Thinking about selling the banshee
dajogejr replied to pinned247's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Yep... I said buy a four stroke, tongue in cheek on that thread...and it was "thriller" from there on out. -
Explodingist lungs...... Now that was funny.....
-
Two things make a two stroke rev up like that, or "hang". Throttle cable or carbs are hanging up/sticking, etc. Or, and air leak, as mentioned. That could be the intakes cracked or gasket leaking, base gasket, crank seal...case halves. I would venture to say check your intakes. In the last couple years, I started using blue loctite on the 8 intake bolts that hold the intakes and reeds on....

Without a doubt, Packard is the man. I don't think Lectron sells direct to the public, they sell through two main distributors that I know of, Packard Racing and Fast By Gast. Dennis Packard and his family are deep into this sport, I would call them. My Lectrons were setup by them, and I honestly couldn't be happier with them. rubberneck is 100% spot on. That needle is key, it gets confusing...and once you're confused frustration can set in. I can tell you mine are setup damn near perfect...are easy to tune, etc. There are a couple of posts on here about pros/cons of Lectrons vs. Keihin or Mikunis that would probably benefit you as well. I emailed Lectron direct a while ago about being a distributor for them, I think they're in Michigan local to me...never got back to me....
-
Long overdue.... 2 strokes can run clean like 4 strokes, it's already apparent they can run more efficient with less cc's and less moving parts.
-
Is it when you first open the throttle? Have you tried changing the air screw settings?
-
Yep...he was happy....but then...wait, no he wasn't. He sold them as: "cylinders run great....$450 O.B.O. + shipping " I learned a little from MJ...say you're done, then keep posting. I think I'm gonna keep that trait. I've got time for you too SpecialNeeds222, but this thread won't last much longer.
-
C'mon, SpecialEd2222.... The others that have had work here by him are more than happy with it. I'm not arguing, I don't have to. Like I said...the proof is in the posts, others can read up and make their own decisions. You just came here to start shit...the members of the HQ didn't just get off the boat yesterday...and can see right through your BS. Nice try... But... FAILED.
-
IMO..perfect. As long as you did the chop correctly, including warming it up on old plugs, pulling them, putting new ones in and making a WOT run...you're golden.
-
Guess I should've realized it was a few week old post...nice work Brad!

If you could sell your pipes and pickup some ProCircuit, FMF Fatties or Paul Turner mids, they'd bring the power down in the RPM range. You will lose a little top, but gain some bottom and mid. That would probably be a wash cost wise, if not make you a few bucks. Toomey pipes, especially T5s hole their value. Cheap mods other than that would be a timing plate (about 40 to 45 shipped) set at plus 4 degrees, and shave .015 to .020 off your stock head. I'd warn against going much more than that on the head and the timing...because you might need to run higher octane fuel than normal premium pump gas. Those are both cheap mods that will help considerably.
-
We were... You just thought you could walk in and throw the shit around one more time...but you got shut down. I'm done...guys have fun, and the link I threw up speaks volumes for anyone that wants to read it...
-
College? C'mon....grade school maybe. I brought it up to show your reasons for suggesting not to go with flotek. Lies. We try to watch eachother's backs here....something you're familiar with...only with lying involved. I probably wouldn't want that old post (proof) brought up either if I were you. Hell...michael Jackson and I have NEVER, EVER got along and we just had a blowout over the past few days, and even HE and I agree on that thread. That's like the Hatfields and McCoy's having a family BBQ together, Republicans and Democrats back slapping and laughing together....oil and vinegar mixing....
-
Ok...you're right. I'll let the others rehash this old thread, read your BS and lies, and decide for themselves. If you had a legitimate gripe, customer service issue...fine. But you just came here to stir the pot...and here's the proof. My apologies ahead of time to balla, steve and Chris. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...=101312&hl=

I'm not trying to be a smart ass, but have you asked Passion where to start jetting his motor? It is absolutely true each motor is different, but he'll know where his motors like fuel, and there are a lot of 39PWKs out there...it should run fine.

2005 Yamaha YFZ450 & 2001 Yamaha Banshee
dajogejr replied to 2001Shee's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
You're giving them away....have you tried Craigslist? motorcycleshippers.com will crate and ship them. Across the country for an ATV is about 400 to 500 bucks....closer is cheaper. -
Round plug is the 87 to 94 style. If you just ordered it....I would send it back and get the right one instead of splicing wires. Otherwise, cut the plug off your old one and solder then heat shrink wrap them to seal.
-
Hill...there is a little history on this one. I am really trying not to be an asshole...honestly, I am. But if you knew the history you'd probably see different, or at least understand my point of view.

The guys with the most marketing dollar will convince you their oil is the best...and usually they win. Pick any...run it. Make sure it's two stroke premix oil, not injector oil (like found on PWC and Sleds)
-
Bump the mains up to 330. The carbs may need to be sync'd. The easiest way to do this is pickup the Banshee Bible, or...a clymers manual. Detailed step by step with pictures.
-
The fact of the matter is with a key you're stuck with a satic timing advance. It's not like the key is 15 bucks and a stator plate is 200. A cast aluminum plate is about 45 or less shipped. A nice Chariot billet plate like I just picked up is I think 60 or so shipped... I would honestly not spend the 90 or so ProDesign wants. What if your motor likes 5 degrees, or 3...more, or less. The key doesn't account for that, the plate can.

Honestly, I don't need to impress anyone. Just what do you plan on telling them in this fact filled PM? Because like I said, I can pull up the past history.... Complain to the HOA? No...more like give him a courtesy call to let him know the children are out playing again unsupervised. And yes...I've already sent him a PM to see if your behavior, once again...is the kind he wants giving exposure to his site. We've had our disagreements in the past. That's what it is...the past. I'm perfectly comfortable leaving it as that...you...apparently aren't. I promise my vag won't bleed like your ass did last time it got spanked on here.
-
Good point...you'll save the BS and bashing for the PM you're telling everyone to send you. Offer stands, anyone wants the background on this one, let me know. You guys can do what you want over on your side of the fence...but you need to get on with life and stop digging up the mud over here, and shitting in my back yard. Stick to the classified and events and everyone will be happy.

Gonna be hard to get 100 HP out of it with a boost bottle and TORS...lol. If that did happen, they'd find a way to choke it down to 50 HP to curb the lawsuits. Could you imagine a 100HP OEM ATV?? Sheesh....

Thinking about selling the banshee

Wow... I get blasted for saying what others are here in another thread...where's MJ when you need him. No more drama in the BHQ...it's kinda hard being da double jog.... It's like homes. Not the time to sell, great time to buy. If you could get a good price for your shee, I'd sell it. Their value is not going up any time soon...only lower in my opinion. There is 20 plus years of the bike out there.. A 450 is better suited for what you want to do...
