How fast is a polaris predeter 500?
dajogejr replied to rynb15's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Predaturds belong in trails. Heavy, but good suspension. A piped and jetted only banshee should walk it once you both get out of the hole... -
What type of plugs do you guys run?
dajogejr replied to 2001JLShee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
A lean bike is going to run strong, not as long though.. Remember, leaner is meaner. If you KNOW it's lean, why don't you richen it up and save your motor? Plugs aren't going to save it.... -
Who makes the best clutches
dajogejr replied to LIM_Whiteboy4life's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Did Jeff @ FAST make it right with you? That's the important part....we all make mistakes.... His clutch is well worth the second chance. Beat on it all last year with my stock motor, bolt on goods. Been beating the hell out of it with my 4 mil cub motor....still going good.... -
What type of plugs do you guys run?
dajogejr replied to 2001JLShee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Find a new mechanic....8's do fine all day long. I'm switching to 9's cause I'm going to be running alky.... Please don't tell me your mechanic said use a 9 "because it'll make it run cooler...".... :: BR8ES and be done. I ran BR8ES in my cubs few weekends ago at Silver Lake, bought some BR8EIX plugs to see if there was a difference, nope....other than my wallet was a little smaller..... I personally don't think the irridium plugs are worth the money, if your bike is jetted properly and maintained properly, you should NEVER foul a plug. -
As long as the slides OPEN all the way, doesn't matter if they're out of sync at WOT, unless they're retarded out of sync. Slides can go in either way...or in either carb. Check 'em.... I'd start checking your stator and coil with an OHM meter, then take off your flywheel (with the correct puller, NOT A jaw type) and shake it to make sure there are no busted up magnets inside.... Rest assured, stock carbs call for 21 mm height, measured from top of float to gasket surface on carb.
-
Why are you running a drag port on stock carbs and CPIs? Also, what's your compression at? At your elevation, you'd need a lot taken off that head and more timing to require race gas.... Start with 350s and work your way down, prolly use stock to 27.5 pilots.

Whats the side affects of NOT having your bike jetted?
dajogejr replied to Ron Burgandy's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Pull the choke cold, should be that way.... Shouldn't have to pull the choke when you're warmed up. Use the Search....it's covered a million times!! -
This is how out of it I am.... I only looked at the first two pictures, I didn't even SCROLL Down.... I was thinking to myself....what's the big deal??? Two globes...ha ha... Sorry....that is some cool shit!!
-
Wow...that's pretty funny!!! I guess I misread the part in Banshee-Man's post that said it'll work that way on every single bike/motor combo you put it on....not just his own personal experience with his own bike... Oh, my bad...he didn't say that.... Since you mentioned the PS drags....why don't you scope out what they're running. The average Joe's will have Dynas...I'd bet on it. The more exotic bikes with ALL the bells and whistles will probably have PVLs....
-
Go download for free Google Earth...even better.
-
Either is fine. Some will tell you to put the stock pipe back in if you have it, for you need the "equalizer" in there. I've run 'em both ways.... If you have the pipe, use it...it'll save you a trip to the hardware store.
-
Did you put the idle screw kits in? Did you get the float bowls on correctly? Carb slides in the right carbs (cutaways face the rear of the bike) Choke tube in place? Lastly, revisit all of the wiring, make sure you disconnected the TORS everywhere, not just the two carb caps. You're jetting sounds just about right.... Did you put the idle screw kits in? Middle clip, 27.5 pilot (one step up from stock 25) air screw 1.0 to 2.0 turns out...and use a 260 main as you have.... I'm assuming you're running a full airbox and lid...
-
I'll tell you what, that was very, VERY interesting. The only problem....you have to have brand new pieces...or I'd be sending them out a tranny like yesterday. I wonder what that would do for...pistons for example... Very cool...

im buying a banshee what should i look to be wrong
dajogejr replied to shees ripin's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Yeah, sell your Scrambler and buy a used banshee and still pocket money. YOu are literally throwing money away, and can use that to hop up any other banshee you might buy. If he wanted to trade the banshee and cash for you, I'd say go for it. A BONE Stock 98 in pristine condition around here is only worth 2000 to 2250 or so. Your scrambler in good shape has to be worth 3200 or more... -
I didn't know Nmotion did shit for two strokes...I know they got a lot of new 450 parts out, YFZ and TRX. My buddy got his 564 kit and Falicon crank from them...and it sucks ass...period. enFORCER...no offense, but PVLs from what I've read AND seen are nothing but trouble and hassle. Having to check the piston with a dial caliper itself to set the timing? No thanks....and just a tad bit of moisture, forget about it. Done. PHX....all have their own opinion, I've read 10X more good about a dyna than I have bad, and I'm very confident in my ignition on my bike. Do a search here, do a search on Planet Sand.com, and draw your own conclusions is all....
-
I think he used USPS, not UPS....and they only provide a signature/delivery confirmation tracking if you pay extra for it...
-
I did a search on Dyna....and here's a search results claiming more than just 1 HP. Take it with a grain of salt if you will... I looked here and on Planet Sand for about 6 months worth of postings...can't find the one I'm looking for. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...380&hl=dyna

Send 'em to a reputable builder, and they will be able to tell you.
-
Quick communication, quick payment as promised.... Funny thing is, I bought the carbs off him earlier this year, he wanted 'em back... I guess they got homesick... Thanks much, Steve...
-
Agreed....you'd be wasting your money on CPIs or Shearers with a stock port motor....you'll lose most or all of your bottom end, and probably won't gain on much on top...or, might lose some actually... Shave the flywheel and bump the timing for more umph. Then, think about porting when it's time to freshen up the top end.

98 banshee with mods, which octane to run?
dajogejr replied to snakeman52646's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
HELL YES!!!! You're lucky, that motor is telling you something....a 20 dollar head gasket is a lot cheaper than a top end and crank! I almost asked you if it was popping gaskets.... Yeah, I would stop running that bike all together, it's only going to get more expensive to fix!! -
Good for you in figuring that out for yourself!!! The old choke trick is great!!! I think they're just fine, if not a tad rich. BIG DEAL!!! Go ride and have fun!! Bring it on...sucka.... :yelrotflmao: You'll win...Jeff. I just had some BOMBS dropped on me at work, not as much time to screw around and check the boards. My production is down...dammit...LOL...

I will say Chase is a 100% stand up guy, period. However....if it were me, I would bit the bullet, take it in the can...and refund his money....with sincere apologies. Chalk it up as bad shipping...and a lesson to use a tracking number next time. I only ship FedEx as well, provide a tracking number....and have NEVER had an issue in over 10 years using them. Chase, at least it's some shocks (hopefully, just a set of stockers)...think how upset you'd be if it were a 2500 cub motor... Chase, I sold my stock fronts and stock rear in the last few months, or I would drop ship them to this user for you, no charge. You'd owe me a few stickers, of course. That's what kind of a stand up guy Chase is.
