  1. Depending on size of the carb itself, that's about right. Mine are 40/44s but Packard milled the intake side to 41.3 mm, a mod he does often. Tell him what you're running, he can damn near send them to you perfect.
  2. Shit dog...these here are SEXY....LOL.
  3. He posted up the reason the times were off. new system...they had a porta tree engineer on site in the beginning....and it went kinda bad after. Some...not all of the times...were inaccurate. And as sure as I posted the impressive times, I'll be the first to say that they aren't correct once it was proven. J-Madd raced him, and as soon as he showed me the slip, the times were false. However, the MPH is correct (impressive to me) and the first bike to the finish won. And in heads up classes, 3 seconds or 10 seconds....time doesn't matter. Cross first...that's it. I'm very glad he pointed out I can go to lonestargraphics.com and get an exact copy of his plaque with my bike. bet your ass I'll have one in my garage. It will Never, ever turn those times with me. The fact that it can turn respectable times at an event of that size, in very capable hands makes me very proud to say the least. Now...I'm dying to ride...LOL.
  4. From my guess here and PS...the number will be between 10 and 20. Great number. Low cost to run....and you can probably get 10 to 20 passes in like usual. I'm sure there are guys that are gonna be there that went to Gilbert and want to get more runs in. Brady said last night you got 3 passes for T&T down there, but could buy more passes...he didn't find out the latter till...well...later. I gotta figure a way to get a bar back on mine. I might borrow brother Newtz' bar again if I can't get one made by then....
  5. Just talked to Bob. It's on. 12-4. Barring and flooding or other weather related reason they can not get the track in shape to ride. Still the same price, 60 an hour. I'm asking anyone racing to kick in an extra 5 or 10 beans to be given to the track workers for their time and effort. I'll keep in touch with alcoholbanshee leading up to the T&T since he is 5 minutes from the track. Here we go guys...gotta bust that sand cherry early this year, hoping to see you all out there for some fun....
  6. damn...seriously, that is awesome. I really, really appreciate the heads up. He earned it, I wouldn't DARE ask him to give it to me. On the same note...that will be cool as all hell to have one for my garage... Also...he rode anther guy's bike down there (yeah, he's pretty damn versatile) and I'll have to let him know!! Thanks again!!
  7. Beyond classy. He overnight air'd them to me, tracking number...and they were packaged like fine China. I smile every time I look at 'em.
  8. turrets acting up again???
  9. Can't please 'em all Loco. A guy that don't like titties, beer and red meat is no man to me. Piss on him.
  10. Yeah...long story. But bottom line is a guy on here and PS saw I posted I always wanted to try them, but they are big $$. Said he had as set on his bench, new...by Packard, sitting there. Used once. He'd send them to me. Wouldn't let me pay for them or shipping, they arrived looking literally, LITERALLY brand new. I thought I was gonna get dog shit in a box...to be honest. I couldn't believe it. Been in love with them since...I had to buy a cable. So...for 50 bucks I got 650 to 700 bucks worth of carbs... Guy said thanks for the help on the forums, pay it forward. So..I do my best to do just that.
  11. 3 to 5 K for a motor, 150 for billet bowls. Pretty easy choice if you ask me. Do I honestly think he needs them? I don't know. That's why I told him to run it down the track with the pingle only, in support of your idea. And IF the pingle isn't enough, go with the bowls. I can't say for sure if he does anymore than you can say for sure he doesn't. Do you mean do I think I need MY billet bowls? With a fuel pump on my Lectrons, for 300feet? hell no. Now...since i got the carbs for free, yes...free...and they work awesome...I see no reason to buy smaller bowls for them. On the flip side. When I do take my bike to pavement...I know my fuel system will deliver enough fuel if I can get the gearing to pull the whole distance.
  12. The good about running ATF is it's cheaper and easier to find. The bad is you have to change it more often because it gets "muddy" sooner.
  13. Yep...sure have. 1/8 and 1/4. But it was on stock bore/stroke ported 350s on gas...before cubs were even thought of. 34PJs and we ran a lower volume fuel pump. Back then we figured out if you removed the front and rear fenders you could get 3-4 MPH and .2 to .3 off the clock, mainly by reducing all the wind drag. (And I had hair and weighed about 50 to 60lbs less, too. Thanks for bringing back those memories...lol) I spent my shop class hours in small engines in high school working on our banshees, dirt bikes, etc., while half the class was working on lawn mowers, tractors, snow blowers...etc. I had two hours of vocational small engines in high school, went to lunch and came back to be the shop teachers aide....so, three hours at my disposal every day my Jr. and Sr. year.... Hell, did I say 50 or 60...it was probably closer to 70 lbs back then... :yelrotflmao:
  14. You're right. Point being, you've never ran sand, 300 foot or alky on a 421 cub...is that a correct statement from me?
  15. Honestly...I'm fine with the thread. It got a little heated over our ideas, but no one was insulting the other, no keyboard fights...there is absolutely nothing wrong in this thread. You guys have your way of doing things...that's fine. The reason I quoted you there 06 is because it's funny you should say that. In another thread, Kevin's thread....you've never ran alky or 300 foot in a 421 , yet there you were giving him advice on what fuel setup to run for bowls, pumps, etc. Yet, alky and 300 foot is my world....
  16. Sorry...with that much HP and no wheelie bars and stock swingers, unless laws of physics cease to exist down there, I stand by my statement. You're not getting all the power to the ground. Not even close. Why don't you make your way up to a sand track and lay a time down...then you can tell me I have a trail bike. Pretty sure more trail riders have stock swingers than REAL drag race guys.... And I have a 14 over swinger....and it still comes up big time. With myself or riders that weigh 100 lbs less on it. Again, it's a getting REAL power to the ground thing you guys don't seem to grasp. Never claimed to be the best rider...or even a very good one. But it doesn't take a good rider or one with very much IQ to put the math and physics together... Wait...I'd lose down there. I told you what I run and I'm being 100% honest....guess that don't fly....
  17. A few simple reasons... 1. We know what each other run around here. NO lies, no BS, no deception. 2. I have a bike setup pretty good for Sand drags, not pavement. 3. I get in the car more than 5 hours...I'm ready to kill everyone and everyone...or fall asleep. I'll be making a trip down to Little Sandy, in Kentucky this year. That's a lot closer to half way...bring the bikes there. Meet me half way... It's not that I hate 'em, I'm just saying....you don't build a 130 HP bike, run a stock swinger and tell me you're putting all the power to the ground that it has or you're not blowing the tires off it. Period. I could put a top fuel motor in a grocery getter, but what's the point???
  18. If these are the same ones strapped down in front with stock length swingers on pavement...I honestly don't want to know...
  19. Has this ever been assembled and run?
  20. Yep. Take the side cover off, spray it all down with brake clean. As long as the hose and clamp are tight, the only other thing it could be is the Oring on the bypass pipe. Put a thin layer of RTV on the pipe Oring,...reassemble. Happened to me once, that's what I did. Hard to find an oring for that cause it's kinda flat. Yeah...no prob. I got a 95-96 style CDI, harness and Stator I use for backup. I have a Nology Coil and Hotwires that I KNOW works just fine if we need to go that far. You got my number...holler!!!
  21. You secretly know the Patriots are the shit, where I publically state it...we agree on that.
  22. Oh...to add. Kevin, we also gut the stock gas cap, and drill the vent line. I drilled mine to 1/8 inch...
  23. Oh boy...don't get me started....LOL. Kevin... 2 guys here run 4 mils...alky, 300 feet. fouledout421 and badassbanshee479. I know for 100% certain bad ass uses a dual pingle and billet bowls. I'm about 90% certain fouledout uses the same. On my 10 mil, I used stock fuel valve, a DF62 Octagon mikuni pulse pump (65L per hour) and stock bowls on my 39's. We all run 300 foot. I have a pump AND billet bowls on my Lectrons...but the carbs were given to me...with the bowls, and I really see NO reason to remove the bowls for smaller ones....I have enough fuel for 300 foot to 1/8 mile. Tap the cub on the intake...best place for a pulse line.
  24. Uh oh...what'd you go do. Check all your grounds and wires. I have a spare CDI and Stator to borrow. Both my used coils have no ends on them. check the kill switches, if it still has any TORS, disconnect all of it. You can take the cable off, use a piece of paper to make a funnel around the cable...then small, quick shots of WD40 into the funnel. Don't use grease...it attracts and holds dirt, dust, etc. I can give ya a hand next week if you've got time...neighbor!
  25. Bro...I'm not saying your wrong. In fact...I'm pretty sure I've said at least twice to do exactly what you said to do. Just saying not every bike is the same. And you can't be 100% sure you are correct for his bike and his motor. That's all I'm saying. It's not about right or wrong. It's about being safe...and gathering more than one opinion....whether you agree with that opinion or not.
