  1. In my honest opinion, you'll net an increase of 7% give or take switching to alky. Since you have a stock ported bike, it would be a complete and total waste of time. I know porting costs more money...and there's a reason for that. You could easily double the output of your bike and tuned/maintained right it would be nearly as reliable as it is stock. Porting first, then alky...you're wasting money and time until then. While you're at it...get the crank welded. I've seen them come apart on stock motors. With that much compression, it's only a matter of time if it's not welded.
  2. Professor... Now is a good time yet bad time to answer that. Before now, my answer would be simple...throw some CPIs and be done. The original creator of the Rockets has a pipe called the R2 which is better in every way than the Original Rockets. Jim @ Passion in conjunction with Sniper Pipes are making inframe pipes as well. While CPIs, In my opinion are the old, proven pipe...it's always worth a look at something new. You're not looking for peak HP...as of right now (R2 and Sniper pipes still in infancy/testing at this point) so Shearer would be the obvious choice there. R2 and Sniper are both site sponsors...give each a call/PM or Email and see what they say Chris. I'll vouch for you 100% old friend... Good luck, let us know what you end up with.
  3. Fuckin' A....you're dead on right with that one....
  4. Off topic a little but somewhere I read Lesnar came in ready to fight at 265...whereas Carwin walks around at 290 and has to cut to 265. Which seems odd...because Lesnar just looks "Bigger" than Carwin. If I'm not mistaken, Carwin actually has bigger hands than Brocks as well...
  5. Hey...we had Tim Sylvia as the HW champ...so anything can happen...
  6. If Carwin only made 40K for that fight he got hosed and his agent (if he has one) is worth shit. Guy was undefeated and knocked out everyone he fought. Being Brock's first fight back and knowing PPV would blow up, I'm dissapointed he didn't get a piece of that as well. I agree neither will lose in the next year... I think we'll see Fedor in the UFC in a few years once he's past his prime. Guy has been undefeated for 10 years and finally lost one, and lost it quickly. I think he'll be in the UFC when he fights like Chuck (Chuck's a hall of famer, but most of you have watched his past few fights, time for him to retire....) By the time Fedor hits the UFC he'll be canon fodder...
  7. I fully agree... Fedor finally lost by a guy on the ground...and Lesnar prooved he has a chin against the best power hands in the HW class. After Lesnar made a complete ass of himself beating Mir, I think he learned this ISN'T WWE, this is a professional sport where honor and respect are practiced, not show boating and face time with the mic. He showed heart this fight...and he deserved to win. If Carwin had some cardio, this would've been a different fight perhaps. Carwin should've let him stand up...but maybe he wanted to proove he could dominate Brock on the ground, which it did. It just emptied his gas tank. I'd like to see a rematch 6-12 months from now (which I don't see Lesnar or Carwin losing another fight until the rematch) and Carwin gets come cardio. I don't see anyone taking the belt from Brock for a while. Maybe Fedor's management will be a little more reasonable and humble now... That being said, Fedor vs. Carwin OR Fedor vs. Brock would beat all MMA PPV events by a country mile...
  8. Why not start a single thread about pistons instead of a different thread about each and every type. Honestly...I know the forged pistons are roughly the same in price. I wouldn't put a cast piston back in the bike if you forced me to. How much money are you going to save with cheaper pistons?
  9. Forged WSM are fine.
  10. Tim, Not worth your time explaining to this guy... While we all can appreciate you having our backs when it comes to safety over looks...this guy doesn't get it. I was wondering why this was in roosting room, but after reading the thread, I understand why now... bad_ass... Show us pics of work you've done personally, in action and in the spots you mentioned. Does Doug over at D&M use YOUR products? If so, you have a leg to stand on. But we all already know the answer to that question....
  11. I see both sides of the story on this one. Mailman is just trying to pass along a good deal to members...his post is borderline advertising...and can be taken either way. Not my call...just giving my opinion. Alf paid to sponsor here...and our site sponsors pay for this site primarily, which we're all appreciative. The reason you don't see Jeff @ FAST, Kevin @ HJR , Andy @ M&M or other "builders" posting a lot here is because they do much more labor intense work than Alf does. They build motors. I know Alf polishes parts, which is labor intense in it's own right...but his primary business is getting parts at dealer cost and selling them at or near retail. I can tell you 100% first hand there is not a lot of markup or margin in that. I tried it briefly and it sucks... Alf is just saying buy from the sponsors...that's all. None of our site sponsors are getting rich off this site, they do it because they love it....just help a brotha out....
  12. Had a great time and met a bunch of great people and friends here...no doubt...
  13. I agree 100% Andy and I will add you should have the right kind of dome cut for your fuel of choice, gas or methanol!
  14. Chariot one piece baby...
  15. I want to find out where it ran 3.8s so I can go run a 3.5 with my 10 mil Maybe it was towed behind a top fuel dragster with that chain on the front. 3.8 in 200 foot maybe...
  16. Damn nice...but he's going to have to get 5800 from out in CA cause he's not going to get that anywhere else. But Dayum is that clean...
  17. Just because it says 64 on the intake side does not mean it's NOT ported. That's the casting for a 10mm crank, as said. That area does nothing for performance if you were to grind that off, it would be a "cosmetic" only grind. Mine still has it... You could either measure port heights or put it on a degree wheel to see if it's been ported... Not a bad deal, as long as the inside isn't a basket case...
  18. He also sells a leak down tester he makes up which is easy to use and CRITICAL in my opinion for any motor build. Great guy to talk to!!
  19. Ha Ha...I just realized the 2nd poster's screen name was SandyVag. That's even better!!
  20. If you decide to sell it outright, let me know.
  21. Did you actually ride that bike...?

There is one thing I can promise you. If you put that Amp link on, you might as well flatten all your tires....cause that's about what it's worth. There is so much drag on the chain it'll feel like you lost all the HP you just bolted on, that's a promise.

50 HP is a stretch IMO...I've seen a dyno somewhere with a 4 mil cub and stock carbs and pipes only put out 70ish. That's 70 plus ccs and a helluva lot more than a clean up port. And IMO a 50HP banshee isn't going to spank a well tuned 450 with a good rider on it. The banshee is giving up a lot of weight... You're not going to turn much HP with stock pipes only reving out to 8K...
  24. Two bad stators from Ricky Stator in two years left me at the line with a dead motor. They warrantied the first one, and they were very good about it....the second one I threw in the trash at the track garbage can. Put an OEM one back on and been fine since. To answer your question, I like the Nology Coil and hotwire setup.
  25. That's what I wanted to know B. I read stock head and Cheetah...and aside from the bore, the studs are located differently...so I was wondering what you had up your sleeve for that. I'm with you now...I gotcha!
