LOL boon I was thinking the same thing I know that after one run down on the east coast in the grass drags and the sled is way hot so I cant imagine a sled lasting long out on the west coast in a dune and I dont think the hyfax would last ether it would melt from the heat and friction from sand all around mess I wouldnt bother with the amount of money your going to have to spend to get a couple runs it wont be worth it. Sleds are made for snow they need it to cool the track system and cool the heat exchangers shit my sled overheats somtimes in the winter on trails if I dont ride through some powder once in a while

is it possable that the pipe came of durring a ride right before and a rock went in or you had some dirt and rocks in air box that got around a faulty filter or poorly installed one ???? only 2 ways into the jugs intake and exhaust have u checked it ?

depends on what type of porting was done to your jugs if the transfers are not that bad lets say a sport port job or a mild port job it can be done. your best bet is to let a builder like Patroit or Passion look at them and let them evaluate them to dicide if it will work. I am building a stroker adn mine were ported prev and I just made the requirments to do it . Good luck

Looks like I will not be up this weekend to many things I need to get doen before I can get up there if I did make it I would be rushing and somthing bad would happen. I divided to take my time and wait till next year. LOL u are kidding you would rather install a different engine with a top end you dont know how old it is then rebuild your and have the peice of mind that its new ??????????? Its cheaper to rebuild your then it will be to find a used banshee engine. You cant even get a beat one for $500 and you can rebuild for under $300

Hey have another ? my buddy has a 99 rm 250 and he asked how you blew the top end he said the rm 250 are almost bulletproof unless you mixed wrong or beat the snot out of it ????? I am buying his it is bearly ridenin last 2 years and I rode with him at track I am getting his for 1500 flawless shape procircuit pipes prop taper bars and lots of other stuff plu s his riding gear. So after hearing that I wonder what else is wrong with your bike ????? how are you sure it just needs just a piston and not crank and cylinder no matter what it needs to be replated ?????
