Both the sponsors you listed are great to deal with. But fact is... Cam at Redline has better gains then Fast on the 421 serval. Take a peek at the dyno section. You might have to root through it but the info you wanna see is there.

I have ceramic coated (nitro plate) original rockets. It is NO BUENO! It made the motor come on a tad earlier but really hit the wall up top even more so then they normally do. For some reason it seems like some pipes like the ceramic while others don't. Shearer small bore in frames and Rockets definitely don't. You could try this but it requires a bit of work. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=176326&page=1

new Wiseco 4 mil pistons?
trickedcarbine replied to south street speed shop's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I am un biased but I think you are a little bit lofty in the gains to be had. These are sweet because I'm not a fan of putting the piston out of he top of the bore nor is it a good idea to put that fucking plate under he cylinder due to what it does with transfers. These are gonna be beneficial once some competent builders start messing with them, but I don't see any builders just setting their motors up with these pistons and making those gains over their current 795 style set ups/combos. Trust me guys like Cam at redline or Brandon at wild card, aren't gonna just discover a new 7-10 hp gain. They will see earlier power, torque and maybe 1-2 more peak if that over their current combos. Solution, I won't sit here and talk shit but I will offer to come down to the flog session and help you do the testing. I'm not far away and would love to come see exactly what these things will do. I'd be willing to turn wrenches till 4 in the AM if that's what it takes to get it all ran on the dyno. Let me know. -

Pistons are neato, but you're not getting 7 more horses over a properly ported 795 set up with domes -

What to expect from powercoater quality wise?
trickedcarbine replied to jimanold22's topic in Banshee Appearance
He should fix it. As stated, some jobs are harder then others but if someone says they can do it professionally and you pay the professional price, you should get a professional job. That's the point in paying a PROFESSIONAL. Fucking sick of seeing guys say they can handle detail and you pay them based upon that then when it looks hacked up they just tell you how hard it is and that you should deal with it. OP. Find a window in his shop and throw your frame through it. Fair trade..... -

Any crazy compression to burn the Q16? Or did you use lots of timing? Either way that was a pretty sweet science experiment.

That's pretty bitchin^ try same setup&track with more weight. Then less weight. Then go back to the original weight and make a spring change. Make runs with more weight, as well as runs with less weight. See how the bike reacts to each little change individually. If you can make passes on all those changes in one day, it really helps to get a grasp on what does what. Then start playing with tires and gearing. Some times you just know if it's geared way wrong or tired way wrong and those might be worth changing first.

Anyone running a steel clutch basket?
trickedcarbine replied to TIM LUTZ's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Question..... How much weight on the sling shot lock up, and what springs? All on an 8 plate?Do you think that with that ginormous clutch set up plus heavy heavier components like the basket and lock up are a factor in why the clutch gets slipped so much? Also assuming you're on 22" tires? I've done some weird stuff with the clutch as well, but I definitely know it takes a lot of motor to move that much clutch. There is some cut off point in weight. And if you have to abuse it to get it to the point where you're destroying baskets, it may be last that point. By the way, the baskets you ruined were on the bottom of the barrel at that time. The current Mattoon is deecent. I'm not totally against the steel basket thing. It just needs some refining. KTM..... Lots of current automatic transmission parts to pull ideas. I was kinda where you were after 2 seasons on the ice I ruined 2 clutch baskets. I had Super heavy springs on an 8 plate Barnett basket on my stock stroke Big bore 400, an 440cc 4mil big bore. The sling shot was loaded per driveline directions. 2 balls in each short slot. I just had to beat the shit out of it to get the bike moving. I had tons of tire, tons of traction, heavy bike like you. I toasted the baskets and inner hub in a season. I could get the bike to do what I wanted with manual feathering of the clutch but it really abused parts. Not just the clutches but all the hard parts as well. I started looking at what drag bikes do and focused on how to get my bike to do what there's do but at a different point. I made changes everywhere and got the clutch totally fresh with OEM inner hub, Magnum/PE 7 plate basket, Springs from FAST, Drive line Clutch pack No springs, Barnett 3 HD 3 stock spring kit. Much less beef then the 8 plate set up but I gave it a go. I just thought about how snow mobiles clutch to put the power right where they need it depending on terrain. ( make it slip to where the bike makes the power where you want it) In a sense my goal was to make the bike take over the clutching so I don't keep feathering it my self. It sounds like a pussy thing to do, but I went from an overly aggressive wheelie machine off the start that still bogged in turns and needed tons of gear chopping and clutching to correct, to perfect predictable holeshots and a bike that jumps right on to the pipe. Doing so means beating clutches and steels but my current hard parts are now going on season 4 of these shenanigans. -
Jetting with Athena big bore

Pretty big motor for stockers. Your current set up seems pretty close. But I would start at 360/370ish. Better safe then sorry. -

Turbocharged and fuel injected banshee........
trickedcarbine replied to tyrel's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Have the stock head done. Cool head ain't gonna stay sealed even if you do more work to the domes. Remember, taking more material out of the domes makes the material in the combustion area thinner. Normally not to big of a deal as most of the time it just lowers the compression as well. But taking a regular old dome to 26cc is quite a bit more material. Add boost to that..... Catastrophe. -
Maybe try a vinyl wrap? Probably only last a season or two though. Or, maybe get it hydro dipped? Again probably short lived. It just pressure wash yours and see how it comes out. Worst case scenario STICKER BOMB!
-
Yeah, try the longer one. Take your clutch cable off for the set up. Install the Vito's pressure plate and push against it with the pancake, rod, and ball installed. Pull the lever on the case toward the arrow. Is it going past the arrow before making contact?

Best deal on a hays Multi stage?
trickedcarbine replied to trickedcarbine's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Cam There are only 2 guys I've spoke to that have a well tuned multi stage units and you can definitely pin point where you want the slip. I'm not saying just one gear at a certain time. I'm translating typical Load situations in to points where I'd like the slip. It just so happens to be in a particular gear or two depending on track size and gearing. I do it by hand now but I also have my lock up slipping at an odd time to help on tight stuff to help out. It just means I need to rev it higher to get lock up on the launch. No over ride, I engine brake to much in the turns. It's a WCR pro mod I picked up a few years ago. I'd like to pick your brain one day about a 1-3 Over ride and manual 4-6 so that I can use the 1-3 to help get the hole shot and still be able to engine brake maybe 3-6 -
Getting rubbed/pinched in the perch. Wouldn't happen to be the newer magnum EZ pull would it?

Monkeys & Jigs in the same sentence..... Racist^

As long as it's quality product and consistently mixed. IMO, the synthetics are providing better life. As for the synthetic in the clutch, again it's better life. It also helps manage the heat a little better which helps with fade on long rides. Last benefit, I noticed it seems to have a consistent more predictable feel when being slipped a lot intentionally.

^ every body is always talking about how over rated banshees are and how they really aren't fast. Yet those same idiots use the banshee as the bench mark to compare how fast their shit is.
