It's a 443cc. I know what you're saying about big bore pipes bein' the right choice, I was just wondering if anyone had any numbers, i.e. dyno runs, to prove how much more power a big bore pipe would make over a small bore pipe. I mean, if I'm only lookin' at another 2-3 hp, why do it...but if we're talking 5-10 hp hell ya I'm down! I'd call the builder, but he's too damn difficult to get a hold of. Anyways....I'll prolly be sellin' these small bores and gettin some big uns. Was just hopin' to get some info from y'all....

Ok, I'm jackin' this thread. A&S built me a 7mm cub a few months back and supposed to send me a set of CPI big bore inframes...well, I got small bores. I'd already used 'em after I figured this out, so can't return 'em. Figure I can prolly sell the small bores and buy some big bores, but dunno if it's really worth the ass pain...anybody know what kind of gains we'd be looking at going from a small bore to a big bore??

Congrats on gettin' yerself a shee, you're gonna love it. A little more maintenance/bullsh** then a 4-poke, but the hard work pays off.

I'd be up for it, but got too much stuff to catch up on. Trailer needs work and the g/f's bike ain't running....piece of sh**. But we do need to schedule an HQ trip to Walden Late August, early September? Don't even think about Labor Day, Wadda ya tink all??

First of all, welcome! This site is a great place for banshee info. Just watch out for some of the jerks. But there's only a few of 'em, most of the peeps here are great. Going from a warrior to a shee, you're going to notice a lack of torque...like it just doesn't want to go right at first, but when it does--hold on! Is this the first shee you've ridden? They do need a good warm-up b4 ya go riding. Did it spit and sputter at all, or just bog? If it rev'd up and then started to go, clutch might be suspect. $2500 for a stock 99 might be a bit steep. Where in colorado are you? I'm in the Loveland/Berthoud area. Seems like there are usually quite a few of 'em in the papers around here. Good luck.

I've got stock banshee headlights--black and the upper a-arms. pm me if interested and I'll send pics.

Word! I had nothing with problems with my old one, but I saw an old boy running a Subaru engine in his rail this weekend up at Walden. Damn, that car would just go and go and go. Outcliming other more powerful buggies and he didn't stop once to wrench on it that I saw. At first I kinda chuckled...Subaru?? But he made a believer outta me.

Stay away from the key and go with a plate. brugal, don't take offense... I've just seen way too many problems with the keys and I'd hate to see somebody else go through that asspain.

Oh yeah - sounds like it got hot. Most likely from the air leaking past the loose spark plug creating a lean condition. Bummer deal, but just think of all the mods you can do now.

Bought an aluminum radiator from him. Looks better then the pics. Arrived on time, just when he said it would. Thanks zilla!

Welcome to the HQ! You mentioned the TORS, so I'm assuming this was still hooked up before you changed the carbs. Kind of a stupid question, but was the bike running before you changed 'em? Have you checked for spark? I'd start there and make sure you have fuel in the carb bowls. Only three things a motor needs to run, fuel, spark, and compression. If ya got all three, shee should start. Check it out and let us know.

I don't know why I found that so funny...maybe because I do the same thing.

Oh yeah, my buddy bent the hell outta that. Long story, but the bike basically fell about 15 feet flat on it's top. Bar was bent back into the gas tank so far we had a helluva time gettin it out. Eventually ended using a bottle jack to straighten it back out. Field repair all the way, but it worked and he's still riding it. Which way is it bent? How bad are the cracks? Maybe post some pics if ya got 'em.

Now at least I know what I'm lookin for. I'd be lost if it wasn't for the HQ Thanks!

Gotta +6 swinger on it's way from QuickSand and was just wonderin' how long of a chain do I need to get?? Gearing, for now, is 41-13. Thanks for the input!

lol... I was thinking the exact same thing. I've been studying this pic and I gotta agree, somefin just don't look right. Was thinking that if they are backwards, the upper ball joint would be too far back, to the rear of the bike. But then I started lookin at them there heim joints...they just slide onto the upper mount...I don't think they locate laterally, just provide a pivot point. Am I right??? I dunno... personally I'd try swappin em and see how shee looks. I'd think that big sweeping bend in the upper A-arm should be to the rear, not the front. This would position the upper ball joint further forward in relation to the heim joints. Might also improve the shock clearance too? Just my .02

lol That's the same thing I did with my daughter. She rode the 'lectric powered one for about a year, but she kept gettin stuck in the field by the house, so I decided to get a gas powered. Yammy of course, Moto-4. She rips around on that thing, almost scares me sometimes. And I still haven't told her about the "other" gears besides first yet. She has a great time following me around on the garden tractor. Kids are the greatest! Congrats bro!

Someone with a Trinity head will have to confirm this, but I think they use the same domes as ProDesign, Noss, etc. Maybe try and PM dlnoss on this site, he makes the Noss Head and can prolly get ya setup. In my experience 1cc difference in head size will equal 8psi of compression. I'm at 5500 feet of elevation, so this equation may not be accurate at sea level. If someone at a lower elevation has any experience with this, I'd be extremely interested in the results. As far as squish is concerned, I dunno. I've heard varying opinions both ways. Too small a dome, not enough squish area. My experience has been the higher the compression the better and squish area be damned. Maybe some of the experts here can chime in. I need some clarification too.

Need some help and advice please.

Thanks for the offer but I think I'll be getting an aluminum impeller. If I'm puttin' a new clutch in her, I don't wanna risk this happenin' again. DJ -
Anyone with Direcway Internet
ScrewMachine replied to locogato11283's topic in General Banshee Discussion
My signal strength is normally 62-68, unless we get a heavy storm then it drops off a cliff. I think it's definately faster then dial-up, but it sure as fook ain't fast enough to warrant the $80 they stick me for every month. I feel your pain. If something else was available out here in the sticks, I'd be all over it. Till then..... -
