  14. Why not just get some fmf pipe cleaner. I have used this stuff and works wonders on cleaning up fmf pipes. Sometimes it is hard to find. Then your son does not have to buy a new set or take these off and get them chromed. Just an idea.

  18. To do a leakdown test, you need to remove the pipes, and plug the exhaust ports. Then remove the carbs and plug one side and put in an adaptor with a pressure guage and pump on the other side. Now pump up the pressure to about 5 pounds. Now watch the pressure guage, it should hold 5 pounds of pressure for about 5 minutes. If it drops, you have a leak. To find the leak, use a mixture of dishsoap and water, and run this around the base gaskets and intake boots and gaskets. If you find bubbles, then you have found your leak. You can make one of these tester with parts from your local hardware store, or I think motion pro makes one as well.
  19. Since you are going to freshen up your motor with new pistons, and are going to get it ported, get it ported to work with your stroker crank. You already have the bigger carbs, and head to work with it. Talk to your engine builder and he should be able to set you up. No point to waste a perfectly good crank by letting it sit on the shelf collecting dust
  20. Almost forgot, if you are using the stock carbs off the rz, you need to plug off the oil injection ports(pull out the barbed fittings and install brass plug, or put rubber boots on them) or they will cause the engine to go lean.
  21. Sounds like there is a problem that has not been fixed, since you engine keeps on blowing up. First thing to do is a leak down test on the engine to see if there are any leaks. If there are no leaks, then it is time to start doing jetting runs and looking at your spark plugs to see if your jetting is correct. If your bike is jetted correctly and there are no air leaks, it should not blow up every three hours. hope this helps
  22. thanks for the info
  23. Always ran Weisco in any 2 stroke that I have, and never any problems.
