  1. FORMULASPEED, thanks for the pics man, really appreciate it.
  2. I have the Garmin E-trex, it's bottom of the range, but I love it. I reckon it's much better than the glorified bicycle computers everyone seems to be using. The 1st complaint about mine is that the digits are quite small and difficult to read especially when you're barely in control of the bike The 2nd complaint is that the batteries move when you take big hits, which results in the power being switched off, that's easily fixed by shimming the batteries against the cover with a bit of paper. The 3rd complaint, which isn't a big issue where I ride, is that when riding in thick woods the signal can be lost, usually the signal isn't lost completely, just the accuracy suffers a bit.
  3. I've let people ride my bike, I think one has to use a bit of discretion, the main thing is, you have to know if the person is responsible enough and if he can ride. Also, like someone else said, I love to hear what they have to say when they get off.. There are loads of people on the Hq that I would gladly hand my keys too... (and a shitload more that don't qualify)
  4. Well, Jason has been doing pretty well on a bike that's low on compression. Go Team WOR!
  5. Damn I hope not! I've ordered the "natural" colour, hopefully it's transparent so I can see the fuel level. Not too sure how it's gonna look on a white shee though... Any photo's will be most welcome!
  6. Did anyone mention pics??
  7. No milling machine? Damn that sucks, looks like you'll have to cough up the 50... BdBanshee, excellent pics, thanks for sharing!
  8. Nick, you could use the old plugs, try clean them up well and at least know what the base ring looks like before you put them in. IMO heating up the plug and heating up the bike are 2 diffrent issues. You should heat up the engine with a different set of plugs , as a lot of seperated 2-stroke oil that has collected on the crank will be thrown up and sucked into the cylinders, this will definately spoil your reading. As for heating up the plug, this should definately also be done, preferably with a bit of hard riding before you do the WOT test. The black ring you see at the base of the plug is caused by soot depositing at the COLDEST part of the plug, it is obvious that the base of the plug is the coolest as it is the closest to the cooled head and has the massive heat sink of all the metal around it. Once you have covered all of the ceramic with soot in the case of an old plug it will be more difficult to see the soot ring at the base of the plug. As for not seeing the ring at the base of the new plug, my guess is that your WOT test was too short. Where I live I can manage to hold her WOT for at least a minute and I have always been able to see the soot ring on a new plug after the test, provided you're in the ballpark with the main jet allready.
  9. Wow Meat, remind me not to stand close to you in a thunderstorm
  10. It just looks like a common ol' amateur movie to me. I think it's real, but then, I ride a banshee so maybe I'm biased...
  11. I have a PD, nothing wrong with it, however, you won't go wrong with the Noss. Just look at all the aftersales support Mr. Noss is providing to his customers, plus the Noss looks great and you have a choice of colors. If I was in the position to make a choice I would go with the Noss...
  12. You should always hone when putting in new rings. Measure the compression before you open it all up again and post the numbers, the rings will take longer to bed in without honing. I honestly think you have an airleak somewhere, re-check the carb boots, reed cage gasket and the choke tube between the carbs.
  13. Now how's that for a friend!! My buds only sit around the workshop drinking beer and making silly comments when they are supposedly helping me work on my bike...
  14. Damn, how about swopping out the CDI from another bike?
  15. Looks like you just about got the electrical bit covered, how about fuel, maybe a blocked petcock screen or a blocked gas cap vent....
  16. do you have the baja or fat series Baja
  17. I also have a DG, mine was a bitch to install, the saddle clamps provided don't sit square on the lower frame rails. Also, the hole for the tranny oil drain doesn't line up with the drain plug. Other than that I have no complaints, it's taken its fair share of abuse.
  18. I never stop to cool it down... Jetted slightly rich, no engine ice, inline cooler or any of that shit.

    women

Yeah, I'm following this one with interest...
  20. Any opinions on these?
  21. Go to "piant" with the original picture, crop out the unwanted detail so all that's in the pic is the shift star. Go to the image button, scroll down to strech/skew and shrink the pic a little bit at a time until it's 50K.
  22. All I can see is a red x, so I dug up my September wallpaper of Kira. That bike has always been one of my favourates, it'll be sad to see it go...
  23. chipdog, your'e the man! Please don't take my reply the wrong way, typed in good spirit, no offense intended!!!
  24. But, I wouldn't mind one of these...
