for you city folks). The farmer kept records and any rooster that didn't perform went into the soup pot and was replaced. That took an awful lot of his time, so he bought a set of tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone so John could tell from a distance which rooster was performing. Now he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report simply by listening to the bells. The farmer's favorite rooster was old Butch, and a very fine specimen he was, too. But on this particular morning John noticed old Butch s bell hadn't rung at all! John went to investigate. The other roosters were chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing. The pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover. But to Farmer John's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He would sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one. John was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Renfrew County Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges. The result...the judges not only awarded old Butch the No Bell Piece Prize but they also awarded him the Pulletsurprise as well. Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making: Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most highly coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention?

NEEDLE BEARING IN A MILLION PIECES!
Hilarious replied to seabass's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Taking the bottom end apart and putting it back together isnt as scary as it sounds. I would definately take it apart and get the rest of that bearing out. Get some three bond and a seal kit. Now would be a good time to take the crank out and get it welded. You may have had an air leak on that cylinder somewheres. That cylinder most likely got really hot and disintegrated the wrist pin bearing. Its a good possibility. How does the rod look on that side? Post up your mods. -
Its not just you. Trust me. I want more power all the time. LOL Please dont take this the wrong way as being a asshole or anything but, you may need to adjust your riding style. Especially if your not totally used to your banshee. You need to "keep on the pipes" so to say. So the powerband is right there, when you need it. Does that make sense?

I rear ended a car this morning... I knew it was going to be a REALLY bad day. The driver got out of the other car, and he was a DWARF! He looked up at me and said, "I am NOT happy". I said, "Well, which one ARE you then?" That's when the fight started!!!

LED Taillight From an '06-'07 YFZ450
Hilarious replied to jayzx10r's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Is it me or are the tail lights out of the new 450 and 700 the same as the 2002-2003 R1? They look very similar. -
CPIs sold, pending payment. Still have the head, and the K&N air filter, outerware and hardstyle billet adapter.

If you're on a budget, like you said, i'd spring for those fattys you have there. I had some on my bike when it was stock, with k&N, vforce3 reeds and no air box lid and it hit pretty hard.

The manual says: Yamalube 4 (of course, LOL) 10w30 or SAE 10w30 API service SE, SF, SG type or higher. Be sure to use motor oils that do not contain anti-friction modifiers, aka shit labled ENERGY CONSERVING. I use maxima MTL and that reminds me I need to change mines. I think you pretty much have all bases covered so I would go out and ride. BTW, thats a nice looking 'shee you have there.
