  1. Interesting, I just had my 250r on the dyno and there were nice gains to be had with the programable ignition. So I thought another trip to the dyno with the banshee and test it out with the programable dyna.
  2. Does anyone have a link to or know what the stock banshee ignition curve looks like. What about some modified curves, I am thinking of getting a dyna programable ignition and wanted a few curves to try out and see what works the best. Just for reference my banshee has plus 4 ignition on it now, stock port cylinders, fmf gnarly pipes, 28 pwk carbs, boysen reeds, case porting, and cylinder head has been cut for more compression.
  3. what klind of riding are the cylinders ported for
  4. thanks for the replies, found a set
  5. I am looking to get a set of stock banshee cylinders. What do you have. Don`t mind if they need to be bored out, but not on the last bore. thanks
  6. What is the biggest carbs that will work with the stock thumb throttle. Will a set of 35mm pwk`s work or do I need a different thumb throttle. thanks
  7. Hi looking for a rear brake pedal with mounting hardware, coils with mounting, overflow bottle, shiftlever, rear brake rotor with mounting bolts. I think that is it. would like to buy from 1 person so I don`t get killed on shipping. This stuff needs to be shipped to Canada as well. thanks

    What size rims

Sounds like I nee to switch to a 8 inch rim. Currently I have 20x10x10 8 paddle haulers. Maybe 20-12-8 8 paddle is the way to go
  12. Hi, I have been reading some of the comments on paddle tires and rim sizes. What are the reasons for running the 8 inch rims as opposed to a 9 or 10 inch rims. Some people seem to think a 8 inch rim is better, will give a bike or 2 lengths difference when drag racing as opposed to a 10 inch rim. thanks
  13. do you still have the dune port cylinders, can you send me some pics. What kind of pîpe and carb set up are they ported for. what kind of head did you run with the set up
  14. I lost my manual, and need help. What is the correct stator check out procedure. I had one of the screws on the stator come loose and break a wire or 2. All soldered back together, but just want to check it out before I re install it. thanks
  15. Has anyone tried a mothers powerball with the polish they sell with it. Thought that it might help bring a shine to old plastic once a person has sanded it to get all the scratches and fading out. just an idea. I am looking for a way to put some new life into some plastic for my nephews lt80.
  16. Finally got the shee out after a rebuild on it. Stripped down to the frame and pcèd and rebuilt the engine, added some 28 pwks and ditched the air box. Also added some +2 a arms and elkas on it. Wow a completely different bike. Cant believe how well it runs. Still needs a bit more jetting work, but a big thanks to helped answer questions I had. thanks again and see you out there
  17. interested if you still have them. pm me
  18. like I said it is my opinion. Just trying to help out a guy with his build. You did not even have anything to help this guy, just bash what I had to say. Why don`t you just go back to the sandbox and play with your other 6 year old friends
  19. well everyone has their own opinions
  20. the only 2 places in my opinion to get a 250r ported is eddie sanders racing in california or arlan at LEd(formerly of LRD). They can both build up a nice 250r engine. Many different ways to go if you want to go big bore. Sleeve a stock cylinder or go with a pro-x cylinder. Stock cylinder can go to a 310. Pro-x can go 310,330,350, and then larger if you want to put in a stroker crank. Anythinkg over a 310 will require to cases to be bored to get the cylinder to slip in. If you go with the pro-x go with the powervavle. No comparison to the non powervalve. You have the pipe, now would just need a larger carb to make it breathe. Both of those places have the cylinders on the shelf, or can get them quick. Getting you current cylinder ported could take some time with the shipping both ways as well as waiting in line to get ported. The 310 should be able to beat his buddies banshee, no problem.
  21. all depends on how much money he wants to spend. If you are doing the top end, get the 89 cr250 head gasket. It will increase the compression. A bigger carb will help. You could get a cool head with different domes. Go to eddie sanders webwsite. He makes different domes for bottom, mid range or top end. Biggest thing with mine was jettng it correctley. The stock jetting is so far off it is incredible.
  22. Just figure out which gears you need and take them off the cluster. Then go down to the dealership and order new ones. Then put them on the shaft and you are good to go
  23. you should get the cdi, powervalve controller, and powervavle servo and cables, and the flywheel and stator. as for pipes the paul turners will fit, I have heard that the rockets will fit. Other pipes might but need to be modified to fit around the cover for the pulley for the powervalves. Yu can then wire it all up and find a way to mount the powervalve servo. You can really mount it anywhere and just build your own cables. I did it that way on one of mine. Just went to the bicycle shop and got a cable building kit. It had the sheath cable and ends that you needed. Then figure out how big to make it. The whole project was not very hard, just a little time consuming. It also helps to have the wiring diagram for the rz.
  24. I had a rz powered banshee and loved it. Comparing stock to stock, there was no comparison. the rz had more power everywhere. I loved the wide ratio tranny as well. Shifted les often. Worked great. That is what yamaha should have put inthe shee to start with.
