Jeez....what rock did you crawl out from? Good to see you... I was amazed at how well Couture took a beating...and how he has yet to be submitted to this day. This was not the same Nog that fought and lost to Frank Mir. (I know...Nog was sick...) Obviously, anything can happen in MMA. That's the big draw of it. One slip, one perfectly placed shot, etc... That being said, I don't see anyone that can beat Machida or Spider in the UFC right now. Now...if they fought... But we already all know they will never fight each other... I think hendo will give spider a better fight than Nate...but again, I don't see either beating him. Hendo is not happy about Dana saying he'll fight Nate before Spider...he thinks that he's already earned that fight next.

If this one doesn't suit your fancy...maybe one day, Unicef will get into the used banshee parts business. Until then...this is what you get. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-BANSHEE-YFZ-350-FUEL-VALVE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2em20Q2el1116QQhashZitem3ef36720a9QQitemZ270371594409QQptZMotorsQ5fATVQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Seriously...that Google Thing was F'in funny, I don't care who you are.... If you haven't seen them by now, the two big fights lived up to their billing. Randy and Minutauro had an epic battle...that's all I'll say. The Jardine/Silva fight was good too!!! I got the links from my buddy Brady, he's more into the MMA than I am...I just PPV the fights... Good luck.

I doubt the pinhole did it. I had several on my pipes from the last time at the track, and it actually cracked on the seam and I still made a bunch of passes. Stupid, I know...but didn't hurt the motor at all. Bigger bowls or a pingle would be my next bet. While the air/fuel mixture is probably fine, if it runs out of fuel...it won't survive long.

1988 shee, $1800 ...... do I want it?
dajogejr replied to Powerplant's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Keep looking.... 55 hours fresh? That's like saying I have 80,000 miles original on my truck...and the motor is fresh. there are WAY better deals out there. -
Coil is probably fine. read above please. The end of the wires that clip on your spark plugs got water in them...possibly.
-
Well...it does sound like you covered your bases....and your specs seem to be damn near spot on. Are you using a stock fuel valve or a pingel? If the carbs are new...and clean, I don't see that being the issue. If your piston to wall clearance and ring end gap are fine, I think you're running out of fuel. A faulty ignition can cause it to run like crap, but won't melt it down like that. Did you see any signs of Orings in the head breaking/leaking. Here's my thoughts...either it's running out of fuel OR the surface of the cylinders or the head/shell/domes isn't sealing right. If you suck antifreeze it can lean out in a hurry.

I want whatever dope he's smoking... And I don't smoke.

I put a billet impeller in mine to not worry about the stock plastic one coming apart....
-
Good chance the coil got wet, remove both spark plug boots and dry them off. Replace them with NGK boots.

support those that support the site. You won't go wrong...

New place to ride in lower michigan
dajogejr replied to Steves banshee's topic in Riding and Events Forum
Adding a place to drag would be the best thing this guy could do. Please!! Whomever rides there please come back and report. Details, terrain, turn out, requirements (yeah, I know they're posted) This is good news!!! -
Mayo Welding. I split a seam on my pipes again a few weeks ago. He actually has it at the shop to re-weld the seam with stainless rod! They are some welding mofos there...been in that biz about 50 years!

Well...he's from Canada...so figure extra on that shipping. And...the last time he posted before the sale was February of 2008. I wouldn't trust on that alone...sorry, just me.

Somewhere close to you, there is a repair shop that loves all of you guys. Regular gas will last a while sitting in your bowls. Race gas will last even longer. Personally, I'd rather take 1/2 hour to 1 hour and remove the carbs and clean them if this was an issue than run it out of gas and lean it out. Do a compression test. And it's possible your carbs are out of sync, dirt in the carbs...what jetting is currently in it?

I won't run a wheelie bar without a strut. When you run a shock, it hits the bar, squats the back end and takes away holeshot inertia.

100X yes on the leak down test. I bought a leak down tester from RB Porting in MI. I've sold several of them for him to members. I've saved a few motors already by letting buddies borrow it. It could show at idle, it could do real funny things at high RPMs (not where you want to diagnose a problem). You can make your own or spend 50 bucks for the one I got. Three basic things every motor should have done before they are ever fired: Leak down test first Squish test next Compression test cold. If any of those are off, you just saved yourself a lot of headaches and more so money!

Boyseen power reeds use the stock metal bars. Do not use the stock reed stops. No..they won't break off in ported motors any more they would a stocker. On a drag motor, you'll notice more out of the VF3. Just a ported set of stockers for play/dune riding, ported stock cages with Boyseen reeds are just fine.

If you have a filter in the factory air box, I agree...340 is too big. however, if you have Pods...that's about right. By any chance, is it the right side plug moreso than the left side? Black plugs on the right side mean a crank seal is leaking and you're sucking tranny fluid into the combustion chamber... These two strokers don't like tranny/gear fluid...

Do us all a favor, just post a link to the article next time..sheesh.

Normally.... You make a 3 point bracket for your wheelie bar. Two points mount at the bottom pinch bolts (taking into consideration you bought a roundhouse carrier style arm) and the third is above the pinch bolts. A triangle of sort...if you will. Most of us use a go kart type tire for it. Here's the bracket I'm talking about at the back of the bike. It bolts to the pinch bolts on the carrier and the lower shock bolt.

99... You do seem to have a better level of maturity than most kids. That's a good start. Only experience will round you out....and as you know, you can't get that from behind a keyboard.... I'm just going to have to disagree about the DS/banshee thing. If the kid on the banshee beats him, so be it...good for him. I'm sure there's a DS forum somewhere that they're laughing at us on....big deal. A lot of times, these "who will win" threads never pan out. All they have to do is race...period. that solves it. To be honest, that's why I like riding a track. Lights and timers. Obviouly, they could malfunction, but way more often than not....the lights and timers don't lie. You jump...you red light, etc. Levels the playing field so to speak.
-
Dude...just put a kill switch on. Do not run it out of gas. No, unless the case isn't sealed properly, it won't run on gear oil. No, increasing the timing won't make it rev up.
