  1. my buddys completely stock 05 had a crank twist and it toasted the top end!! for the money it costs, its cheap insurance! Especially when you start cranking up the compression and hp!
  2. should be that way stock. make sure you set it at .018-.020 not the .18-.20 (it will not run if you put it that far out!)
  3. Those picas where from last year when a couple of the guys overt here got a little ansy
  4. only time I have seen the floats cut was when they where converted to alky. It will run with one cut, but it may run like crap down low! Your dealer ship should be able to get the floats for ya. Do you have another set of mains to compare the ones at are in it to?? Only thing I would be worried about is if the mains and dumps where drilled for alky. If they where, you will never get them jetted for gas! get a drill index and see what size drill bit will fit down the dump tube and report back
  5. seen these in person, they are sweet!!
  6. sell just the blue fronts?
  7. I have heard a business card will work also, you want it at about .18 - .20 thousandths
  8. got an address?? what all did you send him?? I can round up the troupes and send a welcome give for ya!
  9. I would buy the top end kit from one of the site sponsors on here, you are gonna pay more for it at the dealer! The right way to do it is to order the pistons first, then send them to the machine shop with the cylinders so the clearances can be set when they bore and hone them. If you dont know of any good machine shops around your area, like chase said, box up the cylinders and send them into F.A.S.T. he has everything you could possibly need to do your top end right at his shop. When you call him he will be able to talk you threw what all is needed to do it right. 785-364-5325 is the number guys name is jeff.
  10. sounds like the floats are not set right if you have fuel coming out of the over flow. Dave had power jets installed in his gas carbs when he had his cub last year. Bike seemed to run great. He just jetted it perfect. Installed the power jets, dropped the mains a couple and richened it back up with the power jet. It was nice because when the temp changed all he had to do was screw the power jet in or out to compensate!
  11. or you can put it on alcohol and just use water! I can touch the cylinders after a couple passes down the track!
  12. it only takes 15 min to pull the motor out of the frame. not that much longer to split the cases. I have rinsed them out with atf before, and I have also just split them for piece of mind. Its your call. You never can be to sure of if you got all of the little pieces out by just rinsing them out. Its your call though
  13. Mine was built out of 3/4 tube chrome alloy and welded on. I have seen some company's out there that make sub frames that are bolt on also. http://davemooreracing.com/Chassis_Mods.html here is one example
  14. http://www.planetsand.com/forums/ubbthread...5207#Post765207 Workin a trade for my mud truck and my bike for this beast!!
  15. yeah.. dont drill it... screw it. sorry could not resist
  16. you may have to make me a deal I cant refuse on the ten mill then. I would have to get it ported though!
  17. you can lose performance if you run a real high octane and you do not need it. The higher the octane rating, the slower it burns to prevent detonation. I would run at least a 50/50 mix in anything over 160 psi. Why risk it when gas is much cheaper than pistons! I think I would just run the 100 oct. But there is nothing wrong with mixing 50/50 race gas pump gas. I think I would mix 93 with the 110 though.
  18. yes you can do them, but you can not put them in the oven! there is a bushing in the ball joint that will melt, and the ball joints are not replaceable. You have to use a ultra violet light to cure the powder coating.
  19. how do you always seem to stumble across these great deals?? Built a 10 mill for next to nothing, got a set of carbs given to ya, now your going bigger! Spend alot of time under the desk or something? just kiddin with ya man!
  20. funny that he has to keep building bigger to get away from the little ol 4 mills!
  21. I would say air leak with the mods you listed. was it old pre mix or anything like that?? can you take a couple pics of the plugs and stuff??
  22. Misewell throw a can of this in with my oil!
  23. I was out there watching a couple times, my bike was down most of the winter for upgrades etc...
