  1. You're smoking dope, and/or obviously haven't ridden a box stock raptor or 400EX. Period. I have. No no...what I meant is it would take 3 times the money to make a 4 stroke drag quad as fast as my banshee... Yeah, a trail shee is cool, but...reliability and electric start go a long way, as does pulling up to a gas pump at the end of a long loop and just putting fuel in the tank (no premix) has its advantages....
  2. Yeah, I've used/seen welders blankets back in my day using a cutting torch to remove car exhaust....but, never tried it for packing...LOL. It probably will work...but, only time will tell.
  3. When it comes to gas/fire or otherwise safety and the possibility of injuring or hurting yourself, I only speak on my own experiences, or those around me I know personally... That being said, I don't know samdust...never used it, never seen/heard of that being used. I've personally used the ol Pink Panther Insulation....for a long, long time, and no issues. So...take that as you may.... I'd rather leave you as you are than point you in the wrong direction.
  4. And he's right. He didn't say it was faster, he just said it "Sounds Wild"...as in real F'IN Loud!!!
  5. Search button my friend, it can save you a lot of time (and possibly harassment...)
  6. Very nice looking bike...good luck with you sale, man!!
  7. If you mean the packing itself....go to any Lowes or Home Depot and get the good old Corning Pink Panther home insulation...works just fine.... Or pay 3 times the price and get some Toomey or FMF branded packing, your choice....
  8. Sale Pending to Smkupshee....
  9. PM replied... Sorry...forgot to add, 325 local pickup, I live in SE Michigan, north of the Big "D" Detroit.
  10. OK...I'm going with a 10 mil setup, so...I'm getting rid of my small bore inframe pipes. They are badged RDZ inframes, but....as anyone can tell you, they are the same design as the Shearer inframe. They are show chrome, and the chrome is in good shape. They have a few ding/scratches, NOTHING to hurt performance in the least, just your average rock or small branch.... I will take all the pics you'd like, they are off the bike and in the rafters. To be 100% honest, here is the one flaw.... One of the silencers is a Shearer Style, the other is a RDZ style. Looks-wise (cosmetically) they do not match. However, performance-wise they do make a lick of difference. I just don't want a buyer to claim they were misrepresented.... I got them for a good price....and am giving them up for a good price...just to get my hands on big bore inframe pipes for my new motor. 350 shipped out via Fed Ex...using paypal add 3% to cover their fees (sorry, I'm tired of getting dinged with their fees...) I have perfect feedback here, do a search. I can ship them out the next business day once payment is confirmed/received. I'm only selling these because big bore pipes will work better with my 10 mil...otherwise...these are the pipes to have!!!! PM me if interested, I will post a few pics later when I get home.
  11. Yes he can be ported and have stock reeds. VForce will NOT alone win that race for you. It will give the bike better throttle response, it will give a couple of HP at most, which you will never feel on the "butt Dyno"... Porting can do WAY more than that. Due to weight and his porting, he's gonna beat you unless he runs out of gear way early.... You need to get porting, then go from there. Why would he be scared? He obviously knows a little about racing, and those that talk the most are usually in the back, making excuses when it's all said and done....
  12. You MUST have the cable... It is shorter due to the TORS on top the carbs being removed.... Buy the whole kit, cause you're gonna need the drill, tap and idle screw kits, too. You need to install the idle screw kits because the TORS adjusters on top of the carbs handle idle speed as well...till they're removed, anywho... Magic, Vitos...and a bunch others sell the COMPLETE Removal kit, with everything you need. This guy has 'em... http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/partdetail.asp?partid=123
  13. He probably meant he has his TORS unplugged. No performance advantage there. No CDI gives you 1000 more RPM on it's own. Your intake, porting, compression and exhaust dictate what your specific redline is on a two stroke... how ever, after market CDIs generally have more advanced timing curves....giving a few HP here and there.
  14. If his porting is worth a crap, and weight isn't too different, he'll beat you. One tooth isn't a HUGE deal, even on front. He could air up the rear tires...to somewhat make up for that. Since you are putting the money on it, no one here can tell of your or his riding skill, experience, etc. Too may variables for any of us to put a safe word in... only one way to find out...
  15. 1roost...I think you'll have less headache and problems with a shock only swap...however, I still think it'll be cheaper and easier to get yours resprung and revalved... Even the front YFZ shocks on a shee aren't the best idea. Yeah, I know they fit with a little bit of work, they also wear out the joints quicker...period. you MUST be CRAZY to pay those kinds of prices. I'd find a way to get to the states and buy your stuff...you overpaid a TON for what you got. I understand the exhange rate, plus the hassle of shipping out of country (precisely why I won't do it)...but, even if you hop a plane, etc., you could still save money on that. Others will ship to CA, and they're a HELL of a lot cheaper and better than Trinity, too....you're partially paying for their name...which to me is garbage.
  16. Ya know...why would you come on here and totally shit on this guys thread? That just isn't right. If he holds onto it for 6 months then sells, so be it. If someone just comes up with the cabbage...good for him as well. Don't shit on someone's for sale thread because you can find it cheaper, etc.... Unless you are serious about buying the bike yourself...just plain wrong. No question he has a mint, new, clean bike with some nice 1st stage mods on it. If he sells it for that price, good for him....don't be an asshole and tell him he shouldn't get that for it, though... Now, if he had an 87 for sale that was beat to all hell, and wanted 5K for it, that's another story....
  17. They normally come a tad rich from the factory...so they safe and Joe Schmoe doesn't go out and blow it up! I'd say check the air filter, make sure it isn't too oiled up....and sealed properly. Drop in a K&N and that should fix ya. I would've done the same, removing the snorkel....well done.
  18. 27K for that bike? I'm jumping across the boarder to sell my 10 mil cub, it should fetch 50.... No need to start a pissing match. Truly one man's garbage is another's treasure....but those Raptor Plastics on a banshee have to go...seriously...
  19. Same ones I got from Ellison, without the plastic, work just fine....
  20. Even if you got the swinger and shock for free...the mods, fabrication, etc., can't save you any money versus buying an aftermarket one, with roundhouse for easier chain adjustment, and a reworked/sprung/valved stock rear shock... What are you trying to gain from this?
  21. PM Locogato... Tyler lives in St. Joe's MO area, maybe he has interest in another bike and/or putting it all back together for you....
  22. Nice bike for sure, Tyce. Sad to see you selling it...hopefully you're just building a bigger one to whip up on Greg!!...LOL... Hope all is ok...free bump!
  23. Here you go...sorry, I'm not good with metric to american conversion...but, 32:1 is a safe, good ratio. Click on the link, and look near the bottom for your Metric ratios. Also....as long as what you put in the tank is premixed, oil and gas, it will be fine.... http://www.dansmc.com/2stroke_oil.htm
  24. I like the Razr rear, but my holeshot XCR fronts. I don't like the razr front tire design.... But those rear are meaty as all hell...for sure.
  25. Dumb questions, but you do have the springs on the air screw, right? Try some pliers and stretching them a tad... The spring is what should hold it in place to prevent it from backing out. Possibly put a new Oring on the end for a good seal, too... Just a though before you went a more permanent or harder to adjust route...
