yup I used spectro for many years and recently switched to klotz but , the cold weather issues were explained to me a while back by a distributer or spectro oil .I then started using the synthetic blend in winter

there are issues with the origanal blend of golden spectro it does not perform in cold weather well the oil molecues dont mix properly with fuel. Golden spectro came out with another oil for winter it comes in blue bottle I think its spectro sx synthetic blend

Who was??? By the time I got my shee running right, seemed like everyone broke down. I know Rods shee was running strong the first day, did anyone take him? The weekend went by too fast. I can't claim any rights on this one. I wanted the title the second day, but Rods stator shit the bed.... OH well, Feb is around the corner.... LOL get a dremmel and take some materal ofthe domes thats good . Allrighty now first of all it is very unlikely that sand made the marks in the domes its more then likely what the others said a previos engine failure Or a engine failure has just happened to you . It could be a piece of the piston bounced up into hte head and blew out exhaust or a piece of a ring ???. how do the sleeves look ???? what was the compression before you took head off ?????? sounds like to me after you answer all the normal diagnostic ???,s your going to have to rebuild this engine now as for metal in the crank after you remove cylinders look inside and see if there is anything in there check to see if the main bearings have any play and if there is you have a couple options the right way and the hacker way I have done both first off the right way is to split the cases and clean her up and check the internals while you are there replace seals ect . the hacker way is to pour some mixed fuel down in there wash it around and clean her out turn it upside down blow it out with air hose and check and recheck to make sure its all out anyway do the diagnostic tests and then let us know what the true condition of the engine is ....... Good luck the first one is allways fun dont forget to download the clymers manual from the site that way you can just print out the pages you need because they are going to get messy

I had boysen rad valves and ported reed cages on my bike and I recently installed V-force 2 on her and it made a big difference it woke her up . It really depends on what you have done to your engine . I have a stroker with all the bolt on goodies and it was well worth the $$$$$ in my case to go with the v-force . I believe Banchetta has dyno info on all of them

a 96 rm 250 is only worth around 1300-1500 bucks I can get a 99 right now with bearly any hours he wants 1500 I can get it for 1400 .I am not sure how nice a banshee your looking for but there are not many for 1500

first of all the weight of that oil he said is fine if its gear oil !!!!!! and it is second the oil leaking from the bottom of the cases is a lttle odd have you ever split the cases ???? if not its the yamabond or simalard liquid gasket seal that is not working you can try going to the hardware store and getting some copper washers that fit the studs snug and see if they will seal the leak this is just a idea. I am sorry to tell you that the real fix is to split cases and scrap of old gasket and reaply yamabond 5 . The reeds you installed are not the issue it is your floats you didnt take your carbs apart did you ??? or turn them upside down if so tap them and see if you can free them if not just remove them and look iside them to see if floats are ok they are ether stuck or have leak.Also the big concern isthe main jet you say you are using a 190 ???????man that is lean even in a stocker where are u located ????? I am pretty sure with the g3 reeds you need to jet way up and since stock jetting is 220 you should be at atleast 250 !!!!! the guy who sells the g3 reeds will help if you call him he is pretty cool about it

you didnt overtighten the axil nuts did you ?????????? there are 2 off them unless you have a aftermarket one . If not they are not supossed to be cranked down super tight you will ruin the new bearings if you do . !!!!! the first will go on snug tight so there is now movement in the axil and then a good half turn then the next one will go up to it and dont turn it so far that it spins the first one !!!! then with another wrench turn the first one back into the other to hold them in place. DONT RIDE THE BIKE WITH THE AXIL OVER TIGHTENED AND NOT MOVING FREELY YOU WILL RUIN THE BEARINGS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You definitly should do the cross hatch to break the glaze on the cylinder walls so that the new rings will seat properly . Also dont load up on to much extra oil in the gas that will just lean her out and dont forget to take it easy its like a new break in now that you honed it and re -ringed it good luck
