  1. After reading this i am rethinking going with the 200w ricky stator for my DC conversion. I need a higher rated stator to pull that off. Who makes a reliable high powered stator? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Moose-Yamah...Q2em118Q2el1247 Moose chinese junk too? FWIW my 88 still has the factory stator and so does the wifes bike, they run great. But DC powered lights would be great at the dunes at night.
  2. Aluminum or steel sprockets?
  3. stock length rod? Welded? Picture(s)?
  4. Upload the pictures to photobucket See my 57 ad and right click it to see the properties.... the site will size em to fit on the thread no worries about 60 k or whatever that way.
  5. The passenger compartment floor pans ARE SOLID the trunk floor needs to be replaced. There is no engine or transmission THere are Disc brakes on the front. 12 bolt out of a 68-69 camaro the front suspension is ALL NEW. Ball joints, bushings and tie rods are NEW all the sheet metal is there. All that is missing (to my knowledge) is the grille, front seat, and interior panels. The light bar that mounts in the grille area is broken. This car is in need OF A TOTAL RESTORATION. throwing an engine, transmission and seats will not give you a cruiser $4000 or trade for a like value 60's mid sized muscle CAR If you have any questions or want more pictures PM me.
  6. Pull the engine. Take the engine apart, all the way apart. split the case and look at the transmission. On N2O shifting into 6th gear. Your trans has some broken teeth. Get an aftermarket set of gears or you will be very good at splitting your cases.
  7. If you were lucky you screwed up the shifter shaft or the pin that centers the shifter shaft under the clutch cover... either way the clutch cover needs to come off. If you are unlucky you are splitting the cases and replacing some gears. Take it apart and let us know what went wrong.
  8. what is the best online retailer to get one of these at a decent price?
  9. Leave the ports stock. Go with FMF fatties or T-6's TORS removal K&N in a stock air box with the K&N lid (All you ever have to service is the lid!) Tweak the stock reed cages or V-force Spend all your money in suspension. You'll be happy with it. My banshee isn't the fastest in my group but they are now very reliable.
  10. Nyuk, what is your preferred payment ? I don't care for paypal personally. Postal money order? Personal check? Pm me the details and i will get it out to you as soon as i get home (around a week or so)
  11. Like the topic and description say. Would prefer to get it all from one person shipped to 92040....last things i need to get my 98 on 4 wheels. Coming home from deployment and want to get this bike running before the next dune season.
  12. Drag port 370 made 66 hp on gas. jumped to 74 hp 60 lb ft of torque with 35mm pwk's on gas. that was with FMF fatties. proably could make more power with cpi's or shearers or OOF's I just didn't want to spend more money at the time... Don't know if it was a stingy or generous dyno. a local 600 sprint car racer needed some "guinea pigs" to dial in the dyno to compare repeatability to his daughters sprint car. so i ran my banshee,,, dyno time for free is great as long as nothing breaks!
  13. Pictures? Mileage? Comparable value you are looking for? A new set of Vortecs cost $400 and outperform L98 heads.
  14. What about some Keihin 34 mm roundslides?
  15. What he said... shipped to 92040
  16. Using dykem, hermaphroditic calipers, my foredom hand piece with various burrs and luck my first attempt at porting made 74hp on gas. It was a light switch. I would love to be able to just mount them on a fixture in a 4 axis HBM or a 5 axis machining center but i don't work in a CNC shop anymore. how long does it take to run a set of cylinders in a mill?
  17. I have played with porting my cylinders myself. Did not use "timing" i just used the deck to measure from, and either ground closer to or further away from in equal distances on both cylinders plus or minus about .010" I keep reading about port timing and that sounds like a beter way of porting. Soooo i have a degree set for cam timing but the wheel is too freaking big to use easily on a banshee engine. what size does the pro's use and where do you get them? also what do you use for a piston stop? Thanks for the info.
  18. Man everyone that lives away from dune areas is spoiled.... $1800 for a bike that runs? 2001? Never see a banshee for sale that low around me that lasts for more than a few hours. Be it craigslist or the trader. Yeah check suspension for play. put the bars straight and look at the front wheels. If one is turned some the tie rod on that side is fubar the frame or a-arm is bent, check the axle, look at the chain adjustment bolts, if they are all the way in you are going to need a new chain and sprockets.... Pick it apart if you don't want to pay what he is asking. the more you find wrong the more "ammo" you have. But there is a fine line in negotiating for a lower price... don't piss of the seller he/she could just decide "fuck you your an ass i am not selling to you at any price" had it happen to me and i have done it to a couple of people when i was selling my chevelle.
  19. LOL Where do you think i got my screen name? Now i just bring along the parts i think might break while i am out there... Shifter shaft, the stud that the shifter aligns on, a complete top end with gaskets and set of carbs that is jetted for that combo(t-5's to fatty's isn't enough to worry about on a non ported top end) as far as dream engine. I have 2 "play / dune engine" 4 mil, stock cylinders, "mildly" ported, Vf2/3's, t-5's, dyna cdi, tors removed, on gas. "go fast engine" BILLET CASE, 10 mil, DM, "wildly" ported, 41 mm on alky, with nitrous, OOF pipes out each side with stingers
  20. Do i need to sell the Shee's (not the drag bike of course) and get a <gasp> 4 stroke? or are there shee friendly riding areas in south carolina? Of course this isn't concrete yet. Depends on the need of the "service" but right now that is my only option unles i go back to sea (not bloody fucking likely) 78 days at home in the past year.
  21. Loco had a CR500 powered banshee... From the pics of the frame didn't seem too involved to shoehorn that in there. Just take your time and make it look like the factory did it... its gonna scoot!
  22. Skate II's are very good paddles. I have a set myself(on my wifes banshee)
  23. Imagine doing comercial lawn service in scottsdale, arizona. and having your customers resetting the sprinkler timers to save money on the water bill... then complaining when their grass isn't as lush as they want it.... freaking nightmare... Takes a ton of water to keep grass deep beautiful green in the desert in the summer. Hey since i won't be home to visit until next year go to Pat's and get a cheesesteak for me? hell Gino's, Jims, or even Tony Lukes will work. just make sure you get sharp provolone ok? Thanks
