  1. Cutting the gears will work good for power shifting.... The down side is more back-lash on throttle back off. This can put more shock on the transmission and drive train. If you are drag racing, it could be a good mod, but if you are trail riding it will not so good on the drive train.
  2. 01bansheefox He said... You can not re-drill a broken easy-out, as it is as hard as a drill bit...
  3. Machine shop.... "EDM"
  4. Check the float level, make sure a jet hasn't fallen out. It is also possible that the float needle needs replacing and it could also be the float seat o-ring leaking. Ron
  5. rocketboy, How did that head work out? Tell us all about it.
  6. You need the flywheel puller!
  7. PJ carbs don't idle well at all..... Replace them with 33 or 35 mm PWK's!
  8. I personally do not like the PJ carbs and think a PWK is a much better choice. If you still want a PJ carb check out the TRX guys as most all of them have removed their PJ carbs and replaced them with PWK's.
  9. The piston size is 64.25 mm

  11. another shot...
  12. Here are some that I have done. Ron
  13. I would stay away from the PJ carbs...
  14. 10-4 that...
  15. When replacing a chain, make sure to check the sprockets for wear. Badly worn sprockets will ruin new chain in no time.
  16. You will not have good luck boring the carbs to 29 mm.... The slides are 27.35 mm, so there would be too much air leakage to compensate for and have it idle. What I do is oval bore them to 26.25 X 28 mm, I also install one of my divider plates. This set up works great and gives you the best of all worlds, good bottom end response and a good top end. Ron
  17. Buy the standard sleeve and have the ports redone to what you have now and like. No matter what sleece you use, you will still need the ports blended to your existing port job.
  18. David is the MAN
  19. That sounds like a very good explanation to me.... good thought!
  20. Wrist pin bearing failures are not that common... Two questions; Were the bearings new? And are you sure that it wasn't the clip that let go and did the damage? I have seen many problems from piston pin clips coming out. Some Wiseco pistons are hard to get the clips seated properly (not enough room as it hit up against the pin before seating).
  21. I have an issue with Vito's pistons, both the forged and the cast. I have built many engines using all of the different pistons Vito's sell and have noticed that they do not wear well. The pistons are much shorter in the skirt length. This causes more wear on the bore, rings and the piston it self. They do run great, but short lived. If your engine is ported don't use the Vito's ported pistons.
  22. Any brand type F will work just fine..., also I like to mix it with a 10-40W motor oil. two parts of ATF with one part 10-40W.
  23. I think a 4 mm stroker crank would have been a better choice.
  24. Most auto parts stores will have Gasgacinch... How ever, I don't think the rubber plugs to the sealing. I think the base gasket does most of the sealing.
  25. I have run into this problem many times.... and I am sorry to say that you will probably have to split the cases. What happens is the push rod will get mushroomed over where the clutch actuator pushes on it. I have see them mushroomed so bad that you have to press it out (after removing the transmission shaft). Also the bore of the transmission shaft may need to be honed to fit a new push rod. Ron
