80overShee

I use the Saber 100:1 mixed at 80:1. I've never had a problem since I started using it and the rings and bore have held up unbelievably well. I'll never use anything else. And as far as cost effective.....it just flat out can't be beat. $9 a quart at 80:1 or $5.50 a quart at 32:1 Yamalube. You do the math.

I have T5's with K&N pods, stock carbs at 600-800 ft' (depending on where I ride). At 85-95 degrees I run 310 or 320 mains, 4th clip and 27.5 pilot running 80:1 Amsoil Saber (people forget to realize that mixture affects jetting!). Every 10 degrees I drop below 85 I increase one jet size and it works great. Its actually a little lean but just barely. Remember also that spark arrestors and hush kits affect your jetting as well. Putting on a hush kit will require you to drop atleast 1 jet size, up to 3. "Sparky Cobra" spark arrestors designed specifically for Toomey only need 1 jet if any. That is why I run a bit lean, I don't need to rejet just to add spark arrestors.

Thought I'd put in a lil update on this stupid situation. The little bastards that tried to yank my quad have claimed they were only going to 'joy ride it then trash it'. Law in Michigan considers joy-riding a lesser offense than stealing for personal gain . Well, what is even better is that they actually claimed they had a 'legitimate reason behind stealing it'. They claim I ride my Banshee through the nearby neighborhood at all hours of the night and wake everyone up. They were going to trash it as to benefit everyone cuz they are sick of being awakened by it. Funny part is I work 3rd shift......I work all hours of the night and I can account for every night for the last 3 months where I have been, and for the ones that I was actually in town, the Shee was either wrecked, blown up or being stored at a different location. Of which I have dated pictures, witnesses and a written/signed statement of every day I have been at work and what times I was there. My neighbors are also testifying that I never ride it AT ALL past 9pm, 8pm during the week, because I respect their right to peace and quiet......that sucker is loud. The police told me all this information and actually said that if I can prove that fact wrong, it will totally shut them down on any sort of defense they have for a plea. I do believe they just fucked themselves ......bent over and no lube.

You guys bring up the valid point that I have always believed in myself. The parents should not have to pay for their dead beat kids. But in this case, the parents were the negative role models running some level of drug dealing and processing house. I was just notified of this. Now I am not the type to say "hey, I can get money out of this, why not use the system", but in this case, why the hell should I have to live with these nasty ass scars on my back that I took medication that ruined my life for 2 yrs to prevent. I used Acutane to combat acne and scarring when I was 15-17 and it has ruined my joints (dry, stiff), I used it to prevent my face and back from scarring and look what I have now.....3 big ass road rash scars that look like iron burns. Cant be out at the beach now with my shirt off and get that look for a nice back (you know what I mean), instead I'll get "man, thats fucked up, ewww" These little bastards caused that. Now as for the physical disciplining of children......GET THE BELT! I was whooped within inches of my life many a time, the fear of my ass burning was enough to keep me out of a lot.....well some......trouble. Parents have an almost unexplainable amount of impact on behavior development. Example; I went to work right after the event of the theft, I was messed up bad but I played it off like I was fine, I wanted to work (well, I wanted $). My boss looked at me "what would your mother say if she saw you coming to work like this!" me- "I'll tell you exactly waht she said 'Here is the triple antibiotic, you're an hour late, get your ass moving' " Now a sissied kid would have whined and the parent taken them to the hospital and dragged it out for days. Made a huge event of the road rash and how skin grafting is an absolute necessity.....you guys get the idea. And those values stay with you the rest of your life and pass to your kids. I was riding dirt bikes at 3 yrs old (still have that JR50), a friend of mine has a 5 yr old that doesnt even have a bicycle yet "he isn't ready yet, maybe I'll get him a 2 wheeler for his 6th birthday"........great, turn the kid into a pussy.

If they had started it, my Banshee (spider) sense would have kicked in and I would have gone into murder mode.......that and you can hear it a mile away. They would never have gotten away, other than for the speed of it, but they woulda flipped. UPDATE: The little bastards are being charged with so much shit, it'll be a long long time before I get to whoop'em. Like I might be an old man before they see freedom. As of now they are being charged with GTA, UDAA (unlawful driving away of automobile), Robbery, assualt with a motor vehicle, attempted manslaughter with a motor vehicle, larceny, larceny of a building, breaking and entering, fleeing and eluding and the list goes on and on and on. I learned another thing from my neighbor across the street. The charges are compounding, so everytime they did something the charges got worse but on top of the other ones....example; first it was larceny of a building, then it was larceny of a building over $500, then it was larceny-over $1000, then it was larceny-over $1000 with UDAA, then it was Larceny-$1000, UDAA assualt, then add vehicular assualt, then add attempted manslaughter then add fleeing and eluding......all as ONE charge, its HUGE. Looking at over 20 yrs if it sticks. If it doesn't stick, I'll make sure my size 13 sticks to their foreheads. I used to ride my Shee EVERY day.......I haven't been on it since, my back and arm hurts too much to put gear on. My back also hurts to much to put on a riding jacket to ride my street bike. They have robbed me of recreational time during my summer. I will also have nasty scarring on my back. I WILL be sueing for restitution. 6 months of jail time doesn't hurt as bad as paying 20g's or more.

I did a little checking around. One of the kids is apparently in juvenile detention but I do not know of the other. Apparently they have broken into about 30 cars and 30-40 garages stealing change and such out of ash trays. Little piecies of trash. The quad they used to tow mine was also impounded and forfeitted as evidence in a felony crime. They try to steal mine and theirs gets yanked! I LOVE IT On a lighter note; Aaron...we mounted the engine and exhaust today. Stretchin teh swingarm tomorrow, making an airbox (or lack thereof.. ..you'll see), strutting the front and bolting on the CBR rear shock. Running the electrical and getting the engine running will be friday-sunday. We WILL be done!

I have been nicknamed at work "Superman" because I am apparently fearless (or just don't think first). I am definitely rashed up hardcore but it isn't even slowing me down. Hell, I went to work right after it happened, they tried to send me home though. As for the little bitches, I am going to press charges to the full extent, and charge for restitution due to scarring on my back and left arm and 2 hours of lost wages. My dad has already knocked on almost every door in the neighborhood to inform everyone of the kind of neighbors they have. Apparently this little act also violated their probation as well.....cops were at his house again yesterday morning. Musta had somethin to do with the 14 marijuana plants growing in the back yard...... Ya, my last words to one of them was "Its a small town bitch, I'll see you around, I promise" I will be beating the dog shit out of both of them, either seperately or together, I will even ask the judge to put me in the cell with them. As for the guy that said somethin about a baseball bat.....If I had had anything like that, I would have broken both of their legs, they fu**** with my quad!!!! On a side note....for that boy wantin to race at ol Bob's.......I have a surprise for you at Silver Lake on Labor day... You won't touch me

It was, without the horrible acting, or the hot chick to stitch me up. But I got it back and I know without a doubt, they will not be back. NO ONE in their right mind would dare to mess with this stuff again after meeting my dad. He is the town lunatic, they just didn't know it prior. Thats why we USED to leave everything unlocked and open. No one was stupid enough to try anything, there are literally guns sitting by the doors for this reason and have been for 10 yrs. When every house on the road gets TP'ed one night EXCEPT ours, its the only house skipped, you know why.

My Shee was almost ripped off last night, I caught two kids towin it down the road with a utility quad while I was on my way to work. I had no idea it was even missing. I just see these two little bastards towin my quad and yell "GOOOOO" when they saw me. I tried to run em over with my truck but missed em twice until I put them in the ditch. I jumped outta my truck and ran down the road until I caught the bastards driving off. I jumped on the rack, had one kid by a hand ful of hair and tried to pull the bars to flip the quad. Got hit a few times, hit back a few times, then tried to flip it again. At about 40-45mph I got tossed off the side, hit the asphault, got run over by the left rear tire, slid into the gravel and rolled through the ditch. They ALMOST got away, I saw their faces and recognized the quad from the neighboring subdivision. I called the police as my dad went around the neighborhood like a madman finding out what he could. He found a friend of my little brothers that saw the kids go by and he knew them, he took my dad right to the house about the same time I rolled up to the house, the same time the cops pulled up. After the cops showed, I went home to inspect for damage, there wasnt any. The cops pull in with the kids in captive. My dad and I proceeded to scream at the top of our lungs threats of violence and death upon their return if they dare. The cops just laughed "Say whatever you want to em, free speech is a beautiful thing" as he smiled. I tried to get them to let me in the car with each of em for about 5 minutes. I told em they could let em go if they let me in. No dice. These kids were about 16-17. The cops took pics of me, as I am WAY WAY messed up. My back is about 75-80% road rash and my legs, left arm and forehead are also marred up. This was at 11:40 pm, it is now 3:30 the next day and I am still bleeding. So I walked up the driveway and down the road to my quad where the cops were taking pictures (with the kids in the back). I looked down and could tell they had tried to start it. I look in the window "Hey stupid s**t, this is how you do it you piece of ****" I kicked it over the first kick and rode outta the ditch. I rolled up to the cop car "You ain't taking it today mother ******" and did a rolling burnout all the way around the cop car. The cops just laughed and I rode up to my house.......THEN I went to work.......2 hours late The little bastards are in jail (I think), I got my quad back (no damages) I went to work and I am ALL fuctup. Just thought I'd share.......MAN I WAS PISSED.

Thanks for the info. Like I said, they may fit. It looks to be an exact fit with Toomey silencers but I never mounted them. I don't want to scatch them, they are near perfect. Again, thanks for the heads up.

These paddles only have 2 rides on them. I am looking for something more like SKat Trak 10-12 paddles for drag racing. These were excellent for handling, even better than the "v" design of Sand Stars. They are in excellent condition and the paint lines are still on the tread. One rim has a small ding in the bead edge but it doesnt affect the seal at all, it is the very outer edge and looks like it was from a small rock but I honestly don't know the exact cause. I am not sure, it looks as if they will fit both Toomey and stock will fit but those are all I have to compare to. The mounting flange is very long (as you can see) so it may be possible that any silencer will fit after trimming it down. I can not say for certain though.

Sand Geckos on ITPs

Trinity Pipes.....brand new

I have some Trinity stage IV pipes up for sale. They are just too pretty to put on my Banshee. Seriously, I ride hard and wreck harder, I have no use for 'shiny', I'd just ruin it. The pipes are brand new, pipes only, no silencers or stingers. They have never been mounted or fitted. Only one pipe has been fully unwrapped, the other was half unwrapped to check for imperfections, there werent any. The unwrapped pipe has a small ding on the underside of the expansion chamber near the inside of the pipe where it wouldn't be seen. It is about the size of a BB, I didn't even notice it until I examined them very closely. Make me an offer. I prefer email (jspenrod82@charter.net) instead of PM. I rode one yesterday with those pipes, Trinity head, Keihin carbs and port work. Either they don't respond at all to port work or they are complete junk. I also raced a different one at a drag strip on Saturday, I didn't have paddles and he had Skat Trak 10 paddles and I smoked him, thats sad. My stock ported, stock carbed Banshee with T5's will eat it alive. I'd go with NO ....although they look and sounded sweet......but so did the Corvair...

I have T-5's and I do all types of riding. They are a little tough for woods riding but probably better than the Rockets. You have to keep the revs high for both pipes and the power band hits hard. If you are looking for somethin to improve your drag'n and still woods ride then I would go with the T5's but if you are looking to improve over all you may want a lower end pipe such as FMF Fatties. Its all in your riding style. I just know I am clutchin the hell outta mine doing hard trail riding, its either keep it in the power band or dont touch the power band. If it hooks hard when the power band hits with T5's you'll wheelie and smack a tree or go off-trail... With high-end pipes I would definitely suggest advancing your timing as well. It made a huge difference in the power band location on mine. It went from an all out top end bike to all out mid-top. Still not much for low end but atleast the power band is useable for trail riding now.....actually its almos too fast for the tight trails I ride now.

The sky is the limit. It depends on how radical you want to go. Its not uncommon for $5-6K to be added to a Banshee and I've seen as much as 9k. You probably won't go that crazy with it but I'd expect to spend close to 1500-2000 before you're mildly happy

Its not the weight of the pods that breaks the boots, its the fact that the carbs and filters are only supported by the boot itself. The airbox mounts to the frame and gives it more than ample support. I've noticed my boot has a bit more flex to it now that I have had pod filters on for just over a month. Original boots on an 87 that were near perfect are nearing replacement time.

For sure! If its just a port job it might take you an hour to tear it down to the jugs TOPS! Pull the carbs, boots, reeds, pipes and gas tank (15-20 minutes) Drain oil and coolant (5-10 minutes) Unhook the chain, clutch cable and coolant lines (5-10 minutes) Unbolt the kicker, brake lever, shifter and foot pegs (5-10 minutes) Unbolt the engine mounts and lift it out (2-5 minutes) Zip the head off then zip the jugs off (2-5 minutes)......there an hour, TOPS I could do that in about 20 minutes, they'll charge you 2 hours labor for removal and another 2 for install im guessing. Even if you deciding to go "local" don't pay for work that you can easily do yourself. Unless you have a money tree in your back yard, and in that case SEND ME A SEED OR TWO! I wanna grow one too.

Dont be so hard on yourself man! I would bet that 60-75% of all the Banshees out there (and some other two-strokes) are jetted incorrectly. Pat yourself on the back for actually knowing how to fix it. I am new to it myself but I am becoming more experienced with it but almost every modded quad I jump on I notice there is a problem in the jetting in atleast 1 circuit (that includes 4-strokes). Only a small percentage of the people know what and how to fix there problem. Most people just say "I think it should run faster, here *hands $100* fix it for me" 20 minutes later they are off and going . Like I said, don't be so hard on yourself, you could be that guy paying me to rejet.

I have T5's on the Shee right now but I have a set of Trinitys Stage IV's on the way. Pipes only. I got them at an absolutely awesome deal and bought them just to pretty much resell them. Heres my question....how do they compare to T5's? I just got my quad to the power mode where I feel comfortable (FAST) and I want to get more bottom end and keep the top end. There must be a reason that Trinity pipes are $700 a set and T5's are like $450.....is it just cuz Trinity is overly proud of their product?
