Sounds interesting...let's see some pics of the fabrication and installation!!

You need quite a bit of motor and quite a bit more abuse to break second...or asphalt. Yes...they are absolutely the weakest gear. I think you'll find more stress on it on pavement than dirt or sand. I can only give you my experience, but with my 10 mil cub on alky (and I'm 250 lbs) it has over a thousand passes launching in 2nd and I still have no issues. Just tore down to inspect, port and freshen up...tranny still looks GREAT. But I only ride sand...so, for what it's worth...

Prayers out to your family and hope for the best. Dave

I have Lectron carbs and it's very possible with the 14 inch air filters and the intakes supporting all that weight, it warped the rubber boots. There is a steel or other hard material under the mating surface...
-
Funny you guys should mention that. Mine are leaking, possibly leaking all last year. I made a gasket, used no gasket, used RTV, used Yamabond, still won't seal on a pressure test. Sorry to say, I'm gonna pick up some UPP intakes for my 10 mil cub. I can't say if they leaked before or not....I never leak down tested my 10 mil cub until about a week ago when I tore it down and freshened it up. I don't want to buy new boots...but, I might..not sure.

Thinking about selling the banshee

I forgot about it too...I guess that's what happens when the insults and jokes are that pathetic... My girlfriend's 7 year old has better one liners.... -
No way to answer that question for sure...could run fine, could break first time out. You should definitely be able to tell the difference in the two. Post up pictures. Sorry...as far as telling you exactly how to cut the trans, that's taking money out of my others pockets. That's kinda like asking a builder to tell you exactly how he ports the motor. I'm not trying to be an ass...just trying to be fair to myself and my buddy that cuts them. I will have it looked at if you want to send it out. I'll also be happy to sell you a perfectly cut trans so you can see for yourself...the price hasn't changed since I last quoted you.

Actually...MJ said he left the site. So...there will be no more arguing between us. Of course, by leaving...he was on at 1:15 AM today. Checking up on dajogejr hater PMs, I'm sure.

Yes Sir... I have a spare everything with me, including a wiring harness (no BS). I've had to swap out a stator track side twice in the last two years.....
-
Yep..said he did in the first post. Probably gonna cost you 10 to ship it each way, and depending on what it needs, 50 to 150 bucks to fix, mod, etc.
-
Yep. I had two go bad less than a year apart each. I sent the first back for warranty, the second went in the staging lanes...and I just threw it in the trash and put an OEM on. rusty, beat up...looks like a war zone OEM stator...still going. Junk... And my bike doesn't ride in mud, rain, etc. Dry days, sand...that's it.

I've never seen a "pretty" welded or cut drum. It's just not so...it's a part never seen, and as long as the strength is there, I wouldn't care what the welds look like, compared to...say a chassis component.
-
That is optional. WCR started that a while ago....I was going to put one in mine, but I've never had an issue shifting mine, and I didn't feel like waiting for my bud to cut mine up... The drum itself is definately noticeable over stock.
-
I would love to find a supplier of new Stators and not pay dealer price. Something not made in China, and that works...period. Chariot Performance, a site sponsor, makes a billet timing plate that is very nice. It's a few bucks more than the cast RickyJunk, but it's a lot less than the prodesign. I picked one up this year for mine, and I keep my spare stator (OEM of course) on the old cast plate.
-
Good quetions. Also...how long an arm?
-
Well that's the problem...look at the new one... LOL. J/K... Yeah, you should easily be able to tell the difference where new grooves were cut and where they were welded.
-
I'd dare to say you'd run out of gear before the traps at 300 feet with that gearing.
-
For 300 foot, 16/45 or 15/42...and you'll leave in 2nd gear, 1st is useless for 300 feet.

Little dick? Hell, this is over before it started if that's the best you can do...c'mon. You gonna tell me your daddy can beat mine up next? Your rubber and I'm glue... What's next, mom jokes? That's Pathetic.... Tell ya what, It's sunny and nice outside...I'm gonna go have a few beers with some friends and do more adult stuff. Maybe you can put a plastic helmet on and your parents will let you ride the bike around the block a few times. Do good enough on that...maybe you'll move up to crossing the street. Just remember to look both ways. Better yet...don't. So have some fun, go play in traffic...Papa Dave will be back later to check on the kids. -

You need to smoke more of what's in your sig if you think that is even remotely funny. I guess if he got away, he didn't get far. Open arms, open mouth...and little pecker extended from xxx... -
This is strictly my opinion...and other Lectron users feel free to jump in... Three reasons you really don't see them as much. 1. Price...because there not as many around, and there are only two distributors and they don't produce as many, they are EXPENSIVE. 2. To go hand in hand with number 1, Mikuni and Keihin carbs are more than plentiful and cheap...so, everyone has a comfort zone, these two work, work well....and are very affordable 3. Different. They are easier to tune, but different. There's a needle that threads in and out to richen or lean off idle to mid, then an external power jet for 3/4 to WOT. No mains, no pilots or air screws. That throws some people off. As said, the absolute key to getting the right tune is the needle. The right person (Dennis Packard) can get you the right needle. If you have the wrong one, you can tune till you're blue in the face and it just won't work. Once you have the right needle, they are not NEARLY as finicky with temp changes, altitude changes, etc. You can change them from gas to alky by changing the needle, and you can change them to gravity fed or fuel pump with a simple needle and seat change. I like them, they work great for me...and I run methanol. Meth is traditionally more finicky....and these carbs make tuning a breeze. Hope this helps...

Changing the sprockets won't get you more HP. By shortening the gearing you will be "on the pipe" sooner...you know, when you feel it start really pulling. But...the downside is you'll rev out and run out of gear faster, so you'll be shifting quicker and more often as well.

About how much is the max RPM of a banshee?
dajogejr replied to blaster2006's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Yep...nice call. There's a "false spark" on each cylinder, each rotation... -

I would post up a picture of a little kid sucking Michael Jackson's dick drunk on Jesus Juice...but his lawyers kept those well hid. I'm sorry you're still butt hurt over your buddy leaving, like I said, he'll be back. You guys are like a bad rash. If Loco wants to tell me to STFU, he knows how to contact me...and I will be contempt on whatever he decides. Until then...I've got time for you kid. School in, school out? At the very least can you please not steal my lines or jokes. I know how bad you want to be like me...but, there can be only one. There's a ton of little clowns and wannabes out there, so....like the line at your short bus, you should fit right in. I can see this will be coming in handy... Even better, I was wondering who was gonna take up that other seat on MJ's bike signature picture. I guess that's been answered to. Maybe you guys can go to school together, catch a show...you know...gay shit you're both into. The only question left is, who's in front, who's in back....or do you guys both pull double duty of pitching and catching... -

Glad to see you've taken up his efforts. I'm fully aware of what he asked...and I have my story straight. I said buy a four stroke as a joke...but your new but buddy took it all serious because of the rift we've had for a long time, and that's where it went sour. Do you want to turn this thread into that one? Kinda hard to be on MJ's dick when you seem to be taking such good care of it...you can leave along with him if you'd like.
