  1. if you r getting a boss intake, your airbox will not line up as the intake pushes carbs back almost 3/4 inch, then if you push back the airbox, the coolant bottle doesnt line up in the rear fender,im currently trying to figure out how im gonna make my setup work,i want to keep the stock air box and lid,as i trail ride in water and mud
  2. ........check for a small rubber hose that goes between the 2 carbs,i think its an equlizer tube, while working on my bike one day,i left this hose off and bike took for ever to start!!replace the choke plunger but its like 30$
  3. just got my 28mm boss racing intakes from ebay(eliminated the prodesign intake with boost bottle)also ditched stock carbs for 28mm keihins.installed intake installed carbs, then upp poly carb-to-airbox boots.now my air box is being pushed back almost an inch.the intakes push the carbs back far.i trail ride sometimes through creeks and mud and want to keep my airbox and lid to keep out water and debris.how do i make this whole thing work???also, since the coolant tank mounts to airbox, and the air box is being pushed back....the lid to the tank will not line up in the rear fender!!!!can i relocate the tank somewhere else?????????what do i do????????????i have it all hooked up but air box is not bolted up because now the mounts dont line up!!!!!!!!!???????????????
  4. just got 28mm keihens, mid and top end power is great but small bog right off idle, its not a huge problem as its plenty rideable, just have to take off using a little more gas than normal!!!does this sound like a pilot jet problem...what i dont understand is, is the bog caused from getting too much fuel,or not enough fuel???can i solve it by messing with the air screws?
  5. im killing my steering stem upper bushing and lower bearingevery season,is anyone making a better upper bushing, with a greaes fitting perhaps?
  6. just wondering if anyone out there is still running the old toomey t3's.i hear they are the sickest pipes toomey ever made?is this true, does anyone have any for sale?
  7. my buddy has the old toomey t3's and he swears by them!!he has an 87 banshee with front j-arms.he claims that the t3' were designed in a specific way to clear the j-arms and the front fenders, since yamaha switched to front a-arms,toomey redesigned the piped.if you see the t3's compared to a set of t5's or t6's,there night and day diffrence, needless to say,his bike rips with those old pipes!!i saw a set on ebay that fetched 475.00!!!and there not even chromed!!!!
  8. hello,is anyone using an atv tire bead breaker,do they scratch the rims?there are some on ebay, are they good?do they work?i saw one that is 2 long levers that you squeeze together,.another one i saw requires you simply put the tire on it,pull down the handle, this one looks like you would mount it to a work benck
  9. i read the section on how the carb works,i understand how it works, but i cant seem to grasp how to properly adjust that dam air screw!!,i know you pro's hate answering the same questions over and over, but can someone please give me a quick explanation of how to adjust the air screw, running fmf fattys(jetting is fine,260 main-30 pilot) cool head 22 cc domes(thats reakky it for the mods)thanks guys
  10. i have been using 2r since i bought my bike new in 98,one 16oz bottle for 3 gallons of gas, never fowled plugs, ever!!!didn't even do piston and rings until 02,i swear by the stuff!!!!
  11. yes, these are the ports i am refffering to.are these ports included with a port job,or will most shops charge extra for this,and......is it worth it
  12. my buddy ported his cylinders at home and his bike rips!!he also added a port by drilling a small hole, has anyone done or heard of this?
  13. took off stock carbs for cleaning, took off float bowl on first carb and removed main jet, there is a brass washer that comes out,well.......i tried to tap the washer out, later discovering that you dont tap it out,but pry it out!!from all the tapping i beveled the brass washer, thinking it was ok,put it back together, now that cylinder doesnt run!!!!my question is,is this washer act as a seal, beacause that i beveled it out so much,it appears that fuel can go right around the main jet up into the carb causing the one cylinder to suck way too much fuel.as i pulled the plug to see what it looked like,it was soaking wet,and im getting great spark,is this cylinder getting too much fuel beacuse the main jet washer is damaged
  14. hello everyone,im looking to make a 60-65 HP banshee, what is the best route to go,i ahve a 98 with a few mods, fmf fattys, cool head w/22cc domes, toomey radiator,pro-design proflow intakes, prodesign foam air filter, stock carbs,i dont have too many mods, just a few bolts on,im not looking for a stroker crank or big bore kit, thinking to ditch the fmf's and go with cpi's and a sick port job.whats the trick to making a 60-65 H.P. BANSHEE
