  1. Pipes? He's running CPI's to your Rockets.
  2. if it only does it when your bike is cold, then, is it really an issue?
  3. good to hear, man. couldn't imagine being in afghaninstan or iraq about now.
  4. might not always see eye to eye with you, Denny, but you always crack me up
  5. damn, here we go again. once again, I wasn't bashing rocket pipes. loco, you just admitted that your dyno sheet looked funky, so all I was saying, is that it's the only dyno sheet I'd seen where rockets performed better than cpi's. The fact that it was a strange plot made the results less credible to me, at least. Fireman-Hott, again, I'm not bashing, but if the rockets put out more torque, then I'd think that there would be more plots showing this. I know people look at HP more than torque, but if you are putting out less HP, but more torque, it just means you are developing the power at lower RPM's. I have no vested interest in promoting CPI's. In fact, I'll be checking out some other pipes next week. But they are recommended either number one or number 2 consistently by builders as the inframe to run. It must be for a damn good reason. If I got a set of rocket pipes this week, I'd dyno them too.
  6. got a recent pic with the dual rate shocks on front?
  7. http://www.shearerpipes.com/
  8. I run CPI's, and I admit, they are just a plane jane looking pipe, but they are a tried and proven performer, and I really have no complaints with them whatsoever. The only dyno sheet I've seen comparing CPI's and Rockets was loco's, and it's a pretty funky looking dyno plot. Ask 10 builders what they would recommend though, and I can pretty much guarantee an overwhelming majority would recommend the CPI's. Get what you want though. The odds are that they are gonna fall within a couple of hp of one another.
  9. might wanna make a post in the wanted section of planet sand and here. if you want new ones, gopartsdirect.com has decent prices, or PM FASTOYS on here, I'm guessing he'd cut you a deal as well.
  10. Prolly need 310 -320's on the mains. I ran the Toomey needles in the 3rd clip as well and used the stock pilots.
  11. it seems like if you even mention trinity, people turn their noses up. also, the prices are pretty steep for a set of pipes, regardless of the material. I'm not really surprised at the lack of dyno sheets either though. I haven't seen very many rocket dyno sheets either, especially compared to other pipes. The only one I've seen that turned out favorable for Rockets was the one on their website of your old motor, and that curve looks pretty funky compared to any I've seen. Before anyone gets the impression that this is a Rocket bashing post, it isn't. I've been willing to dyno a set of rockets in the past, and had been told that I'd be the next to get their test set, but to no avail. Will be back on the dyno myself in a week and a half, would love to test them then. I'm hoping to have some shearer in frames to test too, along with my CPI's. I'd love to see RNBRAD test out several pipes on his motor so we could get an apples to apples comparison of pipes on the same motor/dyno. Hell, I'd even pitch in some money to help ship the stuff or pay for dyno time if anyone has some pipes laying around. Anyway, anything that helps us all out with gathering information, I'm all for.
  12. I'm the lone 2 stroke guy out of my common riding group. (2 DS650's, 2 450R's, YFZ450, predator, and 686 Raptor). Out of all of those bikes, my buddy's raptor has had the most motor work done (high compression piston, cam, rod, valves, head work) and to me it still feels the most sluggish. I strongly doubt the new 700's put out the HP his bike does, and it's still a slug. After riding the 450's ranging from box stock, to cam'd and piped, the Raptor feels like a diesel engine in comparison. Yeah, it's got some bottom end torque, but it just seem slike a motor that should've been destined for a 4x4 utility quad than a sport bike. The 450's rev faster and farther, IMHO. I'd rather have one of the 450's than 2 raptors.
  13. I'm looking forward to seeing RNBRAD's motor dyno'd with the Trinity's. I'm not a big Trinity fan per se, but it's just a pipe that nobody ever considers because they're Trinity, and everyone loves to hate them for various reasons. I wouldn't be too surprised if they performed better than T5's or even Rockets, but until some results come in, it's hard to speculate.
  14. did anyone other than me notice that even RNBRAD's shop stool is fuckin blinged out in stainless? the dude's got style
  15. even if you find good deals, the shipping on everything will eat your wallet up. like loco said, find a roller. you can get complete motors that need a crank and a topend for 400. Throw a 4mm crank and set of cubs on it and you'll have a screamer.
  16. great post, would be nice to get it stickied
  17. quit giving spoilers, you're ruining it for everyone ^^^^bump
  18. I guess we need to know what this racing jet kit is. Did it come with needles, pilots, mains? If so, what sizes, what clip do you have the needle set to..etc Give a little more info and you'll get more. Do you ride in the sand, what is your gearing, what are your mods, what tires.....
  19. I've never used them personally, but I've never heard them recommended. Wiseco's are probably the most widely used and preferred brand.
  20. The difference between "Guts and "Balls" "Guts" - Is arriving home late after a night out with the guys, being assaulted by your wife with a broom, and having the guts to ask: "Are you still cleaning, or are you planning on flying somewhere?" "Balls" - Is coming home late after a night out with the guys, smelling of perfume and beer, lipstick on your collar, slapping your wife on the a$$ and having the balls to say: "You're next!"
  21. pipes, but I selected other because only FMF's were listed
  22. send me pics of the shocks/a-arms to [email protected] what weight are the shocks setup for?
  23. move the shifter up a notch and just get use to riding with them. it will always be harder to shift with them vs shoes or hiking boots, but you'll get use to them.
  24. I don't think I'd buy anything other than T5's for a stock bike. Prolly a ton of posts like this one if you do a search, but most would agree. There are some die hard pro circuit, paul turner, and fmf junkies here too.
  25. Almost every banshee I see here at the dunes that is more than just piped runs 22" haulers. Hell, even the 450's run an 8 or 9 paddle 22" hauler When I ran my 20's, it was hard to really hook up out of the hole. Maybe the sand out here is just different
