  1. You might get lucky...>Labor day weekend...close to Silver Lake.. Have faith....
  2. Man....got me thinking... Nice clean bike.... Craigslist it, it'll sell faster than on the forums.
  3. White smoke is usually coolant, dark smelly smoke is tranny fluid. First thing I'd do is make sure the carbs are sync'd up properly....they make a tool for it, but you can probably get it 95% close by eyeing it. Before you even fire the bike, did you do a compression and leakdown test?
  4. I already saw all that...thought it was something else. Either way...he's a fuckstain....fuck him.
  5. Why is it I can't see that link??
  6. Try the FMF pipes then the CPIs on that cub. I'm not saying it won't run on the FMF...I think it'll run much better for your application with the CPI....you have the luxury of trying both!!!. Good luck, let us know what you end up with!
  7. Yep...I can read. Like I said...show me an adjustable one or one as shear proof as a plate.
  8. Show me an adjustable flywheel key that is as shear proof as a timing plate, and I'll buy all your stories. Otherwise.... What is 20 to 30 bucks more for a piece of mind...adjustability, etc? Especially after you spend hundreds, if not thousands on the bike and it's parts. What if your bike likes 5 degrees...what if it likes 6...or 3? Guess you wouldn't know. Until you can prove to me the flywheel key can be adjustable and as shear proof as a plate...your arguments hold no water. Easier to install? You're half way there taking off the side cover and flywheel nut. It's literally 15 to 20 more minutes in the hands of a monkey to take off a few screws for the wires, move the stator and pickup over to a plate, and bolt it all down. If you're that interested in saving 20 to 30 bucks....you're in the wrong sport.
  9. It is very possible...a STOUT running 425 could be putting 145 HP at the crank....and 20 to 30 HP is being lost through the transmission, chain and axle... But 145 at the rear tires.... He'd need a stout motor AND a big shot. Or... A turbo...LOL.
  10. Throw some compression and timing at the cub, you'll be fine. It is a light switch....but if you add the above, the light switch comes on sooner...and CPI is a good choice of pipe for it...it will make better power over a broader range than a Shearer type pipe will. You can shave the flywheel as well to get on the pipe sooner...too.
  11. There are two designs of the slingshot for a banshee. One can be run under a stock cover and it replaces your pressure plate as well. The other (which I run) bolts over the top of your pressure plate just like the direct drive style, and still requires a lockup/modded cover.
  12. Yep... There are two basic styles. One uses fingers that swing out from centrifugal force...the other uses ball bearings. They both push against the pressure plate so the clutches don't slip. The one with fingers is called the direct drive style, the other with ball bearings is called the slingshot type. I've used both.... When you get into higher horsepower bikes and drag racing/serious duning, you'll need it to keep from smoking clutches.
  13. I guess kids are gonna play...so here you go. Posted...not a shout box bitch...at 1 AM no less. Grow some balls kid....
  14. No drag AND better stopping power....and that is one nice looking piece of hardware. I just sent him a message on ebay, see if it'll work for a 14 over arm. I might have to pick one up in the next few months....
  15. If yours has the bullseye in the intake, they are NOT BOSS intakes....but, regardless, they take the same boot. The cheapest and easiest way to get the replacements is order them from Sudco.com If you have no luck there, let me know...I can get them for you as well. The Mikuni boots are the ones all the intakes use...and they're replaceable...which is NICE!!! Scroll to the bottom of this page: http://www.sudco.com/vol33/55.pdf
  16. Did I mention I can get you an override...
  17. Take care of the fronts first....but don't forget about the rear shock... 400 won't go very far...to be honest. Try to plan ahead. A stock length swinger wont' do much good if you plan on getting aggressive porting...and a stock shock is even WORSE on a longer swingarm...like MUSH....
  18. Well said...!! Give it to me for beers and cheap strippers....call it research.... LOL.
  19. Lansing area...pfft....must be nice. Hour from Bob's or Ionia... LOL... Just kidding. We are the Norm, Cliff and Frasier at Bob's and soon to be Ionia.... There is the inaugural race at Ionia on September 12 and 13th....show me the money. It should be renamed show me the party...cause it's a blast!! The last race of the year is at Bob's the following weekend. Don't be surprised if you run a tenth or so faster at Bob's...I do. Keep your eyes peeled in the riding event forum...we're always hitting the tracks, often we just rent one for 4 hours and make passes and have fun. PM badassbanshee479 (JT), fouledout420 (Shayne) or myself (Dave) your number, we'll give you a holler or PM. If you're on the East side of Lansing, I'll even share the cab fair out there if you have a trailer to tow....2 splitting gas is cheaper than solo!
  20. I understand and agree...Rico. You just posted on this thread....so, if I were him, I'd probably be taken a little offense as well. It's all good...
  21. Actually... I don't think realtree was out of line. He only asked if he could come down in price a tad. He wasn't being an ass about it..... You guys gotta remember, just because we all KNOW the carbs are worth more, that does not mean that's what they're gonna sell for. Tough economy everywhere....we can add up the retail in our heads all we want to. Just like you can put 12K into building a complete bike for the dunes and strip....but you'll get on average half of that... Now if he told him "I'll give you $150.00 Shipped", then I'd have told him to F Off.... I do see the points though...maybe negotiating should be left to PMs...
  22. Call him or email him. He doesn't have Internet at the house, he's in the sticks...and looking into other ways to get the net at home. So...I'll PM you his email and phone number. Make SURE you tell him you're the Dave Germain from down south...I sure as hell don't want your grille...LOL... DUH DUH DUH DUH... Look at his first post, number and email are on there... DUH DUH DUH DUH....
  23. I should have mine by the end of this week, beginning of next for the full bores...will post that shit up... JD's the man...
  24. My bad....My apologies. I got this thread and the "Ride back to camp with a passenger drinking a beer" thread mixed up.... I got lost in the posts.... My fault 100%...my bad.
  25. So all this you did was on Private property? 100% of the time? Funny....you forgot to mention that. And if you think wearing that badge is so easy...try it yourself sometime....it's a thank less job with plenty of punks to deal with day in, day out...who all think they are Johnny bad ass and know the law better than them...
