I had his clutch with 6HD springs, a new clutch cable and an EZ Pull lever and perch in my 4 mil cub, it was around 90 plus HP, held no problem. Since it wasn't a lockup and override, it Shifted like absolute shit....but, it held it. Do yourself a favor and get an EZ pull lever and perch to get rid of all that OEM Parking brake garbage and a new cable. You'll be amazed on how easy the pull is.

Honestly, I have nothing but MAD respect for team PR. They spray the everliving piss out of those bikes and they run amazing numbers. If you go to a top fuel event, they're tearing down motors between runs, these guys have the same mentality....make a pass, replace pistons, etc. If they were running air filters or not...so be it. I just posted a few pics of their bikes direct from PS. They put their bikes in a crate, shipped it to the race, dumped a TON of cash, and left what they didn't need. A good friend of mine, Brad Adams and family pitted next to them. Great group of guys that worked their asses off...mad props to them. I know guys I used to ride with on street bikes ran no filters. Never rode in construction, dirt roads, etc. But I can't see the advantage of not running air filters of some type in any kind of sand, dirt, etc., especially with those kind of motors and that kind of cash.... Either way, whatever...I wouldn't be riding a trail bike through mud, dirt, etc. and make a big deal of it. If they do....good for them....
-
And it also should be noted... These are track bikes. This guy is talking about trail riding, mud...etc. If he doesn't want to run a filter, great. I think that's bad advice in that situation all across the board.

These all look like they have air filters. You were there Jarid...you should know, but these were taken off PS website for the race. This is Angel S. I see you point...and I understand. But at a certain point members, all of them, can get tired of posting the same thing over and over again as well...so, you might not get all the help or advice you'd like. Enter the search...and there's plenty of info there... All I'm sayin...

OK...in that case, here you go.
-
No offense, but 10 different banshees in your sig and you're wondering what clutch to run?
-
You're gonna find fans on both sides of the fence. I can tell you a good friend of mine praises his customer service...and he's made quite a few people happy. Just as important, ask him what his realistic turn around time is as well. Talk to him regarding what kind of power to expect. It's his work, the rest of us are just guesstimating.

Great. Every motor is different, as are it's need for fuel/air, timing, etc. If you really wanted to impress us, tell me the UCCR, since it's compression ratio, NOT cranking or static compression that determines the need for higher octane. More timing is the result of an improper combustion chamber/design/process.... If you're telling me a stock port, stock carb bike on T5s with 6.5 degrees of timing is beating a 4 mil bike, so be it. That's a sorry running 4 mil, improperly setup, poor rider and/or a 350 lb rider. I've seen a guy on a banshee get beat by a 400EX. Does that mean the 400EX is neccessarily faster? No... The fact the guy couldn't ride the banshee for shit was the problem. Have you timed the bike with an actual timing light? or are you just estimating the timing based on the plate? Hey, if it's fast for you, great....that's all that's important. But each bike is different, as are it's needs.

Precisely.... Cutting off coils makes it easier at first, then just as stiff as before. Making it worse actually. Sand a little metal off the outside of the coils changes the WHOLE spring, less material, less resistance.
-
Heat the stud up, press a candle to it, any kind...and let the wax run down into the stud threads. It works...trust me. With excessive heat on the cases, you risk warping.

Puerto Rico has some VERY fast bikes. They did well in Gilbert. They also use periods and capital letter when they type on forums, and in the pictures of ALL of their bikes they use air filters. So...contrary to your typing, I can tell you this. The fastest drag bikes in Puerto Rico do in fact use air filters.

Improper installation, wrong size piston, defect...all could be culprit. Check it out....a banshee in proper health and tune should start in 1 or 2 kicks every time.
-
Exactly what I was thinking... Get a compression reading, REGARDLESS if it was just rebuilt or not. You perfectly described a low PSI motor....in fact, if it starts AND runs fine once it's warmed up...I'd almost be certain it was piston/bore/ring time....
-
100% fake....at least they made shadows....
-
It's changed, says 80MPH + now...LOL.

Yes... He is the retarded cousin nobody talks about, we keep locked in the cellar with a ball gag. Just like Chunk in the Goonies. When Firehead stops by...we tie a steak around Chunk's neck so Firehead can play with him. I think he dresses him up as a pirate hooker, but I can't confirm that...and I'd bet Fire won't come clean on that anyways....
-
I'm sure I'll get some hater posts...so, yeah...I"m sure I'll have a new friend. I'm sure it'll be the next banshee on Ebay or Craigslist verified doing 120MPH next to his buddies truck down a country road...on stock tires and stock gearing.
-
Ride without any air filters, and in mud and rain... OOOOKKKK>.... Here's your sign.
-
Rider weight, setup, gearing, traction..etc. All play a factor. Port it...get some tires and a clutch that'll get the power to the ground. Learn to ride it halfway decent, you should mop them up.
-
Put the horse before the cart, please. When you tear it down, you will need to have the cylinders checked for wear. If the piston to wall clearance is not within spec even on a new set of pistons, you're wasting your money and time. New pistons in a worn out bore will only wear out prematurely... Get it measured and checked out before you just buy pistons.... wiseco pro-lites are the industry standard for a reason. They work... No use reinventing the wheel.

Porting, Porting, Porting....
-
Let me know when I can stop by to pick mine up...
-
22 cc domes shouldn't be too small, that's for sure. Need to check for an air leak and squish for starters.
-
They call you firehead, that thing has red hair...I'll let the rest of the group decide....
