  1. here let me explain this real good so noone gets confused..This is for a single carb! not a 2 into 1 pipe. Before I had a k&n pod on and the jetting was 162 main 35 pilot airscrew 2 turns out. usining middle clip on needle.. I built an airbox and bolted it on. I knew it would make it fat so is atrted out keeping the 162 main and tried adjusting the needle. Now I went down to a 148 main, 35 pilot needle in middle clip. Before the airbox it pulled fantastic. now with the airbox I can't get it dialed in..when you first start it it sound and revs crisp but as soon as you take off it just acts funny. I know it could be nothing else I bolted my stock duals back on today to see if maybe it was something else and it screams. so now I'm back with the 2 into 1 trying to dial it in and have no idea.. the plugs look good but the bike tells me something else by the way it runs. I would love to get this thing running like ti should with the 2 into 1 because before it was a beast with it on! thanks
  2. heres what the plugs look like after about 10 min and a wot pass.. its still hesitant in like 1st but my god midrange 2nd through 4th and a little of 5th pull like crazy now i just need to get 6th pulling like it should it just takes a long time to wind out...

  4. day 3 guys and still tuning..ran this damn scenario through my head 100 times and still can't get it figured out..I'm still at a 148 main with 35 pilot airscrew 1.25 turns out...the damn thing is flat in 5 and 6th not even close to the band! I've searched and searched.. could it be float level? I'm going to lower the float to see if I can get more fuel in the bowl..I'm just out of ideas and nobody seems to know anything thing...this thing ran great with the pod on, it was jetted 162 main 35 pilot airscrew 1.25 turns out, pulled great all over now its just a nightmare....c'mon guys.
  5. thanks for the reply bud..but if i ran that jetting in my bike I'd do good to get out of the driveway it would be so rich.. I ran my graydon with a K&N pod for over a year with no problems at all and it was jetted at 162 main 35 pilot niddle in middle clip and with klotz 40:1 .. 50:1 scares me I'm not fond of changing my topened all the time.....I've for the most part gotten rid of the problem down low now it just has problems wiinding itself out in 6th gear any help guys?

Never had this prob before keep in mind that the reason for all this is the fact that I just bolted on the airbox.. any suggestion all the mods are in the sig. but I am not running the v3's right now I'm running boyesen carbon reeds. thanks guys Josh

Also I didn't even know he was back in the states so ya know? I'd like to get mine adjusted for a 4 mil....... Josh
  9. I got my cylinders done by Eric Gorr, some of the last ones he did. They are baddass..power everwhere with 15-41 gearing I'm in 3rd gear allday long if i need the band its either right there or a quick clutch tap..I'd highly recommend him if hes back in the states..He didn't quit doing motor work..he just went to England because his buddy had a shop there and there was some big falling out about the building he was leasing. He did say he would be back but he didn't know when. Also he said when he does come back he'll have a bigger facility and be open to more of a wider range whatever the means...I waited almost 5 mos on my cylinders and it wa swell worth the wait!...they rip! Josh **Also forgot to mention.. Eric Gorr was cool as shit with me laid back guy no attitude and asnwered every question I had..Also He bored my jugs and gave me me a .40 wiseco piston set for $80 because it took him so long to get me my cylinders then when they got mixed up in the mail he called and made sure I had received them..if that not good customer serivice then what is *****Don't bash them if you have no idea*****

Micorps..sounds like you need to work on the fitness side of XC..everything the bike gives comes from what the rider wants it to do..I built my banshee for XC and couldn't be more proud of it! the 450s don't have shit on me unless the fact your a BETTER RIDER! Never had my bike say say well i want to nose in, while I was in the air..don't blame the bike for rider error.. I think everyone is caught up in 450 HYPE its like rising gas prices or some shit. Pretty soon the once Affordable sport of motocross will be fazed out by the fact your gonna have to spend $1000 on a topend due to 2 strokes not being made anymore... Just this past weekend at loretta lynn a guy on a 250r was whoopin everyone on 4 stroke like they were sittin still untl he hit a tree on the last lapand he still finished 5th...4 Strokes are for people who cant handle the Violent teeth chattering power a banshee will deliver its in some ways a expert only bike as for 4 strokes beginners of all ages IMO.....   11. I agree with Loco on the YFz. But if you must have either a Kawi OR Sucky then I say the kawi. I've rode both my buddy just picked up his Kawi last week and the Sucky's Well they suck if your not on a track. the only thing about the Kawi is if your gonna dawg the shit out of it you best had get some gussets for that frame cause the lower A-arm mount is fucked up and doesn't appeal to me very well in the strength category. Othe than that this is the Kawi first year so it's hard telling what next year will be and how many things will go wrong on it this year. As for the Kawi to Suzuki power comparison. The kawi wins everything but I'd say the Sucky will spank it on the track. Josh

I had a buddy tweak one on his YFZ like 2 weeks ago.. he called them up the day it happened and sent it out the next day.. he got it back like last week and if the axle they sent him isn't brandnew than damn they do good work.... perfect chrome finish all the splines look good also he had a groove where he got a wire wrapped up on it and rode it like that wearing a small groove around the axle and it was even gone...I say they send you a brandnew one :thumbsup: Josh
  14. I'm a cop, and there is noway he should have pulled you over unless A. your a horrible driver. B. you look really underage and he seen you with the beer and pulled you over under curiosity. Either way ,you said he followed you for a mile before he even attempted to pull you over so that there says everything that should be said. sounds to me like harrassment. Have you ever heard that after a cop follows you for a mile he can't pull you over? Well in some ways thats true but if you provoke it your ass is busted! definately get a lawyer and get him in the courtroom on the plus side if hes really busy on the court date and doesnt show up to court your free to go.. but if you get caught with dwi or dui while underage say byebye to your license.   17. you all got the right idea just the wrong connector type..I'm saying the factory plugs on a banshee that will fit the plastic plugs...You can unplug your headlights or whatever and look on the inside of plug and see little metal connectors well you can use a pin and pop these out of the yamaha plug leaving just the wire and the male or female connector that fits inside the yamaha plug..what I'm wanting to know is if anyone knows where I can get the male or female connectors that fit the yamaha plug...I'll post pics up...I searched radioshack,Nope i searched napa,Nope autozone blah and advanced still no. Oh yeah its and older harness and it is the round type I'll post a pic here in a couple min thanks Josh
  18. alright heres one to tickle some of your guys brains..I have searched and searched..just as the title says this is about the wiring harness connectors..no no not the big plastic pieces but the little metal connectors that go inside of the plastic...The male-Female connectors that crimp on the wire. The deal is my harness has been diced diced and diced and I bought the mount that relocates cdi and VR to the front..so I'm looking for these male female connectors that fit the water proof platic pieces on our banshees..I've seen them somewhere and now I cannot find them it has been a real pain n the ass..Figured I'd throw it out there. Hey man, Thought I'd throw it out there for you..I say hell yeah on the ramp and at the same time I say you best invest in some J-arms for that bike of yours...They're not exactly the strongest for that type of riding and have heard horror stories of them breaking I bent one off of 15 ft of air and the landing was smooth as butter.....goodluck. I don't know I was just thowing the single stage out there because it is more shiny. from what I have heard from some guys at the drag track that it is just as strong as the 2 stage...The guy that owns the track out here does all the pcing in the area also..its just the first time iv'e seen the single stage but from what I hear it is all over his drag banshee...The single stage is a complete different powder that the 2 stage thats why it doesnt need the clear...You can use the 2 stage powder and not clear it and it will be shiny but not very strong.
  21. yeah the 2 stage chrome looks like shit...but they now have a single stage chrome that doesnt need the clear coating on it, and looks awesome.. wifes lil brother had the inatke on his camaro done in "Single stage" powder chrome and it "BLINGS" I'm trying to get some for my Pc system so I can do a few things on the banshee..... There is Plenty of info on here about removing the rear tab...Let me go ahead and enlighten you though...yes you do just remove the rear tab of the J-arm mount and keep the front tab on, that is what is generally done you'll need to grind and cut all the excess off...No there is ot other difference in the geometry so everything should be fine unless your frame is "tweaked" keep in mind that not all frames are "exact" so the A-arm conversion you have may need to be fooled with o fit in your frame as the frame it was mocked on may not be exactly as yours....... :beer: Josh
