  1. When you pulled the cover off you should have been able to narrow it down to either the motor stuck or the kickstart mechanism. Did you pull the mechanism off and try to turn the motor to make sure the motor is free and smooth? If it was free then you know for sure it's the kicker mech. Then just reinstall it and move it back and forth with the kick lever to see what is hanging up.
  2. First and foremost (and most importantly) stay calm... If you get all worked up you will most likely miss something simple and then be kicking yourself in the ass later for it. Check all the "common sense" things first; (even if you think they are correct!) >Carb slides in correct? (slanted cutout on the slide should be showing out the backside of the carb (intake) >Carbs in sync? >Airflow restrictions? >Fuel restrictions? >Fuel on, good gas, full gas >Plug wires loose or bad? >Clamps on front of carbs (at the intake boots) tight? >Intakes/Reeds tight? Can't think of any others off the top of my head right now. If these are all good, you might need to go deeper and do some of the following; >Check Compression >Clean Carbs out real good >Pull your reeds and make sure there aren't any broken or badly gapped ones. (this can sometimes cause bad running like you are) >Pull stator cover and make sure flywheel and pickup coil are in good condition and tight. >Get it running and have someone keep on the gas to keep it running, spray carb cleaner around the motor in places like the head, reeds, etc. anywhere you could have an air leak. If the motor stumbles when you spray you have an air leak there. Hopefully that helps get you moving in the right direction. Tate
  3. Welcome, Welcome! Hope you gotta fat wallet...
  4. NitroTate

    Names!

Did you guys hear about the couple that named their two kids "Adolf Hitler" and "Aryan Nation"? I think they got taken away from the parents...
  5. Pistons might be slapping around in there.... do a compression test.
  6. Just take your time and pay close attention to the details of what the manual says, it's easy to miss things. Kind of like the old saying, "measure twice and cut once" well, "read twice and assemble once". Good luck and have fun with it don't rush!
  7. Hey just wanted to let everyone know, if you contacted me about a disc in the past 5 days or so, they are on their way, I shipped them yesterday. Anyone currently interested in a disc please let me know I'm doing another big batch of them over the weekend.
  8. So to get my thread back on topic...; Guys, I still have plenty of discs left so let me know if you want a copy and for good measure, I personally recommend signing up for a premium membership to help the site out since it helps you so much!!
  9. Very nice, refreshing change to the site. Motivational too!!
  10. Thanks for the kind words guys. Just let me know I'll help you out however I can.
  11. No problem man send me your address now and I'll get one out for you today.
  12. Oh I will, I have a ton of discs left and I will always buy more when I run out... just let me know.
  13. Thanks for the kind words guys! Much appreciated. Anyone else jumping in on this batch, I'm headed to the PO in about 30 minutes?
  14. Yeah guys I actually have a TON of discs left so let me know ASAP, I have a bunch of extras with me at work today and if I get your addresses before I go to the post office I'll send you one. Let me know. Tate
  15. Thanks guys I that's why I made it! I will think about doing another one some day but not until I'm done working my ass off trying to get ready for this season!! I just tore the wife's banshee down to bare bones yesterday to rebuild and powder coat it too... whew...
  16. Yeah you're right man sorry I wrote it backwards...
  17. Still seems weird to me but hey if it's running good then great. I would still do a good plug check again just to be sure because if it's black and the plug check also indicates rich then you could lean out a little more and run even better as long as you are careful. And to answer your question about humidity, the higher the humidity the more air that is going into the motor which would mean a leaner condition than if it were really low humidity.
  18. HUH??? where was I being a dick??
  19. Damn dude that just doesn't seem right because I run 270's in my banshee with pod filters and T5's at 7300 ft and about 60-70 degrees F. At your sealevel elevation and at that temp you should be around 300's or so possibly bigger. Did you do a proper plug check/chop? Do you know how to do a proper check? You need a brand new plug to do it. If not let me know and I'll explain
  20. Yeah like I and others have said, throw some 300's or 310's in there and do a plug check, you won't have to worry about blowing it with those in there.
  21. Go up on your mains by about 2 or 3 sizes and do a plug check then work your way back down or up if necessary. Before you do a plug check carefully run it around a little and if it's running like crap, pull the choke and if it runs better you are lean so you'll need to go up on your mains and then do the plug check. That should get you a starting point at least.
  22. It's not a "Ricky" is it?? Mine did that last year but it was a Ricky stator and just quit for no damn reason.
  23. I don't think there's much to worry about with Sheerider1026 as far as reputation goes at this point. He's proving himself and he and I have exchanged information a few times. I think I have a decent reputation for PC on HQ and I would recommend him too. He has the PC Fever like I do!
  24. Bump! Just drumming up any other orders for this week's post office run?
