It doesn't bother me in the least...but I'm gonna call a chicken shit a chicken shit... He was man enough to run his mouth in PMs, but then coward enough to turn PMs off, not block them...turn them off. Call a spade a spade... As said...when he shows me something impressive...then I'll give the wizard proper props...until then, he's all mouth with nothing down south...piss on 'em.

Dunno about that....Brent's 350 dune ported by FAST pulls very hard with 35s on it...
-
Uh oh....I hear news stories that start out like that...lock the tent and camper doors guys...LOL... I know...you meant along, just making fun. I'm with Shane...I don't care about the fans, turnouts, the purse...etc. I'm there to have fun, running 4 seconds of 40 seconds, see my buds...and have some cocktails when it's all said and done.... In my experience...the more of a turnout, the less you actually get to ride your machine. I hate paying 30 to 50 bucks and making a pass to three. I'm all about paying 20 bucks and getting in just as many passes.... I've made so many passes a few times at the strip I actually felt guilty for all that paper and ink for the slips.... :yelrotflmao:

Do you have stock porting on your bike? If so...you're way overcarbed. You'll have little or no low end, barely a mid range...and probably an average top end....if a stock motor will pull those carbs. That said, start with 155 mains, middle clip on the needle and 50 pilots. Fat...but safe to start.
-
Pods and T5s I ran 340 mains and 27.5 pilots... In the UAE...it's HOT. So...that will richen your jetting a hair... Start fat, work down. I'd get a pair of 300 to 340 main jets, start big...work your way down.

Mr. Germain.... My 4 mil had a year old clutch, brand new inner and outer, brand new basket, new cable, pancake bearing, perfectly adjusted shifter and clutch...and it still only shifted when the moon and stars lined up perfectly...when under full power. I had two or three other people ride it...they all said the same thing at the dunes...how do you shift that thing? I also let one or two people ride it at a drag strip 'round here....same thing. So...with everything being bascially new and in perfect adjustment....still not being able to shift....it's pretty simple. You're taking a tranny designed to handle 35HP or so (stock) tripling that...and expecting it to perform the same... Nope...ain't gonna happen...

I have seen Scott on here recently, and he's posted a few times. I know he went through a rough divorce....plenty on here can understand that. That being said...he's posted he's ready to do biz again...and that past is behind him. I called him at the number in that post within the last month or so... Told him who I was, and another site I'm on, everything2stroke.com is looking for a swingarm and possible a arm or other fab builder to be on the "preferred" list for the site. Wasn't asking for a dime for sponsorship, I just wanted to feel him out...man to man, over the phone to see where his thoughts were. (Yeah, I know how bad that sounds....oh well....) Anyways, I was expecting at least a call back, even a PM saying sure, no, no thanks, piss off...something... Nothing. NO PMs, no phone call, no nothing. So...either business must be too good he doesn't need to take on other work, or...he's truly not ready to start going down the right path.... I told one guy on that site to get an arm from him...and he was happy with it....too bad, good prices and quality work can go far in this biz....but a responsible businessman is needed first....

Shhh....don't let the secrets out...LOL. When I say commitment, I mean trans, clutch, swingarm, gearing, intakes/carbs, exhaust...and a set of brass balls... Trust me...I loved my 4 mil on gas last year, and actually Jeff's clutch with 6 HD springs held that motor very well. But trying to shift it...forgetaboutit.... In my opinion, a billet basket, new inner and outer hub are a good bet. Actually putting it together isn't a big deal. Kinda a pain trying to hold a monoblock, making sure the rings are on the ring lands and putting the cylinder on...other than that, it's a snap. And as said, grind on a 12 point box wrench for the two front, inner cylinder nuts. They call for 28ft lbs...but two and a half "grunts" is what I use...LOL...

Thanks!!! I knew 65mm, wasn't 100% on the 68. Wonder if they make a stock stroke super cub (72mm) http://www.wiseco.com/PDFs/Catalogs/CB07/YamahaATV.pdf According to this, they make a 66.50 mm for the banshee, 66mm for the 795 long rod series...but blaster pistons are 66 to 68.25mm bores... JMadd...you mentioned you had a stock stroke, stock rod 68mm cub, what piston are you using...and is your head/domes cut special for it?? I see Tri-Z pistons are 68mm bore by 68mm stroke....I wonder if anyone has tried them before...hmmm...
-
Damn good point... They don't make "banshee" pistons or 795 series in 68mm, they make Blaster pistons (big bore) that big. The blaster pistons already have the pin location offset 5mm, like the 795 series. If he got a 65mm bore stock stroke cub, he could use banshee pistons on a stock rod, or 795 series on a 115mm rod (long rod)... Come to think of it...I'm losing my mind... I'm not 100% sure if they make a 68mm bore stock stroke cub, I know they do 65mm stock stroke cub...I'll have to check, and...if they do make 68mm stock stroke cub, you'd have to get the long rods put on the crank...hmmm... I'm not 100% sure on the stock stroke/bore availability....lemme see if I can find out. Either way...a cub isn't a great idea for Dinner.. Also...how long of runs are you making bro? I'd hate to see you build a motor, and suck even more fuel draining the bowls.... Larger float bowls and a dual pingle valve might not be a bad idea for you...

There are alot of good tuners/builders out there. Keep in mind, CA is just starting riding back up with cooler temps. For the money and turn around time, Bob @ R&B porting in Michigan is hard to beat, I've seen a couple of his port jobs, rode one of his bikes....and it ran pretty good. Money and turn around time is gonna be key...
-
A 10 mil open end wrench is all I need to adjust my timing....why do you have to take your flywheel off? All I do with my bike is drag race. My compression is 175 to 180....so I only run 9 degrees. If I had less compression, I'd be running a LOT more timing.... But alky is more picky about how much timing and compression it likes. Keep in mind, this is on a cub...which in my experience last year and this one, they like timing and compression....
-
Yep...in those conditions...you'd be wasting your money on a cub. Get a good strong port on your stockers... cubs have all kinds of the wrong kind of power for what you're looking to do, IMO.
-
Depends on how much $$ you want to spend. I don't know if they make a super cub for a stock stroke, I know they do for a 4 and 10 mil crank. However, then you can add on the cost of a totally new head (they stud spacing is different, so even a stocker won't work).... and the cases have to be bored, they won't accept the 72mm bore as is. My opinion, get your stock crank trued and welded, throw a max load or TZ bearing on the PTO side for good measure. Get a stock stroke, 68mm cub. Run blaster pistons. Get someone to machine your stock head for the bigger bore (it's what I use) and O ring the head with 19 or 20 cc domes. Cub porting out of the crate is drag porting. Many builders will clean up the porting (they have casting flaws from the factory molds) included with the price of the cylinder, some will charge you a nominal fee...it does take a little time to smooth them out. Builders charge between 200 to 500 for a "Full Drag Port" but what they're actually doing is massaging the ports already there, changing shape, size...etc. On average...and on smaller cubs, you could probably get 3 to 10 HP more out of a full port. Builder and setup dependant...of course. Plan on a dunable overrride tranny and lockup to make the most of the power, longer swinger and stiffer rear suspension to get it to the ground.... A cub is a commitment....100%

Yeah...gotta love 'em. Little Johnny and his father were talking at home one day...and he asked his father what's the difference between actuality and potentiality... His father then called his mother into the room. In front of his son, he asked her if she'd sleep with a stranger for a million dollars, to which she replied...absolutely...and left. He next called his 18 year old daughter, asking the same question, and receiving the same response. So...he said son, potentially....we could be sitting on a few million dollars. In actuality, we live with a couple of whores....
-
At 5300 Feet??? Doubt it.... If I were you, I'd be shaving heads or putting like 18cc domes in to get some compression back, and put them at 4 to 6. Yeah, I love a shit load of timing....
-
I'd say 33 unless you're gonna get some porting done, than 35.... And I'm pretty sure the 33's can be bored to 35s... I know the 39's can be bored to 41s....

Calvin @ CP has been known to make a few odd ball cylinders to compete with certain size requirement classes for organized racing, my guess is this one fits in a 450cc and under class...I think a 7 mil is JUST over that, as is a 10 mil.

Help Installing T.O.R.S. Removal Kit
dajogejr replied to flyRTby's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
No... Use the screws...and they work just fine. Did you file down the boss that the idle screws screw into? They must be ground down flat, and a little taken off. They work fine... If you use the throttle tops, you have NO slack at all, so...you turn the handlebars, etc...it could raise the idle. You need to have a little slack and use the idle screws as they're meant to be. If you're in a jam...you could use the throttle tops...but, only for the minute! Use the idle screws as they're meant to be used!!! -

Dude...5 interceptions for Romo and they STILL pulled it off... All I can say is Romo better be sending the entire Dallas Defense and Buffalo Offense a Christmas card this year... I feel asleep part way through the 3rd....WOW. Here's a great few minute clip of the highlights, right on the front page of nfl.com www.nfl.com

www.motorcylceshippers.com is a good one as well...

You heard Bob Snoring....I promise it was worse inside the room....LOL... I thought I heard a little Al Green or Kenny G coming from the cab of your truck at Albright....LOL..
-
I think you better check again...Jr. Dan crapped out...you busted Brent's balls for being up his old Lady's ass, then he came out of the truck/camper and you were snuggly/wuggly...so he went back to bed. Shane and I were last men standing at the bonfire on the other side of camp for Albright.... Unless you got a second wind....Shane was last man standing, I was second...and in bed by 2AM.... I had to drink enough to medicate myself to sleep....
